The Rabbit Barn offers a generous selection of rabbit breeds to choose from. It offers meat rabbit for those interested in raising their own meat source and it also has a selection of rabbits that can be used as pets, fiber, or showing.
The barn is open to the public for viewing with an appointment only. It is a working barn and if you are visiting, remember it is a farm. Wear shoes and clothing that is farm and weather appropriate. Call in advance to check out what breeds are available at the time you'd like to visit.
The barn is open to work days, if you would like to learn more about rabbits (children old enough to be responsible) are welcome. You can experience some of the chores that have to be done, if you'd like or just come with a list of questions. The questions will get answered out of experience and knowledge of the staff.
Some of the breeds available: New Zealand, California, Mixed New Zealand/Cal's (for best meat purposes). Lionheads, mini-rex, mini-lops, holland lops, netherland dwarfs, blue eye dwarf (an exclusive breed of the Rabbit Barn), and occasionally other breeds.
The Rabbit Barn offers a 'take back' policy for unwanted rabbits that are bought as pets and later become unwanted. We never want to see a rabbit left unwanted that was purchased from our barn! As long has it is healthy, we can give it a home.
We hope to see you at the barn, if only for a tour. read more
