Dylan provided excellent rehabilitation care on my left leg and has been incredibly supportive & inventive regarding rehabilitating of my right leg. Additionally one of the best parts of the rehab experience on Baum Blvd is the entire professional staff. I especially am impressed by the service Shanell N at the front desk. She is always cheerful & accommodating regarding any of my appointment or insurance issues.

Allegheny General Hospital outpatient center is an offshoot of Allegheny General Hospital. Various…read moremedical offices are located there including primary care, women's health, orthopedic surgery, digestive health, and the list goes on. The center is also equipped for diagnostic testing including an endoscopy unit and MRI. I've been to this location on a number of different reasons to see either a physician or have a procedure. During this particular visit I came for an MRI of my knee. Co-Vid guidelines are in place and are strictly enforced. After answering the usual screening questions I was escorted back by a technician who explained the procedure and addressed my concerns. Everything went well with the test and I was out of there fairly quickly. The first floor has a small grab and go for food. Internet reception here is very poor. Suggest go outside if you need to make phone call. Due to HIPAA restrictions photography is strictly prohibited in the facility. Across the entrance they have a parking garage which fills very quickly if you don't get there early. Parking is on par with Allegheny General Hospital. Expect to pay $7.00 minimum for the 1st two hours of your visit. Unfortunately in all my visits here not one practice validates parking for any discount. I have been pleased otherwise will all my visits to this facility. They are located on E North Ave not far from Allegheny General Hospital.

Where to start? So Last Saturday my 21 year old daughter realized something was wrong with her…read morevision. So I told her to get to Med express. They triaged her and sent her to West Penn. After 3 hours in the ER they said, "We don't have an eye DR on call... go home and come back tomorrow." I said NO GOING HOME! This is your eye. So I sent her to Mercy. They diagnosed a retinal detachment immediately and scheduled surgery for Monday AM with bedrest Sunday. So Monday- her father took her to the first surgery. Both eyes needed done. I wasn't at this surgery, but they allowed her dad to go back before surgery since she's young. They hard a hard time getting her IV in but one of the nurses, Nancy, sat with her and talked to her the entire time. Fast forward to today. I found out at 4 I was taking her (her dad had wanted to but that's another story). I'm two hours away so she got herself to the hospital and I drove there as quickly as I could. I got there and pushed the button to enter the parking garage. Flew in and parked. After going up, I realized I'd forgotten to get a ticket. OOOPS! So they allowed me to go back with Abbey while they got her ready. They were absolutely AMAZING. Every single person we encountered treated her like she was their only patient today. The anesthesiologist told her step by step what they'd do and why. The Resident came in and told her step by step what they'd do. And then the Dr came and went over it again. In the mean time Nancy came in and raved about Abbey and what a joy she was and what a great job I did with her. Abbey goes back for surgery and it lasts a pretty long time. A nurse, Adrien, was walking by to grab another family member and told me it was taking a while but it's a long tedious surgery. She didn't have to stop and offer that info. Then, later she came out and as she came out for someone else I saw my daughter had gone into recover ii so I assumed i could go back soon. I said , "OH she just changed, does that mean I can come back soon?" She said, "Come with me now". :) In recovery Nancy stopped again to rave about Abbey. She said she wished she could hug her but obviously couldn't. Gave her some air hugs LOL Abbey's nurse was also super kind but I'm sorry I forget her name! So it dawned on me I'd forgotten the ticket and explained I'd have to figure that out. Her nurse called down (was it Linda?) and asked the parking person about us getting out The lady she spoke to said no we'd have to pay $22 as opposed to $2. Even though we had the same day surgery discount pass just not the main ticket. Well! The head nurse. Wait..maybe she was Linda? walks down to the parking garage and tries to retrieve us a ticket. it won't work. So she stops and speaks to James- the parking guy. He says, "Bring them down" so we go down. She says "James, these are the friends I told you about" I tried to give James my discount ticket so I can pay my $2. He refused and said, "You're not paying anything for parking!" Totally not what I expected, but what a sweetheart. So in the end, I'm thankful West Penn kicked her out because UPMC Mercy you kick butt!

While everyone truly has their own physical recovery to work…read morewith - I kept throwing them curve balls with one thing after another - what started out as an arthroscopic rehab of my knee (meniscus) turned into head-scratching regressions after visible wins - nonetheless - I got stronger, developed a deep respect for their knowledge, skill, professionalism and - not letting me take things too seriously - great times at PTN/Strip - bonus - I am now well versed in bio- and physio mechanics - LOL - VMO, Gastroc, Soleus, 1-MTP, hahaha - they all work together behind the scenes - thank you! I'll be sure to drop in, now and again - maybe on a Thursday at 4:30p - hahaha -

I have been to other PTs in Pittsburgh that thought shame would work as a therapy tactic, didn't give clear guidance of how long we'd be working together, and didn't do some of the basics like measuring my legs before starting PT. When I got to PTN, it was like a breath of fresh air. Mike was super upfront with me about the amount of therapy sessions needed, what every week would look like, and the results we could expect. They went above and beyond with treatment and spent so much time with me every session. They are truly focused on excellence and results. They are also so flexible if I needed to change my appointment time or if traffic made it so I was a few minutes late. Seriously, they're the best! Every week I showed up and was reminded how strong I was and that I was going to feel better soon. I'm 9 weeks into therapy (it's my last week) and I'm going to be really sad to not see the folks at PTN every week. But, as predicted, I'm walking without pain and have all of the skills to continue moving through life pain-free which is the absolute best outcome. Thank you Mike, Mikey, Heather, and Kate for all of the laughs, and all of your help with my achilles!
