I made a reservation (admittedly same day in the morning) and arrived to a packed right up to the door waiting "area" with no way to make anyone aware we were there as there was barely space to breathe, and had anyone wanted to leave we would all have had to go back outside to allow it (to give you an idea of how small the space was). After about 10 minutes we were close enough to see a server and say a reservation name, she asked for a moment, and walked off, fair, then came back and asked the party one before us who were seated nearby to get up and move elsewhere, which i have literally never seen anyone do and was frankly shocked that they would do that, nevermind in front of us. Unfortunatly this set the tone for the entire visit. A server did come over fairly quickly and ask if we had drink orders, but two of our party are not from Canada so were restricted to WiFi, of which there isnt a public password available anywhere and the menus are QR based, which i do appreciate given the changing menu, however there should be at least one hard copy available for situations exactly like this. After this we waited around for a wifi password which allowed one more of our party to connect, but the last member was still unable to throughout the entire visit, for no obvious reason. Around 40 minutes into our visit we were finally blessed with another visit from a server (they dont have set tables and only the first introduced herself so i dont have names) she was INCREDIBLY rude when taking our drink order and seemed generally inconvinienced by our presence, she also asked for a flavour choice on a drink (from our non menu bearing member) and she had missed that there was a choice, and therefore said she wasnt sure sorry, the server made zero effort to list the options (i have seen servers list less options from more packed menus) and again was incredibly rude about it. After this interaction she also made us aware that the second table for two our party of four was using, "needed to be kept empty" and directed us to share one single table for two, and i mean a table for two here, between us four. Two in the booth seating side (which blocked anyone getting to said empty table) and two on two chairs, which even when shoved right up against the edge of the next raised seatinf area, did not fit side by side at the table leaving one party member half between the empty table and the parties table. It should be noted this extra table remained completely empty throughout our visit, and no reason was stated (if it was to be clear to get large drink presentations to tables/reserved/they just wanted to see if they could). The menu does state that drinks may take a while to arrive, however, we ordered one of the "specialty" drinks, 3 regular menu drinks and four shots, and i feel an hour and a half into our visit we should have at least seen the shots. BUT those came last. The non alcoholic mojito (lime flavour) tasted like concentrated lime juice, no sign of the mint the menu also states it has, the non alcoholic butterbeer, was 90% ice and tasted like watered down whatever they were aiming for, deff nothing special and not anything id have said was butterbeer based on the thousand recipies out there, what I ve made myself, and what ive had at any other HP themed places. Pistachio bourbon wasnt mixed or given anyway to mix, so it was a layer of syrup in the bottom of the glass and then the bourbon so didnt really give the desired effect. Honestly extremely dissapointing given the prices. In the hour and a half we were waiting for our drink order, nobody had checked if we wanted to order food, infact it was difficult to even get a server unless we were willing to walk over to the other end of the crowded bar to where there were servers chatting with each other. We chose to use this as a sign to NOT order food and go elsewhere. Once we asked for our bill, the server suddenly became very chatty, and friendly, honestly it was like a full personality transplant occured, wonder why! They were out of paper to print a reciept and showed it to us at a distance on the tablet they have, unable to clearly see a total i have no idea if we were subject to the 20% gratuity mentioned, nor do we have a copy for ourselves, the menu does mention this applies to parties of 6, however reviews imply its added regardless. So overall we spent almost 2 hours, spent over $110 for subpar drinks and horrific service. The place itself looks vaguely harry potter, but like, harry potter walked into a christmas tree and lost the fight. It was hard to see the main draw of the bar (the theme) through ALL the christmas decor, lights and neon wall lighting, which was dissapointing. I had been waiting for a long time to come here specifically with my HP loving family, and this was very much not it. I had the best evening here tonight! If you're a Harry Potter fan, you MUST go. If you like interesting cocktails, you MUST go! If you just want to hang out and do something fun for IG or TicToc - you should go! The staff was lovely. There was lots of space on Sunday night, but we did make an open table reservation. We learned it's a family owned business, and they add new things all the time. They recently added Tarot Reading and Palm Reading for fun extras - we didn't do this tonight, but it looked fun. Every space of the restaurant is themed Harry Potter. So much attention to detail! Definitely go through Platform 9-3/4 to use the restroom! The highlight was the long list of themed cocktails. We each ordered 2, and they all came with elaborate decor. I had the 50 shades of the Dark Lord, which was delicious! I also had the goblet of fire which came with flames and a show! Perfect! The staff really added to the fun. Food was good. We had some basic dishes - wings, burger, and ckn tenders. All good. Desserts are not to me missed. We ordered all 3 on the menu - a carrot cake, a chocolate brownie, and butter beer popcorn. All delicious!! I will definitely be back!!! Honestly not a great experience overall. Went in for our friends birthday, only half of us got food. The drinks take a while here due to the experience which was totally fine. That wasn't the issue at all. But, let me tell you about our food and service experience cause that was something totally separate! For one poutine it was $9 on special and all it was, was fries gravy and a tiny bit of shredded cheese. Our mama ordered a chicken burger and asked for no spicy sauce. It came out with buffalo sauce so we sent it back, when some of our food came. At this point, only half the table got food. After 30 minutes, the burger that wasn't correct, never came and neither did the missing meals. We ordered quesadillas and they finally came with no fries, when we ordered fries, and they were cold. They also left cranberries on them when we ordered them without, so we sent it back. Clearly, the kitchen completely missed the mods. At this point, the missing burger still hadn't come. After we sent our food back we attempted to just cancel the missing burger and the quesadilla and fries, as at this point it had been over an hour since we initially ordered food. It took almost another full hour to get our bills. The bills were very wrong, we corrected them FOUR times. They only took off the food that we didn't get. Then they sent out another round of shots as an "apology" - however two of the three people that completely missed meals and didn't get their food were pregnant, so the shots did us no good. They sent us lychee juice as fake shots, but those cost no money so they didn't really comp the pregnant people who completely didn't eat. During the resolution process, the manager proceeded to throw her own server under the bus and tell us that the server stopped our mother's second meal because of Buffalo sauce again, but no one communicated that to us which accounts for our missing chicken burger. - the server clearly was stressed and the manager made it super clear that the whole thing was somehow her fault. Kind of embarrassing that you can't take ownership for the issues in your restaurant. We ended up ensuring we all paid our bills, and then they had the audacity after almost 3.5 hours total of issues; they then told us they lost all our bills and that several people hadn't paid yet and continued to ask us to wait until they figured it out. They didn't even tell us about the auto grat. We all worked in the industry at some point. We've all had shit nights at work. But this was absolutely unacceptable. The drinks were good but other than that the management was awful, service was awful, food was terrible (even the food we did get), and I would not recommend anyone go here for anything other than drinks. Just go get your cocktails, don't talk to your server, and get out. This was a fun lounge bar to hang at. It's nothing fancy. Food and drinks are reasonably priced given the extra display and effort they put into presentation. Not super Harry Potter themed but was enough for me. They play old school mixed dance/pop/hip hop songs which was kind of awesome. They also have TVs streaming sport games so that surprised us a bit but it's cool, we enjoyed ourselves. Shared the truffle fries and maple coffee wings and they came with a side of ranch. Love free sauces lol. Tried 4 Harry Potter themed drinks, but there are lots of selections. Service was great. The happy hour deals look good as well so will return for those. read more

