My experience with Pool Source has honestly been the worst service experience of my life. We decided at the end of summer 2020 to install a pool. My husband and I don't make a ton of money, but we clip coupons and shop secondhand and do our best to put away any extra for us to buy special things for our family. Usually we spend our savings on travel, to visit my family or take a weekend vacation. Because of COVID, our travel money was going unspent, so we decided to take the plunge and buy a pool. Pool Source had been very highly-rated. We researched reviews, and looked into the type of pools they sell, the Radiant brand. We stopped by Pool Source one weekend, and spoke to a sales rep who gave us a catalog and took us outside to show us the pools and talk about the liner. We said we would take the information home, make a decision, and follow up later. We felt very comfortable that we were making the right decision, and our money would be well-spent. I went by myself to actually order the pool, and this is when my comfort level started to drop. At this point they made it clear they don't help with installations of above ground pools, but it would be fine. They used an outside contractor all the time who would take care of everything. I paid a $1000 deposit. The salesperson told me the pool would arrive in 8-10 weeks, some delay because of COVID...understandable, and that I could get the pool in for a spring install. Perfect! We called the contractor and he was very nice, came to look at our space, and said we needed a map of the septic system. I went to the town right away to get it and sent it to him along with the specs for the pool and a copy of the building permit application. Then nothing. The contractor stopped responding and his voicemail said the number was out of service. I went back to Pool Source and asked if they could suggest another contractor. They said theirs was the ONLY one who could do it. Finally, Pool Source got in touch with him. He had shut down for the winter with no notice. Also fine, we would follow-up in spring. I reached back out to the contractor in spring to see if we could set a date. Pool Source asked for the permit, and I sent him the application. They said they needed the actual permit, which needs to be filled out by the contractor...who wasn't answering calls or emails. I tried to fill it out myself, but I didn't understand all of the information, and it required a contractor license. I spoke to the Town and they said the contractor usually fills it out. I asked Pool Source for help, and they wouldn't help me either. Then I find out they had never actually ordered the pool. They needed the permit to do that, which hadn't been expressed when I ordered it, and no one would help me with the permit. But Pool Source said, "if you can't get the permit, then we won't make you pay the balance of the pool." But what about my $1000 deposit? That may not be a lot of money to someone, but I save for weeks to get that much. At this point, I felt like I had been robbed of $1000. I passed the management of the pool install onto my husband, because it was making me sick with worry and anxiety, and I wondered if maybe they were giving me the run around because I am a woman. I was at the point if someone said the word, "pool," to me, I got a knot in my throat. What was supposed to be a fun gift for my family, turned into a source of depression and regret. After months of back and forth emails, (my husband kept them all), we finally got Pool Source to help us with the permit. Why they couldn't before, I don't know. Continued delays on their part now put our pool delivery into July...then August. A year after I had initially purchased it. We gave up on their contractor and found our own. We had everything in place to install except for the pool. Then they scheduled delivery for mid-August. We were hopeful we would get a few weeks of swimming in before season ended, and then on delivery day, they ripped the liner. They would have to re-order and it would be another 8-10 weeks. It will be two years before we get to enjoy our pool, and I won't even enjoy it. I am so disheartened by my purchase and I feel like a fool for being duped. It pains me that I had to give-up my hard-earned savings to these people. Looking back at positive reviews, I see all of the 5-star reviews are from people who got in-ground pools, so I believe the only way to get good service from them is to spend a certain dollar threshold that we just don't have. So if you're like us, and just want a simple above ground pool, please go somewhere else. ANYWHERE else. Because Pool Source doesn't want your business and they don't deserve it. I was told by the company that I wanted to use for my liner replacement for my in ground pool that they don't handle my area and to use pool source in Cranston. so we went to talk with them and the sales was very helpful and promised me the world but that's where it ended. The guys who came to measure for the new liner showed up on a Sunday with no prior notice. The pool still had the cover on it and we didn't notice until the cover was removed for them to drain it that they had punctured holes in the old liner and the pool was empty. We quickly checked our neighbors yard to make sure that it didn't drain in their yard. I also want to mention that the person who came to drain the pool also showed up unannounced at dinner time and just walked right in and also asked what I was cooking because it smelled so good. when it was finally time to install the new liner and I was given the day, I took the day off from work and they never showed up. I called and was given a different day and again took a day off from work and again never showed up. This happed 4 times with me using 4 vacation days. Then when he did finally come, he never used new padding for under the liner but used what was already there. Even on the stairs, which he never cleaned from the gravel of the new pavers and just used the old padding on the stairs which I can feel pebbles under the liner. I had called several times through this whole person and never once did the owner call me back, they just sent out someone who came and expect and did help fix a few of the issues we were having with the installer. We were told about the issues with the pebbles under the stairs that they won't tear the liner because I bought a thicker grade. which is beside the point. I paid a lot of money for a new install and all I got was aggressive and mediocre work. Not to mention that the landscape company they recommended because I was told that I now need new coping because the old one was too high and would cause a tripping hazard. They too were awful to deal with with the father telling me one thing and the son saying something else. Needless to say that when all was said and done it cost me thousand more than I planned on spending and got nothing but aggravation. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

I can't recommend pool source enough. We went in on a whim and with the help Of the pool source over the course of the next month we will have a patio, hot tub and all of the electrical work to make everything run smooth. Both of the folks we worked with Brandon and David were professional and kind not to mention knowledge and understanding. I have two kids who were anything but quiet and they were both very understanding and didn't mind the chaos that kids bring. Typically i have had good experiences with the pool source, but honestly how hard it is to test water and use the register for sales. Well unless your purchasing a pool. I paid almost in full (6k) for the pool 2 weeks prior to install date, I called a week later to get the delivery date, there was stutter and confusion in their voice on the phone, Brian said someone will call be right back, after 2 days pass I called them back, they said my pool was on back order ( which this is the first I'm hearing of this) but they did promise it would be delivered in time for installation. The day before the install date I call the pool source again wondering where the pool might be. The said it's on the way today and will be at my house by 5pm.. at 5 pm a small pick-up arrives with chemicals and the filter. I said that looks like stuff you have in the store.. Ummmm the male says the pool will be at my house by 8am.. omfg the contractor comes at 730am, I have to tell him no pool yet he was going to leave but I begged him to stay and dig and the pool would be here at 8.. so at 805 I call the pool source, where is my pool??? They say 830... these lies went on and on till about 11am my contractor did all that he could digging....then he had to leave .. so now I have a hole and a messy yard and still no pool.. the next call to PS was to tell them they suck and I want a refund.. and I'll get my stuff else where since now my contractor can't come back til lateJune. They don't deserve my money. A week has passed and still no credit returned.. No pool No install date .. Currently I'm waiting for a return call from pool source.. let's see what the next journey of lies will be.... I started my process March 23... permits and purchase has been a belly flop...*ouch!!! This is my go to place for pool needs. I have a large inground pool and have had bad experiences in the past using pool resources like Namco. I started going to The Pool Source when I was having an issue one year with my pool, after spending a small fortune at Namco for chemicals that I did not need and could not return, I ended up getting sound advice from The Pool Source. When my issue was cleared up , I now bring in my water at the start of the season, they hook me up with what I need and no more issues for the season. It has been smooth sailing since.
