I wanted to enroll my daughter in a dance class because she always dances & sings to Disney songs I looked up dance classes nearby but somehow I came across this one & ironically they have a princess academy where they learn to tumble & dance to Disney songs as well ! If I could give zero stars, I would.This was hands down one of the most unprofessional organizations I've ever had the misfortune of working with. Two months into their program--after a cast list had already been posted--they attempted to collect additional payments from already-enrolled families, despite there being no prior contract or communication outlining these supposed fees. They also demanded that students come up with their own costumes, and even threatened to pull kids from the production if payments weren't made. Anyone with even basic theater experience knows that threatening to remove children from a show two months into rehearsals is outrageous and unacceptable. Everything--fees, responsibilities, schedules--should be communicated clearly in writing upfront, not sprung on families halfway through. They added extra rehearsals last minute and tried to charge for those too. After enough parents complained, they finally took over the costume responsibilities. But again, none of these requirements were mentioned at sign-up. While we're incredibly grateful for the teacher (who was absolutely wonderful), the owner and office staff were completely disorganized, unprofessional, and frankly, rude.Mothers were berated for wanting to sit in on their young children (ages 6+ and up), being mic'd under their clothing and were screamed at for wanting to monitor that because it was "closed rehearsals" It gets worse. After deciding we'd never return due to the awful experience, we noticed a charge for another session we never signed up for. When we kindly reached out to have it removed, we were told that "Musical Theater" was now considered a year-round commitment, even though: * That was never communicated. * Our child hadn't attended in months. Did they call to check on our child's absence? Nope.They just charged us. In this economy. Don't be fooled by their polished social media. Behind the scenes, it's just smoke and mirrors. On one performance day, they called the cast for a 3:30 arrival time--and no adult staff showed up until 5:15.Fourteen children were left under the supervision of just two volunteer moms, and the office admitted they "forgot to call" the rest of us to let us know that no one would be in attendance, nor that they needed help. Just kids expected to be left alone. Left to run their own warmups and choreography. So not only are they charging families absurd fees without consent, but they are also putting children's safety at risk while being paid to not even show up. It reeks of: "I want to run a children's theater company but have zero idea how one is supposed to be run--and I'm counting on you not knowing either." Spoiler alert: I was raised in one of the top youth theaters in the country. This ain't it. Just chaos.Chaos, dishonesty, and a complete disregard for families. PATRONS BEWARE. read more

My daughter has been dancing here for ten years. A small incident happened between dance moms outside of the studio during a competition over a misunderstanding of water belonging to the studio. After years of putting up with quiet racism and favoritism I've had enough. Tiffany the daughter of the owner of the studio sided with a random lady over a long term loyal student of the studio who has shown nothing but the utmost respect to her elders and coaches at the studio. Usually I am not surprised because silent racism exists in most studios and everything revolves around thick politics. This is a warning to mothers or fathers who want to bring their children to the studio, if you are a race other than WHITE you are not welcome! read more

The instructors are great, they do a great job with the kids. Their performances are top notch! But it's just not worth putting up with the thick politics and incredibly poor business practices set up by the owners. It drives away not just clients, but some of the instructors as well. To anyone reading this and considering Rage (how aptly named) for their child's dance development: I advise you to be strictly on time and voiciferous with payments. If the owner disagrees with a billing, even if the owner is wrong, pay anyway. If the owner is in a bad mood, pander to it and take their crap. I enrolled my 6 y-o who had never danced in a beginner ballet class. I had to enroll online, and the site wouldn't allow me to enroll in the Sat class. Since we can do the Tues class in the summer, I enrolled my daughter in Tues & added a question in the questions/comments field asking to either have her switched to Saturdays come August, or get on the waiting list if the class was full. No one responded. My daughter's 1st class was not bad (though the studio seems like a factory), and the teacher spent some time helping her. However, wks 2 and 3 were not good. The receptionist week 2 was very curt to both me & my 6 y-o, which scared my daughter. Wk 3, I had just received sad news and was very distracted when dropping her off, so I had forgotten to put her hair in a bun. I realized it