Low Yo Yo is a brief walk away from the historic 40 Watt Club and near plenty of dining and drinking choices. While a relatively small store, it's packed wall to wall with a lot of records! I was particularly impressed by the great selection of catalogue titles they have--I always have a running list of records I'm looking for and often these are not present in my local shops. Many, if not most, of what I looked for WAS present here. Often a new title, shrinkwrapped and priced accordingly--but fairly/within market range. They did have some original pressings and used items, but overall their used items seem to be vastly outranked by their new items. However, I can't quite be sure of that as beyond the row of newly arrived used items all others are filed with their new counterparts. I like the overall organization of this store--by genre, by artist, and often within an artist's section all of the solo and sideprojects of a group are present and accounted for. There's also a pretty sweet local artists section (including REM) near the register. Friendly service, cool shop, would definitely make this a regular stop if I lived in the area.

It's my kind of museum. Wuxtry Records never disappoints, and it's another Athens staple; they have been there since 1976. When I was at UGA, I swear my roommate/bestie and I went here weekly. It's right in the heart of downtown Athens, and it offers everything you would need and expect from an independently owned record shop that has survived many decades. Great collections and variety, while also extremely and intentionally organized. Some of my favorite bands have come out of the Classic City that is Athens, GA such as R.E.M, The B-52's, and Widespread Panic, so it only makes sense that there would be such an epic and well-known record shop here. If you know Athens, especially downtown, you know parking is limited and they do ticket if you don't pay the meters, so definitely recommend going during the week and earlier in the day. I was so happy to stop in my last visit in town, and it was even more nostalgic and sweet because I had my best friend and old college roommate with me.

I stumbled upon this gem after googling "vinyl records near me" while in the Duluth area. The service was fair, but what really impressed me was the extensive collection of up-to-date vinyl records. Unlike other stores that primarily stock older records, CD Warehouse has a great selection of contemporary vinyl. It's the best store I've visited so far for vinyl shopping. I managed to rack up on many new records here. The best part was the value. The prices were not bad at all to say many of these were newer. I'll definitely be back! There were many vinyls that I did see that I put bad.

I went in to this record store one day to see if they had wax. I found a few new LPs and a lot of…read moreold ones. I bought a few of the new ones. Upon checking out, the kind lady at the front desk told me she could order up LPs for me. I told her that I was looking for a 45 of a song from years ago but that doubt it was available as I could not find it anywhere. So, could she look and see if she could find the album. The LP was not available. The next time I went in to the store I grabbed a few more new vinyl records and upon checking out she said like it was no big deal, "Oh, I found this for you. " She handed me this 45 record that I spent at least 10 years looking for. I am a big dude but I bit my tongue as to not happy ugly cry. It was one of the kindest things anyone had ever done for me. Customer for life. And I have gone in this store multiple times and customers really appreciate and love dealing with her because she truly cares about good customer service. There are other treasures to be found here. Rare records, old guitars (Saw one for $40 that was in good condition.) They also have a ton of Compact Discs, amplifiers and a mixture of neat stuff. Picked up so many records, I was left to decide which ones I had to put back. Still ended up with some gems but I forgot to get The Fonky Homosapiens, Janice Joplin and a few others. They have a decent selection from rock, pop, jazz, metal, r&b and rap. They even have a big selection of cd's. When I walked in it wasn't packed but there were definitely people shopping. It reminded me of this music store I worked in almost 20 years. There was something so nostalgic and it just made me feel at home. I needed Prince Sign of the times and they didn't have anymore but Tobago (owner) made a few calls and worked some magic for me... I was able to pick it up today and I'm soooo happy that I was able to get it in time for Christmas. I will for sure be returning for vinyls and any music that I need!!!! They have a decent atmosphere if you like hippies who talk a lot and their prices are alright if you don't price try to match online. That being said, they will take your money for a pre-order then not have your order on the day due. Nor will they call you to let you know about this time wasting nonsense. Then when you try to get your cash back, they got their nose up in the air like its somehow your fault. This is unacceptable. Resurgence of vinyl is a good thing: But avoid businesses with shady practices like this one. Truly a disappointment. Why participate in record store day when you can't even get your order?
