These guys have guided us with pool maintenance. Unlike some other places, they don't try to sell chemicals. Very knowledgeable.

I'd be cautious about using this company for poolwork. Steve is not a pool contractor - he is a GC…read morewho subs out all work to other companies, so he's not the one doing the actual work. We had him out for a bid to retile and plaster our pool and a week later asked for a follow up visit - Steve didn't show up for the appointment and when I asked him to reschedule, he was clearly frustrated at me. When he did show up, I asked rather simple questions about my project and the answers provided were either vague or had to be asked directly of the people who he would hire to do the work. Even asking for a time estimate on my project was something he couldn't answer. Two weeks have gone by since my initial visit and I still have no bid - when I asked him for an updated bid, I was told repeatedly I would have it by the end of the day or would have it if I texted my email to him bit to date I still never received it. A text to Steve this weekend was met with a "you'll be happier with another contractor". See attached text conversation. Would think twice before choosing this company - if you're hoping for someone with hands on pool experience who can answer specific questions about a complex job, this may not be the best company to go with. If follow up and organization is what you're looking for, you won't find it here. If you want the pertain you hire to be the one doing the work, look elsewhere.

Derek only took a couple measurements and said they would be back. I told them I had already received one quote immediately ($40+K) and was waiting on another to come in. The other quote came in 2-days later and was over $40+K so this was no small job. After waiting 2-weeks, Steve and Derek both came back out and we talked over the plan again. We actually talked about a more expensive plan, but they sold me on their ideas. I was excited about the changes they recommended. I told them I had already received the other 2-quotes and that I would like to get theirs as soon as possible, so we could get the work scheduled. After waiting another 2 weeks, I could not get them to return my calls. I was driving home from out of town yesterday and I thought that I would try to reach them. I was able to get Derek, and he said they decided that they would not be taking on my project and that I should go to someone else. Waiting a total of 5+ weeks for them to turn down my job when I could have already had it scheduled and possibly even starting work is unacceptable. I am not sure why they would turn down what could have been $50K in work, but this is not cool. I would not recommend them to anyone at this point.

I have made contact with Caldera Corporate Office. So far my experience with this company is very strained. But contacted a customer service rep there that is listening. They are dropping the ball and hesitate to give answers to the simplest questions and so far they have let this spa owner hanging... Coleman left me with the impression to go fix it myself and have ignored my other calls and messages and email. I can go into more detail after seeing if the corporate office comes to a resolve on this problem and I will finished the whole review. Some times the truth does more damage to this business reputation. Let's see if they can save it. Caldera Spa of California contacted me today; they offered a remedy and if it turns out to be true. I will completely give credit where it's due. I have hear zilch from Coleman at this time.

My parents live in Decatur and went to Grapevine to get better service and now they wish they would have gone somewhere else. We bought a 27" round above ground pool. The salesman told us it would arrive in 7-10 business day. Well, that came and went. When we called to set up installation. The pool still wasn't in and we were told it usually takes 4 weeks to arrive, by that time it was 4 weeks. So it finally gets in. We went with the installers that they recommend. BIG MISTAKE! The first thing they tell us there is going to be a $200 trip charge for coming out here ( which they could have gone further in the metroplex and probably wouldn't have charged). On the day of installation, it started raining pretty hard. They continued with the installation process. They had to finally pack up due to the rain because they lowered the pool two inches into the ground and everything was so muddy due to the rain they had to wait for it to dry before putting the dirt back in the space between the pool. Well as they were leaving, me and my mom noticed a huge bubble in the middle of the pool. But we assumed these guys knew what they were doing and that it wouldn't harm anything. Well a couple of days later they came back to complete the job and the liner is now stretched out because they left it like that. They tried to smooth out the creases on the bottom, but ultimately couldn't because the liner was stretched. Our options were to have creases on the bottom or wait for a new liner. Which would probably take another 4 weeks and that would be the end of summer. We called Coleman and spoke with the Sales Manager about this and first, he seemed to busy to even be bothered by this. It was a Friday or Saturday and he said he would call us on Monday and discuss further. We decided to just let them finish the job and discuss further with the Coleman people on Monday about our options. The installers left a huge mess! They didn't pack the dirt back around the pool, they didn't show us how to use the pump. They didn't tell us how to install the ladder. Nothing. These guys were done with us. Coleman never called us, we called them and got "Well it's no ones fault". ACTUALLY, IT IS. It's the installers fault that they recommended!! They should have stopped when it started raining... we spent all this money and our liner now has creases on the bottom. Coleman could care less about making it right. It's been two weeks and hasn't called us back. These people do not care about customer service...look elsewhere for your pool needs.

Our pool began to turn green, so we were told the filters needed to be cleaned. The company came and cleaned the filters, and charged us. One week later and the algae returned. Now we were told that we needed new filters. That should have been mentioned the week before during the cleaning, but that's fine. We bought new filters and installed them ourselves. The pool was still green for weeks until one day it wasn't. We didn't have issues for a while. Then, one day my wife noticed that the debris was in the same place in the pool the day that the company was supposed to come out. The next day, the pool turned green. We checked our backyard cameras and they never were there cleaning our pool, yet we were still charged for services. When we addressed this with the pool company, we were met with a hostile and argumentative response. Even though we showed them that our cameras never captured their employees on the date and time that they claimed to be there, the company refused to put the customer first. They said that the green in our pool was a result of our filtration system and not from our pool not being treated despite video evidence. Needless to say we would not recommend this company to anyone. We had issues from the start, but kept up good faith until we were shown that they would charge and argue for services not rendered.

We were so grateful that the pump motor didn't burn out! My wife went by our former residence the following Monday and found the pool out of prime. I headed over and found the pool filter basket lid installed backward/upside down with "FRONT" facing the wrong way, and therefore it could not be tightened. I fixed the issue and got the pump back to prime and immediately called around, while my wife let the owner of the other company know about "yet another" of his employees' goofs. Pretty Pools had the most reasonable fees and have done an infinitely better job than the last company. We had zero issues with Pretty Pools maintaining our pool and the house just sold and the buyers have been referred them as well. Pretty Pools also does the chemicals service at our new place and I'm as pleased as can be. They also sent a tech (for a fee) to evaluate our pool heater. The information I received was invaluable and we will be using them to replace the heater. There are other companies in the area that also do great work, but charge quite a lot more and I'm not entirely sure they're worth it. Pretty Pools does a great job, communicates well and always returns calls/emails.