immediately & told her to come back so I could do her hair. The teacher told me to do it outside, "so she doesn't disrupt the class" and then closed the door. My daughter watching what she's missing silently from the doorway is disruptive? (This is the same teacher who, wk 1 had her studio door open the entire class, & the door across the hall, and the very different music from the 2nd studio was loudly infiltrating my daughter's studio. That was not disruptive.) While silently putting my daughter's hair in a bun, one of the workers told me I was not allowed to be in the hallway watching the class & to leave. I told her I would as soon as my daughter's hair was in a bun & she could enter class. This was the second rude treatment from the front staff. Parents are allowed to watch the last 5 minutes of class. I was heartbroken to see everyone in 2 rows doing a routine that didn't look beginner & my daughter just standing against the back wall having no clue what to do, and no one addressing, helping, or even trying to include her. I approached the teacher afterward (who was different from the teacher who had started the class) and asked her if this was indeed the beginner class, and if it was, did my daughter need a different studio that caters to girls (& boys) who have never danced before? She told me she was subbing, couldn't answer my question, and to ask the woman at the front desk: Stephanie. My conversation with Stephanie began like an interrogation. She refused to believe that this was my daughter's 3rd class, claiming she had never seen her before. (Like I said above, the studio is like a factory. It's huge, with hundreds of kids, and from what I experienced, they mainly focus on their competitive dancers. So it makes sense that Stephanie would never have seen her before, even though she was there. Stephanie wasn't the woman who greeted us week 1. However, I think she was the rude, curt one week 2 that scared my daughter.) I kept repeating this was my daughter's 3rd class and tried to ask my question, but she kept repeating, "So this is your daughter's 1st week. Because I've never seen her." After about 3 minutes of this not so merry-go-round, I told her I was getting irritated and pulled out my phone to show her what I had already paid the studio for my daughter's 3 lessons. Another worker came and intervened, and the entire time this second conversation was going on, Stephanie was on her phone making incredulous and, at times, mocking faces. I turned to Stephanie to say, "I know you don't like me, which is fine..." and I wanted to finish with, but I expect better treatment of my daughter and to get an honest and polite answer to my question. However, I didn't get the chance. The 2nd woman interrupted, and began to talk at me again, but only to defend Stephanie, who continued to make her incredulous and mocking faces, which were incredibly upsetting, esp. after my daughter had been excluded, and she had refused to believe what I was telling her so we could move the conversation forward. Therefore, I told Stephanie she needed a better poker face. Finally, a third, much nicer woman intervened, but the mocking continued, so finally said, "I don't like your faces." Woman 3 said that was incredibly unkind and both claimed Stephanie hadn't made faces. However, they were next to, but slightly behind her. They didn't have a clear or even good view. I was standing right in front of her. I had an excellent view. I gave them my required 30 days notice that I would be leaving the studio. The nicer woman (Krystal?) said it was competition season, it would get better, and asked me to ride this out, but I left the studio crying anyway from Stephanie's sheer callousness. If non-competitors are going to get left behind every competition season, it's not worth riding out. I also danced for years and competed, and nothing like this ever happened with beginners at my studio: constant subbing the teacher out, ignoring beginners, mocking parents with legitimate questions... My daughter told me that she wants to do ballet, but didn't have much fun at Rage. I asked if she thought she was learning anything. "No." read more

Teachers and instruction is excellent whether your looking for just recreational dance or competition team dance. This place is a one stop shop from jazz to hiphop and to any other style of dance you may be interested they got it. They even offer tumbling class for those who are looking to learn tumbling. I'm writing this review because my daughter and I absolutely love The Rage Entertainment Complex. My daughter has been dancing for few years, beginning with a different dance studio prior to The Rage. While my daughter absolutely LOVES all kinds of dance, this other prior dance studio ultimately turned out to be very disappointing. But, then, fortunately, we found The Rage, which has been absolutely amazing! The Rage offers dance classes for many different types of dance, and customizes the dance classes to different levels of skill and experience (unlike the prior dance studio we went to, which often had all skill levels mashed unproductively into the same class). We are so grateful that The Rage has fantastic dance instructors who are incredible dancers themselves, but also great