We are so happy there :)
Rana G.

I'm writing this review because my daughter and I absolutely love The Rage Entertainment Complex. My daughter has been dancing for few years, beginning with a different dance studio prior to The Rage. While my daughter absolutely LOVES all kinds of dance, this other prior dance studio ultimately turned out to be very disappointing. But, then, fortunately, we found The Rage, which has been absolutely amazing! The Rage offers dance classes for many different types of dance, and customizes the dance classes to different levels of skill and experience (unlike the prior dance studio we went to, which often had all skill levels mashed unproductively into the same class). We are so grateful that The Rage has fantastic dance instructors who are incredible dancers themselves, but also great at teaching children how to dance; great technical teaching ability along with friendly and supportive personalities. And, the owner, Veda, is very friendly, very well organized, and is very professional. The Rage is also great at communicating with parents by email and phone calls about anything necessary to provide the best dance instruction experience for the children. I receive regular email updates about upcoming classes, schedules, events, activities, etc., which helps me feel very informed and which enables me to plan our busy lives very efficiently and effectively when it comes to my daughter's dance classes. My daughter has been enjoying The Rage for over a year now, and has participated in all sorts of amazing dance classes, including hip-hop, jazz, ballet, contemporary, and tap. She always tells me how much fun she has at The Rage, and how much she looks forward to her dance classes there. As a result of her experience at The Rage, she has really grown, not only as a dancer, but also as a maturing young person, who is doing great at school! Honest and truly, I just can't say enough great things about The Rage Entertainment Complex. If you have a child who is interested in dance, at any skill level, and if you're looking for an easy and enjoyable experience as a parent of a young dancer, then I highly recommend The Rage to anyone!

This is a review for parents with kids…read more I am talking about West Valley Dance Academy. I've taken my now close to 4 year old to this studio for the past 6 months, and every day has been great! The school is owned and operated by Lisa Tran. Lisa is a mother and former dancer herself, so she understands both. Lisa teaches many classes herself, and from what I've witnessed, all the kids learn + have a lot of fun. My daughter's main teacher is Kate Newham -- and my daughter loves her! She actually asks before we go if we'll be seeing Miss Kate. Miss Kate is so kind and understanding of all the little kids needs. Many of them, as we all know, just say what's on their mind at any time. Kate always listens, but directs the kiddies back to dance. Also. At no time do the kids just run around and do what they want. Miss Kate has the innate ability to reach them, and keep them dancing. It is a wonderful sight to see, One of the other hi-lights of the school is the ability to watch your children dance, even if you are at home. Lisa sends out a link allowing one to watch their kids progress in the world of dance. Many times, I am watching my daughter from the waiting room, while my wife is viewing from work. Oh yeah, parents aren't allowed in the actual dance studio. You just wait in the comfortable lobby, and watch from there. I should also mention, if one day your little one has to miss a class, they can easily make it up another day They also sell dance shoes, and clothes, in case your tiny dancer needs it. Everything one might need is right there at the studio. I know this school takes older kids too. So don't worry about that. They also put on recitals throughout the year for the bigger kids. Can't wait for my Callie to be in one herself. I usually try to put price of classes, but since my daughter is still in the toddler stage, I can tell you that it is more than reasonable. During the pandemic, masks were required for every person who was in the building. As of right now, masks are optional. I can guarantee, if things change, Lisa will be at the forefront, and mask wearing will be mandatory once again. What I tell people looking for a dance class, is to call West Valley Dance Academy, and request an intro class, so you can see if it works for you and your family. That's what we did, and have not looked back

My daughter dances for fitness and as a hobby but this studio trains serious dancers, little ones who come for their first dance class, and everything in between. The studio has ample parking. They have all genres of dance, but it always felt they prioritized the competition dance team, which isn't our thing. As a result, when we moved to the San Fernando Valley, we decided to stick with a more traditional Ballet school academy environment. No competition team type places. We ended up in downtown LA. But during covid, we really had some challenges and my son wasn't able to get back in a studio for many many months. I found California Dance Academy on social media and saw that they were doing Nutcracker outside. I emailed them and ask if my son could take class with them for a while until our school opens again. They were dancing outside and following all covid precautions until case numbers came down and county restrictions allowed indoor classes again. They followed everything to a T and kept dancers safe. No cases were spread within the studio. Everyone we met here was fantastic. No drama. And truly solid classical ballet instruction. I'd have previously written this place off because we were looking to get away from competition environment, but California Dance Academy treats both classical ballet and competition as equally valuable. They develop strong dancers and train kids up in the area the kid wants to go. Their focus is art and solid instruction. My son's school downtown reopened and he was genuinely sad to leave California Dance Academy. But I have to write this review and just say that whether it is classic ballet or more commercial style dance you are looking for, this is a great school with great people. They are helpful, transparent, kind, and honest people.

