My fiancé and I decided to take some couple's dance lessons here in the month leading up to our wedding. We were already down to the wire in terms of timing, but the manager, Stephanie, was so incredibly kind and accommodating. We worked with Any and she was so sweet and patient with us. She choreographed a beautiful first dance for us in a very short amount of time. We started with a package of 3 lessons, and ended up adding a couple more at the end because, well, we were pretty terrible lol, but it all worked out. The studio is open pretty late (until like 9pm or later) and there's plenty of parking in front and in back. The only thing I didn't like is that you share the studio space with others, or sometimes a class, so you have to share the music and sometimes have to maneuver around people, which can throw you off a little. read more

I've been at this studio for over four years now and I couldn't be happier. The camaraderie at the studio is amazing. The atmosphere is patient, supportive, fun, and social. If you are a student, you can attend group classes for free. They have several group classes a week that cover all sorts of different topics and are all different levels. With expert and patient instruction, I am delighted at my dancing. I am having so much fun, I am getting fit, I am learning so much. They provide several levels of activities so if you aren't comfortable going to a large event, there are regularly small events you can attend. I am grateful every day for the joy that this brings to my life. The instructors are very, very good at what they do, teaching just the right things at just the right moments so you never feel lost or overwhelmed. I highly recommend them. read more

My girlfriend and I had a lesson this past weekend with Preston, who was fantastic. Great dance advice both for my gf who has 20 years experience as a dancer and occasional salsa teacher, and great beginner assistance for me (just started a couple of months ago). He was very knowledgeable, entertaining, and did a wonderful job of splitting attention between the two of us in a way that kept us both engrossed in our individual tips, while still able to improve together as a couple throughout the lesson. My now husband and I came to Arthur Murray for private dance choreography lessons for our first dance at our wedding. Being huge Guardians of the Galaxy fans we really wanted to use Hooked On A Feeling as our first dance song. Temu was our assigned instructor and he created such a fun and wonderful choreography to the song for us to learn over the course of 10 lessons. We had so much fun with Temu each lesson, he felt like our long lost friend and our lessons really flew by. My husband and I are not dancers by any means but Temu helped us look like we knew what we were doing and are super intentional with our moves. We would highly recommend this studio and Temu specifically for any lessons or choreography you seek! No matter the difficulty of the song, he's got you!!! Hello Everyone, This Arthur Murray location is the worst of all.I Payed in advance to dance salsa and my first instructor was doing a weird noise with his mouth while he was teaching me I was like wtf on top of that he didn't know how to dance .I explained to them I needed an advanced class,but they thought I was exaggerating,then when they realized I was in another level ,the second teacher had a bad attitude.This studio only care about $$ they don't put love into teaching nor have the experience it's not even Salsa it's whitewashed. I feel so disappointed they kept my money and now I'm still looking for a salsa dance teacher that really know how to dance. If your below zero level go there cause honestly they suck. read more

I signed up for a groupon special that was 2 private lessons, a group lesson and a party for $35 so my son and I could learn to dance for his Bar Mitvah in 2 weeks. After my second lesson, we are hearded into an office where my son and I were high pressured with a sales pitch to get either 5 private lesson and 5 group/partys (like I have time for 5 parties in the next two weeks) for $1500! Or the 'better package for $2500....Ae you freakin kidding me? Do they really think that someone who is shopping, and using groupons for $35 to get 3 lessons is suddenly going to spend $1500-2500? And then, on top of it, this high pressured used car salesman has the nerve to say to me-with my son right next to me- Well, I thought you and your son Wanted to dance nicely on his special day...wow. Totally ruined our experience and our day. If you have an extra couple grand to get 10 total lessons (40 minutes in length)...so about $250 an hour...then this is the place to go. The only reason I gave 2 stars and not one is because our instructor was fun and good. read more

This has been an amazing experience. My husband and I wanted to find a physical activity to learn together. We tried bowling, golf, hiking, bicycle riding, and running, but for one reason or another all of those activities fell by the wayside after one or two weeks. One afternoon at the mall, I walked in to Arthur Murray to inquire about their programs. To my astonishment when they put my name in the computer my husband's name popped up. We both thought the other one wouldn't be interested in ball room dancing. We are in love with this activity. It has been two months and we go as often as we can get there. We are amazed at, not only our progress, but the thoughtful kind instructors and all their help. Everyone working there has one common goal; they want the students to succeed. After reading some of these reviews I felt compelled to add my opinion. Yes, they are in business to profit. Private lessons are expensive, but not as much as a private Yoga class, or a physical trainer. The cool part is, they modeled our package based on what we told them we wanted to spend. We are welcome to go there as often as we like to take part in parties, and group lessons, and any other events they schedule. When any instructor sees us struggling with a new step they march right over and show us how to boogie better. And isn't that what it's all about??? Doing better boogie??? It is for us. read more