at teaching children how to dance; great technical teaching ability along with friendly and supportive personalities. And, the owner, Veda, is very friendly, very well organized, and is very professional. The Rage is also great at communicating with parents by email and phone calls about anything necessary to provide the best dance instruction experience for the children. I receive regular email updates about upcoming classes, schedules, events, activities, etc., which helps me feel very informed and which enables me to plan our busy lives very efficiently and effectively when it comes to my daughter's dance classes. My daughter has been enjoying The Rage for over a year now, and has participated in all sorts of amazing dance classes, including hip-hop, jazz, ballet, contemporary, and tap. She always tells me how much fun she has at The Rage, and how much she looks forward to her dance classes there. I have just recently brought my daughter to take Monday night hip-hop classes with Brooklyn who is great by the way and this review has absolutely nothing to do with him. It has everything to do with how rude the older ladies Who work in the office are, I don't know which one is the owner and I would like to assume that the owner wouldn't treat parents the way though I was treated. Brooklyn has started his class a parent and I were outside looking through the door when one of the older ladies walks in between us rolling her eyes and shuts the door close in our face without saying anything! I was absolutely taken back by how rude she was! I mean literally slammed the door in her face and walked off without saying excuse me or I need to close the door while they're in session. A couple minutes later I walked into the office to ask a question (which wasn't answered by the way) and as I was walking out the two older ladies in the office whisper something to each other I started giggling... The energy in this facility is very off the owner along with the co-owner or whoever the lady it is are not welcoming at all!!! I would never recommend this place to anybody! It is very unfortunate because we very much enjoyed Brooklyn's class we will now be seeking elsewhere for a better positive environment and hopefully Brooklyn has classes and other facilities. Incredible facility with amazing staff! My daughter loves the classes and the instructors have made her a better dancer. Fantastic teaching overall! And...with COVID-19, no one missed a beat as the virtual classes offered allowed everyone to stay up to speed or even rise to meet their potential! Worst place ever. I'd give it 0 stars if I could. The people inside the little store they run which by the way is so overpriced, give attitude and treat customers badly. They just want to run your credit card thru their Square and charge you extra fees. I ordered my daughter's ballet shoes (cause of course they did not have her size) and was told they'll be in in a week. I paid them as i was asked to. Next Monday before her next class, of course the shoes were not in. With a smile on her face she told us that she should practice with no shoes...and Wednesday they'll be in. So far I like this place, it's close to home and the place is filled with so much energy and excitement. The students here seem like they really love dancing and enjoy going to the rage. My daughter has been going to the Rage for the last 5 years. Its more than just a place to take classes its more like a family. Over the years my daughter has turned from little miss shy girl to the great performer she has become. She is also in their Hollywood Launch Program. WOW WHERE CAN I BEGIN.. There is so much to be said about this Dance School that it is not enough space nor time to write a honest review about everything that goes on in this school. First of All the Professionalism DOES NOT EXIST AT ALL.. there is no respect for parent nor students. This school is designed as a big melting plot to obtain as much money from you as possible while looking as if your child's needs are being met. There is not one consistent DANCE Teacher. Classes are taught by untrained teenagers ranging anywhere from 13-15 years of age Half of the time your child will be stuck doing the splits for unknown amount of times. Levels are not evaluated properly, and some children are Favored over others. Those are the Children who succeed in this program while you are made to watch and pay and be told that this too can be your child. Safety is Not a priority nor is hygiene. Tumbling classes are taught by untrained Teenagers and often not monitored. Mats and equipment are never wiped down and the school is often dirty. Especially the tumbling room. The owner is BY Far the Leader of the Pack, along with her daughter, who in 2012 still addresses a child By that LIL BLACK GIRL... Now being that a Child is the Only Black Girl in the class I'm sure its another way To identify her but non the less this is how professional Mrs VEDA and MRS TIFFANY are. Routines are recycled and you will often find your child repeating the same moves over and over and over and over again, Technique is not a priority and while paying 400$ your child still needs to take privates to learn the fundamentals of dance 101 "HOW TO SPOT" Don't be fooled