Absolutely the worst service I've ever experienced in my life. And on top of it, they charged an 18% tip to our bill without choice. The potion room is over hyped and over priced with terrible service and even worse food and drinks. The cocktails were disgusting, not one out of the 6 of us could finish them. But for 20$ a drink we really wanted to force ourselves. We ordered a round of waters upon being seated and with 2 reminders we did not receive the waters until payment. Our food came out cold, our wings were atrocious, they looked like jerky, and tasted like dust. When we were making our payments we were NOT made aware of the 18% gratuity that was added to our bills and all tipped another 15% on top of that. the lounge was nicely decorated, and the presentation of my friends drinks were amazing (I got shots, and I'm happy I did.) for starters, the shisha has nothing to do with the "Hogwarts" theme, it'd pass in an allice in wonderland themed lounge though, also for 17$ I deeply expected more than a glass of whiskey with a strip of bacon in it and sprinkles on the side. For the name being "half blood prince" it felt like it had nothing to do with Snape. The mixture of gin and tequila with a salt rim was deplorable as well, presentation was awesome. But that's literally all you're paying for here! If you want a pretty witchy drink, you'll get that. If you want something that actually tastes good though, get the shots. read more

Came here while bar hopping with some friends and loved the atmosphere and creative design so much we stayed here until closing! Our experience was so amazing, everyone should come here at LEAST once. We tried about 5 drinks on the menu and each one was magical, delicious and had such a picture worthy presentation! The butter chicken was authentic and filling which I loved, and the servers (or witches lol) were so fun and friendly! I'll most definitely be coming back with more friends for another fun night, I wish I could give 10 stars! read more

