Both restaurants owned by the CDA Resort and next door to each other. We chose having dinner at Tito's which turned out very well. My wife had a pasta dish which she enjoyed. The steak frites was flavorful, cooked medium rare as requested with a nice herb and garlic taste. The desert was exceptional, peach Crostata. The service was exceptional. Thank You Josh for hearing my concerns and making up for our last meal at Taphouse Unchained.

My wife, mother-in-law, and I came specifically for the elk burgers and all ordered them medium rare - because that's how elk should be cooked for proper flavor. When the burgers arrived, we cut them in half and discovered that every single one was well done. Not one was prepared correctly. Either they were pre-cooked and reheated, or the kitchen simply didn't care. When our server checked in, we explained the issue and said we'd prefer not to eat them. She called the manager over, and that's when things got worse. To his credit, he offered to have the kitchen remake them, but knowing how kitchens react when an entire table sends food back, we declined. Then he held up the burger and claimed, "When burgers are thin, it's hard to cook them correctly." The problem? These burgers were clearly not thin...which I pointed out to him. Finally, he stormed off saying, "Fine - this is on me then, and we won't charge you." Charge us? Really? As if that was even an option after serving three inedible meals. We left and went to another spot up the street that knows how to cook a proper medium-rare burger.

I got a growler of beer from a different brewery here so that proved to be successful and pleasant. I went poking around on Untappd and looked up anything Black Lodge Brewing may have made and they certainly had some intriguing beers so I held off on getting a Yelp review posted for it. But on my second visit I was told that they don't brew their own beer anymore and that they only have guest taps from other breweries but they still had a good variety of beer to choose from as far as beer options go. So this place is more of a taphouse with guest taps so something to keep in mind. It's still as cool as I remember it. My last visit here looked like a concert was going to start. Might have been a metal or a punk oriented type band as that was what the audience appeared to be. I wasn't going to see the show and just wanted a beer so they were nice enough to let me in to do just that. Black Lodge Brewing is one of those breweries that is inspired by the TV show Twin Peaks and you pick up subtle nods to it there with some pictures of Laura Palmer. I bought some swag for this brewery online and while they had several designs I went with the logos that had the opening credits styled from the show with the brewery name on it.

We had two kids and a baby with us and they were extremely accommodating, offering the kids crayons and paper to color on to keep them busy, which allowed us parents to relax for a much needed minute. We ordered the artichoke dip and the kids cheese pizza, which was huge (for a kid's meal) and super cheesy with great crust, YUM! We got a few different beers - all were delicious - and took a couple cans of the Thai tea seltzer to go. The bartender/server invited the kids back to watch how he made the cans so that was cool. Overall very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, exactly what I was looking for with three kids. My husband loved the music and kept telling the guys it was his favorite stop of our whole trip!

The toasted ravioli was good, the oxtail in the stew was great, but we weren't a fan of the cookie dough. We came back because of the elote mac and cheese we had during Mac & Cheese Festival. The noodles this time were unique and held the sauce really well! Super yummy! The spanish flan was definitely the star of the show. We were skeptical at first, but it ended up being the best flan we've had in a while. Delicious, and so creamy it was almost like icecream. We could eat multiple helpings. If their regular menu featured more items like these that do a great job of celebrating different cultures, we'd absolutely be regulars.

Patio was full, restaurant understaffed and outside the hostess, nobody else was friendly--zero personality, seemed less than thrilled to be working (not just our table; observed a few other waitresses and a female bartender with same energy.) Screwed up two things with three entrees (after waiting a super-long time for the food to be made); no real reaction to the mistakes. Food was pretty good (though serving fish & chips on top of the fries made them super soggy). The burger would've been a better choice. Would've been a 4-star review with better, faster and nicer service. Hope it was just an off day and that the area isn't losing its charm as downtown Coeur d'Alene is getting overgrown and found other people on other shops not as hospitable as the area has been in years passed.