by the Glitz and Glamor that is tying to be portrayed by this school. Everything that Glitters isn't GOLD My Daughter Danced at this school for 3 yrs and I've finally had enough of being ripped off. LIKE the owners Says... I OWN THIS GYM... instead of trying to be professional that is the only response they know how to say. Your child will never receive what your are paying for with the way they communicate to their students and parents Its funny cause They will constantly say I am doing this for your child and i am doing this for your child. as if you should be grateful but you are paying for a service they should be doing for your child but the reality is THEY are not doing anything but making a HUGE profit. OH wow. i keep trying to close this review out but i am reminded by more and more of the ridiculous things that goes on at the Rage dance school.. I recall purchasing a costume for my daughter and wanted to try it on properly and was told By Tiffany you get what we Give you. as if i didn't just pay 150.00 for a Target shirt in which i saw at the store on the clearance rack for 6.98 with a rage Sticker on it that was placed on at the local printing shop for 5 dollars. But although i paid for it i was told i couldn't try it on my child and she has to get whatever VEDA or Tiffany said.. PLEASE AND PLEASE DON'T SEND YOUR CHILD TO THE DANCE CAMP. I took my very shy daughter to this studio 8 years ago. She was a "leg clinger"..wouldn't talk to anyone and hung to my leg peeking out from behind me. She went with two friends and took her first Jazz class. It was that day that I saw something in her I hadn't seen before. She blossomed! She was smiling, she was moving, and most of all having fun. She DID have moments of panic and shyness for months though where she would cry from inside the room and reach for me. But I kept her in there for two reasons. One was because those small glimpses of joy made me hopeful that she would continue to bloom, and second, because her amazing teacher Ms. Veda would personally pick her up and carry her around on her hip allowing her to help teach the class. This simple gesture would calm her down and I knew right then that they truly cared about their students, not just as students but as people. My son was dragged along to watch. He was five. He soon started crying in the window because he wanted to dance too. So I thought "well it couldn't hurt!" He took his first class that year and just rocked it! My children starting taking off from there. There were moments of frustration and disappointment when they didn't maybe do as well as they hoped, whether it was in class or at a competition, but Ms. Veda and Ms. Tiffany always were there to encourage them and tell them that did amazing. Ms. Veda truly wants the best for the kids. She wants them happy and thriving, as well as having as many opportunities as they can. She works day and night to make things "happen" and she has always been fully accessible to talk, giving us her cell phone so we can reach her. That's rare! Her daughter Tiffany took my kids to the next level. Her expertise in dance and amazing choreography and work ethic pushed my kids to reach their potential. She is tough but caring, she is stern but loving. Both Veda and Tiffany are not just teachers to us, they have become family. The entire Rage has become our second family. I have confidence when I drop them off there that they are safe and well taken care of. And I know that if they need anything, any of the other Moms there will take care of them. That's how we are at the Rage. We are all there for each other to help in any way. I can't say enough about how the Rage has changed our life. My children's self confidence, ability to deal with adults, handle touch challenges in life and school have all been learned from the Rage. What wonderful blessings. It was been 8 years since those first moments. I know we will be there for many more. I highly recommend this studio to anyone thinking of getting their child involved in dance. My daughter joined the Rage 2 months ago. She has always been a naturally talented little girl who loves to dance. Since coming to The Rage, her love for dance and her skills have improved ten fold. I gave my 30 day notice to quit and they said they wouldn't charge me again, but they continued to charge me and it was impossible to get my money back. They are VERY hard to reach when it comes to getting money back but easy to reach when it's time to pay money. I have to eat the loss!!! When they show you the dancers at Rage they tell you that the girls dance several hours a day at least 5 days a week. I have one friend there that dances 3 hours a day, pretty much every day. They recommend you take 3 classes a week - which gets pricey. They also say you have to take summer camp if you plan to be on a dance team. Dance Team costs money every time you go to a competition. Plus you have to buy the expensive costumes. The recital costume is expensive. Then you are required to buy at least 2 tickets to watch the recital. And if you take more than one class you may have to buy tickets to the morning recital and then tickets to the evening recital. I felt constant pressure to take more classes. If you miss a class you have 30 days to make it up and you need to remember to get a ticket to do the makeup class. It's a very high pressure environment to pay more, do more, dance more. If your child is an intense dancer, this is a good place to be. But don't come here expecting to take one class, simply do a recital and feel good. Your child will never feel equal to the other dancers here unless dance is your life and you've got the money to pay for it. read more

