I've been to plenty of PetSmarts. This place was kind of on the sad side. They have the same thing as most PetSmart does but it just kind of looked beat up and run down. I only saw one employee who is the young lady who was working the counter to check out my purchase. never had any issues out of this place until today. I went in to buy crickets for my tree frog, like I do every week and they didn't have any except for the small ones which are way too small for her but that really wasn't a problem. the young dark haired girl who helped me with the crickets was very nice and helpful, she even offered me a discount on the crickets I did buy. I made my way up to the register, nobody in line, it was just me. And the cashier saw me walk up to her register and pretty much ignored me for about 5 minutes. when she finally came to do her job, she started "price checking" an item for another customer that was behind me. So I pulled my stuff back and moved out of the way and said "oh I guess you're helping another customer first." and she gets an attitude and said "I was price checking something for her." and proceeded to slam my crickets down into the bag while she checked me out. so I paid and she slammed my receipt into my bag and threw the bag in my face. the level of immaturity, lack of professionalism and SHIT customer service is unbelievable and pretty sad. I shop at this location all the time, and this cashier always has a bad attitude and rude demeanor, but today was the worst. I don't see how she has kept her job, but she definitely should not be in any kind of customer service position at all. I'm a retail manager myself and if any of my employees acted the way this asshole did, they wouldn't have a job at my store any more. hopefully petsmart will choose to be proactive and solve this issue, but considering she still works there, I'm sure they'll probably ignore all the complaints and continue to let her treat customers like shit. read more

Took my dog for full grooming. One week later she has yeast infection in her ears. She is three years old and has never had and issue. I had to get a vet tech friend to clean her ears and medicate them. I paid for full bath grooming and anything they offer. 94$. Don't mind the cost but my baby is misery. I usually bath her myself and put cotton in her ears. But she has a full blown yeast infection! Plus I asked them not to clipper her rear too short and she's bald and now itchy. First and foremost my dog, really puppy, took classes at the Petsmart on Haynes Mall Blvd Winston Salem NC. So I wanted to pay it forward and get her groomed there as well. Karen was amazing. That's why I decided to go back. I work quite a bit, thankful to be able to! Covid has been in our world but hopefully we're all healthy.!!! So long story short, my puppy was born in covid times. Shes a resscue . A bit of separation anxiety there, but thats not abnormal. Poor thing doesn't know how to be dropped off and I'm not there. I understand that! Not Petsmarts fault by the way. I know the rules. We can't be there I get it. But she got shampooed,...I couldn't be there of course and was nervous. I got a call 2 hours later that she was in a crate because she was aggressive supposedly. She is a puppy. She is nervous and doesn't like baths. I bathe her on the regular at home, but have been busy at work so thought to send some business to Petsmart. I got there as soon as I got off work she was not aggressive, just nervous. The girls there,...and again were very nice....could probably tell you so. She didn't like a bath in a place she didn't understand. I was told she was wet in the crate. You better believe I got there with a quickness. I did not get charged because they couldn't do anything....do trust I am an understanding human. I still tipped $20 BC my pup threw up in her anxiety and I know they had to deal with it. I will probably just take her elsewhere. The staff was very nice when I came. Please don't scrutinize them. However my dog was in a crate for 2 hours scared. Just not a good experience. read more

I USED to take my 2 Schnauzers here. Last time I took them (couple years ago) I witnessed and heard a groomer THREATEN a Schnauzer on her grooming table if they didn't behave. NO DOG DESERVES THIS!!!!! I said 'nobody had better talk to either of my dogs like that!!!' Then they asked me if my dogs were UTD on flea and tick medicine and I said 'yes'. Well, they came home INFESTED with seed ticks (I had never seen anything like that -- had to use magnifying glass to see them and had to look up online to find out what they were called. OUR PRECIOUS BABIES WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!! read more

Took my dog in for a bath and brushing. She came out soaking wet and was not brushed. Her fur was still matted. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I bought a fish tank from there and it was cracked we brought it back and the other one was cracked! I also bought fish from there and they have the ones I already had a disease. But they do have a wide selection of fish. read more

GROOMING: AVOID!! Made appointment online & had the total for grooming. Went to store & they tried to charge more. When we showed our print-out of the costs, they treated us like we'd done something wrong & said begrudgingly they'd honor it "this time". When we picked up our dog, it was as if they took it out on her by giving her the worst haircut ever!! We vowed never to go there again. Now, 8 weeks later, we get a phone message that she has another appointment. I called to see how in the world that happened & they told me they are now AUTO-booking 8 weeks out! I never asked for such a service & it worries me that they will charge some fee on the credit card I used to pay last time for not showing up. DON'T TRUST THEM!! VERY DISHONEST!! And taking it out on the dogs is DISGUSTING!! read more

My wife took both our puppies to get groomed and not only did they scalped one of their paws leaving my dog unable to walk and returned to me ungroomed and with a cast on. The other dog got his genitals shaved leaving him with severe pain any time we try to grab him. These people have no clue what they are doing. I wouldnt trust anyones dog w them. This was the worst experience I've had with a dog grooming service EVER! First, I booked my appointment for 9a.m. and was not able to actually get in the store and see someone about the dog grooming until 9:20. I was told that it was curbside pick up due to a global pandemic, yet, no one came to get my dog and I had to go inside and wait in line. By the time we got inside, other dogs had been brought in. Additionally, I knew my dog needed to go through express cleaning because she does not enjoy caging, so I placed that in the comments with the explanation that I was aware of the $13 up charge. At 9:40, that's right 40 minutes after her appointment was to begin, I was told that she could not be seen because the express appointment was not booked correctly. There was no place to make express online and they said "oh you have to call". One nice worker said since she was the first dog she could get her done; however, Mark, the store manager, said no because even he was having a hard time booking appointments for his own boxer! Not only was this trip a total waste of time, but how inconsiderate and self-absorbed does one have to be to think that after wasting your time they should begin to talk about their own first world problems. That shows a total lack of compassion for your customers and your animal clientele. I would recommend Carole Baskin from Tiger King before I'd recommend this place! read more
