Update .. sadly many shops & Restaurants that I used to frequent closed down due to economic downturn and also change in the demographics. But on the upside, there are a few new shops that opened, e.g. a Korean restaurant that I will for sure try out on my next visit, they are still very pet friendly and most restaurants and shops welcome our furry friends! What's not to like about The Pulse? It's a tourist trap with lots of restaurants, shops, and beach access with a restroom on the shore where you can shower off. Plus there's a temple where people come, take cash, and rub it all over the statues for luck and it's a sight to see. My mom is sitting off in the corner, all bitter, reciting Bible verses about how idols "have eyes but they cannot see. They have ears but they cannot hear." Okay mom, it's their country and their culture, so relax. God will meet them where they are when it's time. Clean restrooms and very modern. I'd love to come back and visit again because they had a beverage place that serves drinks in a coconut husk, which is what mom really wanted to try. They also have a cool pub like place and I was wanting some wings. The only down side I'd see for locals is having to work their way around all the tour buses that pull up here and take up some road, but for me, it was fun. read more

This is a great new addition to Repulse Bay. Now you can enjoy the beach and stroll right up to the open air restaurants and cafes on the ground floor of The Pulse. Dining options are really where this mall excels. Aside from that, the actual shopping options are quite limited. There's some sandal and similar novelty shops. The bulk of the stores however focus on children's clothing and toys. Unbelievably, there's even a high-end beauty salon for kids here..quite bizarre IMO. On the more normal side, there is a great play area for the little ones on the 2nd floor. Excellent for kids 2-7 yrs old. For families, the mall is actually very stroller friendly and is not very crowded at all. This is probably due to the general lack of store options and the omission of MTR subway access. But in a city that is typically in-your-face overcrowded, we really enjoyed the Oceanside view, al fresco dining and absence of ear-piercing crowds. read more

Very refreshing strip mall. It feels like a resort place like Hawaii or even California coast. The stores and restaurants feel curated. Very Westernized or Americanized. So much so that you can't help but notice who is hanging out here...like young white people. Maybe it is even too Americanized for Hong Kong. Either way, it's nice little oasis. Grab a drink, grab coffee and take in the killer ocean view at Repulse Bay. I bought a rugby ball souvenir from Escapade Sports. read more

A new choice for spending an afternoon in a weekend. While this place is yet to be overcrowded like Stanley, it is quite relaxing to stroll around the shops iin the mall and have a coffee in one of the coffee shop by the beach. read more

Thought this shopping mall was a nice retreat from being outside in the sun. It is very welcoming with a clean seating interior, shopping, free wifi and child friendly play areas. During my visit in late July they had a ice cream event going on that I thought was super Instagram friendly and interactive for all ages. read more

HK may be one of the most densely populated cities of the world. Looking for a way to escape the bustling city life? Repulse Bay Beach it is! While u're at Repulse Bay, it's impossible to overlook "The Pulse", a brand new shopping mall, situated on the beach promenade. Parts of the shopping centre are still under construction and u will notice some empty shop fronts. Still, The Pulse is heaven-on-earth for ice cream lovers and u'll probably be confronted with "The Paradox of Choice": Lab Made (liquid nitrogen ice cream) VS Häagen-Daz.
