Let me tell you a story... a while back I went to a place I will not name, for a Brazilian, I had the worst experience of my life! I was scared, trembling, nervous...you name it. It was so awful that the person even tore part of my skin off. I told myself I'd never do it again. A few months ago, my sister told me that she goes to the Pretty Kitty and suggested I go. I told her about my experience and said no but she insisted so I decided to go. We made our appointment and when I got there, the place feels very calm and soothing. Nonetheless, I was shaking! Shaughnessy happened to be the one I saw. I was so scared and I told her about my prior experience. Shaughnessy was so understanding. She explained everything to me. She made me feel very comfortable and even made me laugh! I felt like I was just hanging out with a friend while getting my Brazilian. I've been going ever since and I make sure I see her. I haven't had a Brazilian wax in years..too many bad ones in my past, but after reading all the great Yelp reviews, I decided to roll the dice, and give Pretty Kitty a shot. After braving the gauntlet of the parking lot, I arrived at 4:55 for my 5:00pm appointment. Katie introduced herself, showed me to a room, got down to business, and I was back at the front desk in 17 minutes flat. The waxing was quick, less painful than a teeth cleaning, and less humiliating than you'd think, considering the vulnerable (but necessary) positions you find yourself in. Thanks to Katie's professional, yet casual manner, it all seemed normal and natural. I got a great post-wax care kit, along with a detailed explanation on skin care do's and don'ts. I went and paid 65.00 for a Brazilian wax unfortunately when I got home I saw I still had hair in some places. You really can't complain because there is no mirror to check while your there. I think it might be a good idea to go over the work with your customers and if there are any issues fix them right there and then. The young lady who did my waxing made it very very comfortable. The receptionists have always been friendly and personable. The best thing about this location is Katie. Scared.. Vulnerable... 2 words a woman can feel when getting her first Brazilian. But no need to fear! The aestheticians at The Pretty Kitty have got you covered... I've been coming to the same location for almost two years and I come religiously every 6 weeks since a Brazilian is part of my regular maintenance... And yes, ladies, I still have the aesthetician tell me before she's about to go over that middle section (ya'll know what I'm talking about) so I can do my breathing exercises (woosahhh).. But here's the run-down: There is rarely very much parking because the lot is small but shares spaces with so many other businesses. The facility is very clean and well-maintained. Also, the aestheticians don't double dip in the wax. Make an appointment. The whole process takes about 5-10 minutes and the appointments are booked 15 minutes apart. This business takes walk-ins, but you may have to wait awhile if you have no appointment. With that being said, don't be late! If you're 5 or more minutes late, it's difficult to fit you into the schedule since the appointments are only 15 minutes apart. I've never felt the need to make an appointment based on which aesthetician is available... all of them are great and have been trained the same way. Less than 15 minutes later and you come out with a Pretty Kitty?! (Oh this name is the absolute best.) HAHA I'm game! And sorry boys... Girls only ;) read more