My daughter has danced here for four years with The LA Hip Kids. She has loved being in the group and has learned valuable stage presence by performing all over Los Angeles. My daughter and I have met some of our best friends here. The studio itself is one of a kind with a great interior. When I tried to cancel because of this, Brittney aggressively said I would have to pay for one more month even if my Daughter would not attend. Since they didn't fully enroll me they didnt have a card on file to auto debit for that last month. When Brittney realized this she threatened to send me to Collections for a service they would not be providing, if I didn't pay for another full month ,very dishonest! I told her to do what she had to do and she replied that I was "hilarious". Her response was uncalled for and unprofessional. This didn't work out for us and having to cancel left a bad taste in my mouth. Brittney shouldn't take cancellations so personally. read more

I've been at the Rage for almost 2 years. I love this place, the teachers are very fun and nice. They care more about improving the child than rather just doing it for the money. They don't care if you're the best, as long as you give it all you got it's great. The training there is great, they push you to go your best. Fellow students are really nice and are very hardworking. Ms.Veda and Ms.Tiffany are just amazing. They push you to do things you never thought you could, and they have AMAZING choreography. Let's start with the staff. Never have I been so irritated with how unorganized and unprofessional the office staff is here. They treat you as if you are literally inconveniencing them every time you walk in the office. Not to mention they are just straight up rude and full of themselves. Moving on, the teachers here are always changing and have been inconsistent since I started which makes it very hard for my daughter to capture any technique. One of the main teachers in particular, Tiffany, tends to talk to the kids in a distasteful manner. She continually favors the older teen girls and any kid who's big in the industry. If you want your kid to be treated unfairly then this is the place for you! I would rather drive 2 hours away to a better dance studio then to subject my daughter and myself to this place! read more

My daughter has been going to the Rage since she was 3 years old and everyone has been wonderful to her. She has learned some amazing skills not only in dance and tumbling but life as well. They have helped teach her to be organized, disciplined, outgoing and respectful. It can get crazy there at times as they do have a lot going on, but instead of complaining about everything, I take a step back and focus on what matters, which is my daughter is happy, learning and having a blast. If they call for additional practices (which they do!), it is usually because the kids need them and the extra effort shows. From the directors (Veda and Tiffany), to all the office staff, teachers, and coaches, everyone has been caring and supportive. We are not specifically at the Rage to make my daughter a "star," but the Rage does what they can to help in this regard with all the various classes and workshops offered. The talents the kids learn here is what makes this studio stand out so brightly (in daily life, competitions and auditions)! I am thankful to be a part of such a great dance studio!!! read more

I don't know where to start with this studio...this studio was a nightmare. I went there with high hopes because of all the stars "they have trained". (Turns out, they didn't train them, the "stars" have just taken maybe 1 or 2 classes there and then The Rage thinks they've made them stars). After a month or two, I new I shouldn't have signed up for all the classes. I was being taught awful technique and was getting worse as a dancer. So, if you want to become a better dancer, I WOULD NOT GO HERE!!! The teachers always claimed to not have favorites but it was SO OBVIOUS that they did. The main owner and her daughter who is the main teacher only cared about the girls who had the most followers on Instagram and they would take their favorites to the beach for a beach day. When other people thought this was wrong, they confronted the owners and they said they invited everyone to go button one responded accept those girls. Obviously this was not true because I would have been notified, and all theater girls would have too, but no one got anything. That brings me to my next point, the studio owners are liars and thieves. The owner are continuously lying to everyone and they always make you pay more money then you need. For example, I remember paying for a $200 costume and we ended up all getting a $10 T-shirt instead. We all asked for the other money back and they refused to give it back. The actual