My current review is a reiteration of the high quality dance training provided by Miss Malorie and her staff, and the encouragement and development of each child who goes to the studio to find his/her inner dancer, whether that dancer takes a couple of classes a week for exercise and personal development, or goes on to train and compete on the competition team. Dancers compete in competitions, attend dance conventions, and have opportunities to perform at various venues. Both of my girls have learned and grown so much over the past few years at CCPA. My older one dances successfully both on her high school dance team and on the CCPA team; the younger one is establishing her skills and self-confidence as she heads toward middle school in her final year in elementary school. This is an excellent dance studio with a high return in value. We have been with CCPA for 7 years and I can't recommend it enough!

Our…read moreoldest has moved on to other interests, but our 7-year-old continues with ballet and loves it. I've watched Elite grow from a smaller studio into the powerhouse it is today. Elite is an excellent dance studio, from day one through their very polished recitals. It's important to note that this is not a cutesy/playtime type of studio. Dance is a discipline, and so dress code and presentation are taken seriously. For first-timers, that might feel a little intimidating, but there's a reason behind it. Hair and makeup need to be spot-on for recitals, because there's always a chance your cute 3 or 4-year-old might get on stage and just stand there! But guess what? They'll look fantastic doing it. And then, year after year, you'll see their confidence and ability grow. As a parent, you will need to stay on top of recital packets to know who/what/where/when, and I find Elite to be very thorough in the material they send out, or if you simply call them ahead of time. Another perk.. they have a professional photographer who takes photos on stage and backstage at shows/recitals for FREE. As well as a videographer, which is very much appreciated. The owner, Toni, taught my oldest years ago and is fantastic, both as a teacher and as a business owner. Neither of my girls have ever been on team, but both have always enjoyed their classes. The teachers are wonderful with age-appropriate instruction (shout out to Miss Princess with the littles) and technique. My 7-year-old only takes one ballet class currently, yet she could not be more excited to be performing in The Nutcracker for her second year in a row. Needless to say, we love Elite!

*I hope Yelp won't delete my review, as they are known to delete bad reviews*…read more The owner tried to convince us that our child needed more than just one lesson per week (ideally 3x according to him) because they claimed to be a professional institution. So, I enrolled my daughter in two lessons per week. Instead of learning proper foundations or techniques, she would spend the first hour doing conditioning exercises, and during the second hour, the theater program kids would join the class. That second hour was mainly used to rehearse choreography for their theater productions. Your child would receive even less attention, especially during the weeks leading up to the opening of a show. I honestly felt scammed. On top of that, the main roles in their theater productions seem to be dominated by the theater director's siblings. In case you don't know, when auditioning for a theater company, the casting directors usually want to hear you sing first, once you pass the singing audition, they want to see how well you can dance and then evaluate your acting last. But that didn't seem to be the case with their theater program. This is why their theater program is not growing! The heart of musical theather is singing. At $400 per month and four months to complete the production, you can find a much more affordable and better production, and most importantly, a FAIR opportunity for every child. I took my daughter out of this school and enrolled her in a different one. I was surprised by how different the approach was at the new school compared to The Grand Academy of Ballet. Yes, parking is terrible!

No school now days will teach you how to draw and paint like Rembrant, Bougerou, Ingres, In fact many art schools now days do not teach you the most important concept of drawing and that is that in art learning is life long it does not end with a degree. LAFFA emphasizes that. Furthermore many art schools focus simply on art being just paint splattered on a canvas or some weird as hell sculpture that sells for millions and where the "artist" i.e. like KOONs and Andy Warhol do not even do any work at all. LAFFA is very much like how people back in the ECOLE Beux arts were taught, or how those in the high renaissance were taught, in the atelier style, by the end of one class you will have learned how to truly draw which is the basis of all art! The accreditation, accreditation is a good thing, however it will not mean you will magically teach you how to draw and paint, much like some assume a degree means. no a true artist has YEARS of practice and does not stop because a true artist knows that to be able to truly know that they are good at something, they must remember they always know nothing like the renowned cellist Pablo Casalas once said when he was asked at 93 why he still practiced the cello 3hours a day" i think i am finally improving" that is what you will see here TRUE MASTERS of the lost art of drawing and painting, modern day Bougerou's, Rembrants, Franz Hals, Titian, Ingress etc. Who embody the true spirit of the lost arts which many so called art schools sans Cal Arts and 3 kicks do not teach today. One teacher i highly recommend taking is Rey Bustos, he is harsh, he is firm but his passion will drive you. He is truly an amazing instructor.