Good luck getting your $s back if you try to leave! Contract states that you can "cancel at any time". When you sign up they say the same (made sure to confirm that a few times). In January, I requested a refund for my remaining lessons. After 2 months of back and forth, I got SOME of my money back. They said I didn't cancel several lessons within 12 hours of the start of the lesson (per the contract) and was responsible for those charges. In response, I pulled cell phone records showing that they were wrong and that I had in fact given enough notice. I sent them copies. At that point they pretty much broke off all meaningful contact. They do not return emails, nor calls. If I reach Nicki, she defers to Lacy - who isn't available. If I reach Lacy, she defers to Robert - who isn't available. I hoped to part on good terms, but their action - or lack of action really - over the last few months has tainted any good experience I had at the studio. Next step, pay for an arbiter/judge to resolve this. At least the studio has to pick up half the cost. read more

I am so impressed with this studio. I always wanted to learn how to dance, and I considered private studios and other studios and all kinds of other options. In the end I am really confident that I made the right choice by trying this place. First off, everyone is super welcoming and nice. When you first walk into a dance studio without any dance experience for your first lesson, no matter how confident you are, you feel terrified. Because the staff was so cool and welcoming and friendly, I instantly felt better. The niceness wasn't fake either. Everyone was genuinely nice. My first lesson was super fun!. My instructor is Victor who is really knowledgeable and made me feel at ease. I showed up for an actual dance party one night, thinking it was a group class. I had only one lesson, and I wanted to leave right away, but the Emelle at the front desk convinced me to stay so i did and I actually am really glad I did. The teachers make sure no one feels left out, and they have a way of including you without putting you on the spot. I hate being put on the spot in front of a crowd! On my next lesson, literally every, single person remembered my name. That takes serious effort with all the students they have, and I have respect for that. It makes you feel so at home there when people actually take the time to remember you because it makes you feel that they are grateful to have you there in the first place. Nothing is worse then spending money and then feeling like an outsider. The store manager is so wonderful and knowledgeable about dance. I just wanted to make sure I did my part to share how wonderful my experience is, in case there is anyone out there who is undecided as I was when I selected a studio. This was an amazing experience! My fiance went into this place super intimidated by the idea of dancing. Michael was our instructor and he was wonderful! He is very patient and came up with a beautiful dance for people with two left feet. If you are looking for someone to make you look good when you have never danced before, he is your man. The dance he choreographed is beautiful and makes us look like we know what we are doing! 8 days from now we will be dancing to our song at our wedding, and we are extremely confident with how it will go. We also were able to attend group classes with the wedding package and these were so much fun. All the instructors were enjoyable. My fiance and I learned dances that we never even imaged we would learn. Even if we had done those classes before, we always learned something new and established more practice. To top it off, we were extremely surprised by their customer service, they made it very personable. After signing up, we received a hand written letter thanking us for signing up. I also received a card on my birthday signed from all of the instructors. That was unexpected and made the relationship with this place even more meaningful. I am sad to see it end. My fiance and I tried their introductory lesson and had a fun time. The instructor was great and so was the front desk. We decided that would be our last lesson though. The set up reminded me of a gym membership. You go take the introductory lesson, then sit down in a room and talk about prices. They offered packages with group classes and private lessons. They also offered weekly Friday dance parties where you can practice on the dance floor. Unfortunately, with my schedule it was difficult to attend the group classes and weekly Friday dance parties. We were looking for private lessons only and their prices were too high for us. What really turned me off about this place was when they sit you down to talk about packages and their pricing they offer you a discount if you decide to buy right then and there. I don't understand why I wouldn't be able to get that same deal if I showed up the next day. I don't like that kind of pressure and I always turn away from those deals because it just makes me feel like I'm getting ripped off. Don't get me wrong, the people there seemed nice. I spent thousands of dollars at this studio to learn to dance. What I learned was that even if you have dance ability and are a quick learner you don't progress until you have paid the appropriate amount they require to move to the next level. Then if you quit taking lessons because of life circumstances and then go back to a dance party you will find that the instructors only dance with their PAYING students. If your super rich and have money to throw away then this place is for you. Don't get me wrong the teacher are great and friendly. My wife and I have been taking lessons at the Woodland Hills location since October. Our foundation instructor John was great. He is enthusiastic, patient, encouraging, thoughtful and fun. His continual encouragement and skillful instruction made learning the basics fun. We are now learning the Bronze level with Stephanie. She is fabulous and always greets us with her beautiful smile. Stephanie has really helped us improve both our basic technique and is helping refine our movement of hands and arms. We love her and look forward to every lesson. And I can't forget to mention the studio manager Lacy. When an organization is great it usually starts at the top. Lacy has attracted an outstanding group of instructors.