dancing is just horrible too. I have never feel more discouraged in any other place. At this studio, my best was never good enough. In stead of helping me become a better dancer, I was compared to everyone around me, I was put down almost everyday, and the teacher also would pull me aside and ask me why I was even there because I couldn't do 10 turns (with incorrect technique). I never said anything but I should have. I mean if I can do 5 turns with correct technique, I'd rather do that than 10-20 with bad technique. Anyway, this studio is just overall not pleasant and unorganized. The teachers don't show up to classes that you pay for, the put the same 16 counts in every dance, they redo dances until multiple people start to notice a competitions. Some of the teachers there actually do not like it there, but they stay because they need a job. They make some of the parents clean the studio, they make you dance even if you have a broken foot or you have the flu, an it is just not a good experience at all. You may see the rage advertising a lot about how great their studio is, but remember, there is a reason they have to advertise....(a lot of people are leaving) read more

This place is definitely a hidden gem. My daughter has been dancing here for about 3 years now. We came from another studio that did not offer as many classes as The Rage did. There are so many options to choose from at The Rage and I would highly recommend asking for help from the office as they really helped me with my daughter. My daughter has grown tremendously over these years, thanks to all the wonderful staff and teachers there. We have enjoyed our time at this studio and wanted to let others know that it is a place you can definitely call home. read more

I am a former Dance Teacher. I have followed many of the Dance Studios since my retirement. I have visited many of the studios in the last five years; I still have a great love for dance and performing. The Rage Entertainment Complex blows me away!!! What Miss Veda can get those little boys and girls to do are miraculous. It takes someone very special to work with 3, 4, and 5 year olds. You only have to watch one class to see what great confidence she instills in them. Her classes are fast moving, so the children don't get antsy. Miss Tiffany is a dynamo. She gives the kids the perfect balance of discipline and praise. I've never seen children work so hard to please someone. During class when they perform for each other they appear really sincere cheering each other on; as a parent I love to see that. Tiffany's groups almost always wins high point at competitions. The Rage group has performed on "So You Think You Can Dance" three times. I think that says a lot about their technique and performance level. The Rage is not your typical Ballet School. You don't walk into a quite studio, where you could hear a pin drop. This is a very lively and busy studio. Everything moves very fast. Nobody has a chance to get bored. During my time as a dance teacher I've seen many children start dance but quit shortly after because it was slow moving. Most kids have a high level of energy and they want to imitate what they see on TV. . The Rage instructors know how to merge the discipline of technical dance and fun to keep a child's interest while they continue to become great performers. The Studio building is all decked out in zebra print and black and red; it has more than half dozen dance rooms, plus two huge rooms for Master Classes. Again this is not your typical white walls studio. This is a very hip place for today's kids. If you have a child that would love to be a Pop Star, learn to dance, sing, act, or tumble, this is the place. They do it all! I would just like to conclude by saying I read another review about the Rage that was not to kind. I would have to say that I have not seen any of the things they mentioned. My experience was only positive. Like I said in the beginning of my review I was a dance teacher for 30 years and my experience tells me that this parent's child probably did not get the advancement that she was hoping for. Parents don't always see their own children in a fair light; I can only hope she has found a good fit for her child. I would definitely give The Rage Entertainment Complex 5 stars. read more

I've only been there three times.When I first walked in I was impressed they seem like a very professional dance studio they display many trophies however it seems like it's all a façade. The first time we were there no body would even give us a minutes time, we found out we were there close to recital time so we left disappointed but wanted to still give it a try. We went back to friends and family week, my daughter loved the class however the whole place seems very unfriendly. Because she loved the class we decided to enroll, they never seemed to have the schedule right so once they did we went, unfortunately the class we tried out they no longer had. The second class my daughter tried was okay at the best. The place was still super unfriendly. The place has this we just want to squeeze you for every dime we can attitude and they don't even want to put a smile on their faces. They might be a good dance studio it's just not for us. read more
