Doggy Day Care went very well for 2 of our Dogs.. Grooming our 3 dogs is good, although our Cairn Terrier needs a little more trimming on her back. We haven't been going there that long so I'm sure next grooming, if we tell them, they will see what we're asking for. They groom our Scotty and he could pose for a magazine - he looks so good. They also handle our "special needs" Westie with TLC. She always looks very good, happy plus she's 14 yrs old with health problems, and she's blind. They do a great job with her and when we pick her up she seems very happy - not stressed at all. Prices are a bit higher than we were use to. read more

I called the business at 8:03am and left a message asking to set up an appt for my dog. I did not receive a call back 3 hours later and called again. I went to the business and told the girl at the desk what I wanted to have done. She said I could come back between 3-4p for an appt. I returned around 330p and the same girl at the desk asked if I wanted a clip or grind done. I told her clip and reminded her of the other services I asked to have done. A minute later she returned with my dog and said they only had time to do the nails and anal glands. I said I needed his ears cleaned and was told they didn't have time. A girl in the back asked what needed to be done and the girl at the front desk whispered they needed to keep things moving. The girl in the back came out and cleaned his ears quick, but I didn't get my dogs teeth cleaned. This is what happens when the next generation is put in charge! I've been a customer for 13 years but since they needed to keep things moving, I'll be moving to a different groomer. Very poor service!!! read more

My 3 year old pup looked adorable when I picked him up. I liked that the dogs could all play together. The groomer did a great job of listening to what I wanted & gave him a "round" looking cut for his face. The only think I did not like is that it took 4 hours to get the call to come pick him up. I would use again but only if I did not have anything else to do that day. read more

I use this place for cat and dog grooming plus the doggy daycare. I've been pleased with each visit. No complaints so far.

Took my dog there for a nail and grind trim. The dog was held down beyond its limits like he was a cattle at a farm being slaughtered to the point the dog over stressed itself and popped both of his eye's blood vessels and has a bloody nose now from over exerting himself during the trimming. Its pretty clear the people working should have just stopped and not forced the issue on the dog. The girls working seemed to be all in high school had no idea how to handle a dog properly. They looked dazed and stoned when I got my dogs back. Do not take your dog too pooch palace if there is not an older person working on duty for your dogs own safety. I still tipped the workers even tho they didn't deserve it. read more

First visit was great. Second visit we were treated so poorly by a staff member. We brought two dogs in. One was groomed perfectly and the other it seems had nothing more than a bath and comb out. Nails look choppy on the dogs that did receive a haircut. When picking back up, groomer again so rude. Won't be back read more

Called on Saturday, 3/26 to check if they were open on 3/27 because of the Easter holiday. The woman I spoke with said they were indeed open. I asked if I needed an appointment and was told I would not need an appointment for the services I wanted. I told her I'd see her tomorrow then. I drove all the way from downtown Milwaukee, and they are indeed NOT open because of the holiday. Total waste of a two hour round trip drive. read more

I've gone two time for a nail trim for my 12 pound dog. The first time I went, nobody seemed to know what was going on. I only went in for a nail cut. When we got back out to the car, I noticed they nails were not straight and very rigid. The lady said they charge $10 for a cut and $5.00 to grind. Keep in mind my dog is not that big and his nails aren't as thick as a 50 pound dog. They are a lot more delicate. I left thinking someone just had a bad day, not that they should be brining their personal issues into work. I decided to try one more time. This time was even worse and I was told different pricing again! When I looked at my dogs nails, I was horrified! Not only did thy cut and grind too much to the point some were bleeding. Some were cracked and others were too long. While I was there, there were only working on a few dogs. When I went back in to show them what had been done, they front counter lady told me that some were still a little long, but could get it next time. She then said, just till them to grind them, not cut them, and come in once a week at $10.00 a pop!!! Why didn't she just suggest that from the beginning, instead of charging me $15.00 plus 3% (or what ever she chose) to use my credit card. It is illegal to charge someone to use their credit card. They only way that is not illegal is if they charge anyone who uses cash, check, debit or credit cards. I was shocked that they did not fix the long ones as well as charged me an extra $5.00. As I was talking with the counter person, I heard the groomer yelling at a different dog that was definitely in crises by his cries. Instead of trying to calm the dog down (when there weren't a lot of dogs there at this time), the groomer choose to continue making loud bad remarks to the dog and the other co-workers. If I could have given them a negative 10, I would have. And, I think that is still too generous. I understand having a bad day, but they know, as groomers, what they are getting into when they choose to be in this profession. I will NEVER go back and will definitely let other know that this is NOT the place to bring you dog to be groomed! On top of all that, the two times I went in, they treated me like I worked for them, not that they worked for us. The reason I went to this "groomer" (if you can call them that) was that a daughter's friend went to school with the owner. BEWARE - IF you want a safe environment for your dog to be groomed in, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE! read more

