More like 3 1/2 stars. Part of the problem is that I loved their old location -- the $.99 cents produce market near Sample Road. I liked that it was a funky warehouse and that prices were really crazy cheap. And I always found something to try. This is their "new" location and its cleaner and fresher and has more options -- like frozen foods, seafood, meat, cold cuts, cooked foods, etc. etc. -- but many things are a tad pricier, and it is more like a regular market. The place is located in a strip on Powerline Road just north of Atlantic Blvd. The strip center has a school and the Poverello Thift store. The parking lot is always busy with cars. So, you may have to drive around a bit to find a space -- especially if they are doing one of their giveaways (they did free blueberries this past weekend.) There are still bargains, but the key is to know your prices. As in, "what would you be paying in your regular supermarket?" (not Publix), so you can gauge if it is a "deal" or just the same price or more than you'd normally pay. The last time we went, there were some fruits and vegetables that were comparable in price to Walmart, a few items cheaper, and a few that were the same or more expensive. Price isn't always the only comparison you should use, either. Quality of products are another thing to consider. There are still some packaged goods, but not as many. And not all at 99 cents by any means. I do miss getting more of these salvaged items. The new place is much closer to our residence, so I'm sure we will be stopping by again and again. But now, we will need to be a bit more selective in our buying.

I think this new location is perfect because of how much bigger it is! They have way many more options and still the great amazing prices from their previous location. The store was clean, and it was easy to locate items. They even had guacamole tasting inside which I was informed it's made fresh everyday! I will definitely be coming back for more groceries! All the employees were very helpful, and friendly! I saw many cleaning, stocking, and helping others! I couldn't believe the prices when I saw Starbucks coffee for 1.99$ I was in awe! I don't know how they do it but they have unbelievable prices!

Fresh fruits and vegetables. Meats, deli and hot food served here.

Average quality, high prices. Their old location was bomb and this one is a dud…read more In my humble opinion, the pompano store rocked. 80% of their items were fair priced and 20% were great bargains! They always encouraged me to come back, and I did. Quality is OK day-of. Most of it needs to be eaten quickly. For instance their watermelon or mangoes wont be good after a week. That's fine but $5.99/small melon or $1/mango are almost as bad as publix. Not quite but almost. Where's the deals? If its expensive, Where's the high quality? I respect their game and wish them luck but sadly its a closed chapter for me. Its not that im not going to return out of spite, but I wont be returning simply because there's no point to. Theres no deals or anything amazing anymore. Best of luck

More like a 2.5 today. It's sad because I really liked shopping here…read more I don't know what happened to the store. They used to have beautiful fresh fruits and vegetables, a nice freezer section. I even bought a tomato tree here once. I don't come often since it's not close, but every once in a while when I'm going to Costco, I'll just drive down a little bit further and stop in and pick up some things. I was so disappointed today. They've gotten rid of 99% of freezer section and they have the old cases for sale, so that's the end of that. Today they had long tables of garbage thrown on top and I'm not quite sure what it was, but people were digging through like it was some flea market garage sale. The entire store has changed and in my opinion not for the better. I was able to pick up a couple of avocados at 3 for a $1, a bag of potatoes so I can make mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving, some tomatoes, and that's about it. I did notice that they had a table full of hot pickle tomatoes that expired 9/20/2025 so that did it for me. I don't understand why you would put out food no matter what price it is, after the expiration date. The other thing that bothered me was the 4% fee for credit card. I know as a fact, if you have the right credit card processing you pay 1.9%. They also had a tip jar at the check out...for what... so the salaried employee can slide your purchases across a scanner and you can put the items in the bags you bring. No one packs your bags here and they don't even have plastic or paper bags. With all the fees, the prices aren't any less than TJs or Aldi. I know now, I don't ever have to drive down here again.
