Delicious little sandwich shop near the highway and the "main" drag in town. Lovely place, larger inside than expected and great atmosphere. Of course, there is a large porch out back. It was a little too hot to sit outside, so we passed on the porch. Cozy little deli with new sandwiches and salads pre-made to go. Best part is the make-it-yourself style ordering process. I wasn't extremely hungry so I ordered a chicken salad half sandwich on sourdough with a side of pickled cucumbers and onions. DELICIOUS. My friend ordered the baked potato soup with her half turkey sandwich on sourdough. It too was delicious. The place was super reasonably priced and the staff was friendly. We were the only customers in the entire place so the two ladies working there chatted with us for a bit. They both prepared the food right in the back where we could see the kitchen and workspace. Overall, great place for lunch with friends and family. Enjoy!

Not a restaurant any more. No food. It is a bookstore. Go there for books not food though.

Sunday, two prefix meal options. Both very nice and it was nice to not have so many food choices. Deck is dog friendly.

My wife had the salmon, and I must say it was expertly prepared. As I was looking at the skin, I thought for sure it was gonna be a little soggy. The chef prepared that to the point it was a light, beautiful crispy, wafer almost, chefs kiss. The fish was moist and flavorful, and it came with a couple of variations in salsa that brought layers of complexity to the dish. The risotto was a little dense and dry as it was a informed as a cake. The wine selection is good as well. Unfortunately, my dish was nearly an edible. I blame it on myself since I asked the server about the preparation of the pork chop. She went back and asked the chef about the temperature because I am conscious of certain pork elements and since I requested a certain temperature, I think the chef took it out on my requestThe meat itself was a little tough and sadly, the crust was not flavorful at all. I only ate a couple of bites. Again, if I would've gotten trout or something else and just shut my mouth, I probably would've had an excellent dish. It had a variation of rhubarb, turnips, and something else that really didn't feel like it was integrated properly for me. Our experience with the server was wonderful, but let me tell you, the dessert fabulous. They had a house made ice cream, which was banana and a variety of nuts and chocolate chips that should be sold around the world because it was absolutely the best. After our meal, we went upstairs for some more drinks before closing, and had a great cool time up there. Lastly, the layout of the restaurant which was a former residence was really really nice, romantic and intimate.

My partner and I recently celebrated our anniversary and went to Taos, New Mexico to check it out…read moreas we had never been. This was a must stop recommended by many people so we were happy to secure a reservation and dine there. Ambiance was nice, we enjoyed the warm lighting and how it was inside an old historic catholic church. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable as well. I will say- the food was decent but it was nothing extravagant or to write home about like others have mentioned in the past. A lot of items on the menu have like one or two ingredients that I feel throw the dish off, so it was difficult deciding what to get there. We ordered the cornbread, mussels, the trout and the bison when we went for dinner. By far my biggest complaint with the whole experience was the fact that it is a cash only establishment, with no ATM even available on the property. You have to drive beforehand to the closest Allsups and withdraw whatever you feel will be the most for the check plus gratuity. This really limits what you can/can't get on the menu depending on how much cash you bring. I personally do not enjoy feeling limited by that or having to do math at the table in my head to make sure I got enough to cover it all. This also makes people look at the menu beforehand maybe online to get a good idea before driving to said gas station. They say on the website it's because "By forgoing transaction fees, we can better support our employees, serve organic food, and boost our local economy." but in reality I believe it's because they do not want to pay credit card fees and whatnot. Their sister restaurant Manzanita (which we also dined at) was not cash only though which was odd if they are related, so something isn't lining up at The Love Apple. We still had the best time with each others company which matters the most celebrating a special occasion, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to tell everyone that they gotta go there when they are in Taos.

From the food items, my favorite was the mussels. Everything else was just alright. The bison steak didn't pack alot of flavor to me. It was still a nice night out but not my favorite foods.