The only reason this isn't 1 star is because the place is beautiful inside, and I got to watch some good movies while we waited nearly an HOUR to receive our drinks. Tables sat after us were being served before us, the server's personality was rather unpleasant. I'd like to come back and give it another go because it IS such a cool atmosphere, but I'm not sure I will. Being told "can't you see how many people are here" when inquiring about the time your drinks is taking is pretty poor customer service. Given the theme I expected more. Do better, Potion Room. The Potion Room is a nightclub that is decorated with Harry Potter themed items, where you can smoke Shisha and listen to techno-dance music. Our gentleman server was very friendly and personable. The calamari (more of a seafood-in-onion-ring-form) was very tasty. We weren't aware that the chef didn't start until 6pm, and that would have been nice to know in advance. Service was pretty slow, considering that there were only 2 tables each with with 2 guests as well as our group of four, but the server was apparently late, which left the one gentleman to take care of the whole place. read more

The atmosphere was kind of cool and unique. The manager was nice. The drinks were okay. The food was about the most unpalatable I've ever eaten at a restaurant, served by a surly chef who acted like it was an inconvenience to provide utensils. Even innocuous things like cheeseburgers were so disgustingly spicy I couldn't taste anything but my burning mouth. I was sick for days afterward. Considering their target demographic is fans of the series, which come from a variety of ages and backgrounds, they really need to develop a more varied and inclusive menu, perhaps one that includes a few dishes that people can actually taste. Not everyone wants to burn their mouth out as they eat. It wasn't even well-layered, developed spice. It's like they just poured ghost pepper extract into everything. The decor was cool, but thats about as good as this review gets. I, admittedly, am not a Harry Potter fan, but my GF is. She liked the decor as well, but the ambiance definitely didn't match. Music felt like we should've been in a club, but I can forgive that. Ordered our drinks and food when we sat down and probably took about 15-20 minutes until my girlfriend got her drink and another 5-10 until I got mine. And they were sub par at best ESPECIALLY for the price. $17 dollars for mine (50 shades of the dark lord) and it tasted watered down. Not sure if that was because the drink sat for too long or what. GF got the goblins piss and to put it bluntly, she described it to taste exactly how it sounds... got our starters- gyoza and calamari which were alright. Gyoza had maple syrup in the sauce which was a little odd, but not horrible- would've been better with a saltier based sauce, but to each their own. It was what we ordered. Calamari was decent. Ordered 1 more drink each and again waited for quite a while to get them. Food came about 45 mins after being ordered. I got the chicken burger and GF got the aloha bowl. Mine was OK. Nothing special, pretty much your run of the mill buffalo chicken burger, however the aloha bowl was not good at all. Rice was VERY mushy and consistency was pretty "gooey" baby food is the adjective I would use to describe it... To top it all off, they have the "hookah" water tower things which was off putting as we had to sit beside a pair (about 3 feet away) and I'm not not a COVID complainer, but to have to smell that flavoured smoke as it was blown all over the room was not my idea of enjoyable... I will say that we were comped for the aloha bowl (GF probably only ate about 3-4 forkfuls) which I am thankful for, BUT I definitely will not be going back anytime soon. Overall I would say the food is very lacklustre and the drinks are GREATLY overpriced for what you get. If you want a good cocktail head over to confluence distilling or something and there are multiple restaurants with far superior food to go to. Avoid this place. read more

Was ok. Loved the look of the place! Drinks were ok but not consistent in taste. Service was terrible. We had to ask for our second set of wings at least 4 times and for the bill just as many times and they couldn't even figure out how to split it in half without taking it to the register. This is by far the WORST place I have ever been to in my life. As a server I am very understanding of why service can be slow, however we were sat at a dirty table, it took 30 minutes for someone to talk to us let alone bring us water and then finally had someone take our drink order. We waited another 15 minutes and still received nothing. Other tables that came well after us were served drinks and food before it looked like our drinks were even mixed. The servers seemed to not talk to a lot of the tables in there, and there's maybe 15 tables max in there to boot. There was no toilet paper and no paper towel in the bathrooms. There was a lineup in front of the bar and we were sitting there wondering if maybe that's where we were supposed to order/pay??? Then we realized they were lining up to be interviewed. The guy that was interviewing these girls was obviously the only bartender, and would interview one person, then mix a couple drinks (he seemed to be doing all the drinks for the whole lounge) and then go do another interview and so on and so forth. As a huge Harry Potter fan my girlfriend and I were extremely excited to check out this new bar. We left before our drinks ever came. I have never been so disappointed and unimpressed with a business. Would not recommend to anybody to go there. read more