Let me begin by explaining that our dog HATES being groomed in any way, shape or form. She cannot stand being brushed or combed and her vet's office said they could not groom her unless they put her under for the process. She is a very sweet dog, but she will squirm away from a grooming as if her life depends on it. We decided to take her to Pooch Palace when a few friends said that they were the best in town. They were right! The groomers handled our trouble maker without a problem. They gave her time to get used to her surroundings, play with the other dogs and just ease her anxiety in general. They have successfully cut her hair (even if it has been too long between groomings and her hair has snarls) without incident many times over the past couple of years. We know that she is in good hands when we take her there. We will continue to use Pooch Palace for all of our grooming needs! read more

Dawn does an amazing job grooming my long haired cat. Her lion cut is even and precise so my kitty always leaves looking fabulous. The price is surprisingly reasonable, staff are warm & friendly, and the facility is very clean. My cat is pretty cooperative during the grooming process and loves the attention. This probably adds to the success of her haircut. (So if your cat is a nightmare at the vet, don't expect miracles at the groomer.) My cat is always so happy to come home with her new do. I usually groom my dog, but he has so much fur it is hard to keep up with. Pooch Palace was recommended to me. I find the prices so reasonable (and no clogged drains for me) Buddy looked ten years younger and lighter. He was treated very well now he views it as a spa day and it is less backbreaking for me. They have a card on him with his likes and dislikes. They are very careful with his back hips due to arthritis . He pulls me into the building because he enjoys it so much. Took two goldens in for Bath no grooming, $90 later when I questioned why a bath was so expensive the only thing said was they did a good brushout. Done with them. I have been going there for yrs but when I just want a bath, that price is rediculous. read more

I have taken our two dogs to be groomed twice within the last year. Customer Service is outstanding. I found the employees to be helpful and friendly. It is clear they enjoy taking care of the dogs.They keep records of previous service and ask about preferences. I like that the dogs are allowed to roam in the room where the employees are working both before and after the grooming and not put into cages. Our dogs look and smell wonderful. They each had a bath, hair cut, nails cut and ears cleaned. Well worth the money spent! I will definitely use them again when visiting my parents in West Bend! read more

I use to recommend this place to everyone I know. Let it be known I WILL never go to this place ever again. I had brought my 17 year old cat here as I have for years. He hates to be brushed so in order to get rid of his mats we have taken him to Pooch Palace and have never had a problem, until this past weekend. I have always been able to go and help hold my cats when they're getting groomed but this time I wasn't able to. I told the owner to be gentle with him because he's old and can't tolerate too much stress. Let's just say he was treated like an animal going to slaughter. He became very nervous and the more he became nervous the meaner Dawn got with him. She put a mask over his face, had 2 people come and hold him hog style and just took out her days frustrations on this poor 10 lb. baby. She angrily clipped his front nails, which I didn't ask for and was a totally different person that I have ever seen. It was a pet owners worst nightmare. If you've ever been there you will know that when the dogs are done they have the freedom to walk around until they're picked up. There was a chocolate coon dog that wanted to see what was going on and one of the girls holding down my cat kicked this dog in the forehead. I wish I knew who the owner of this dog was because I would tell them what happened to their animal. This is not what people pay for. Our animals are like our children and to have them treated any different is unacceptable. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE unless you don't value their precious lives. read more

We have been going to the Pooch Palace for twenty years. Had an appointment today for our dog to be groomed and there was a very aggressive dog inside that was growling before our dog was even let into the pen. Once our dog entered the pen, the aggressive dog immediately attacked. It took two groomers to get the attacking dog off of our dog. Needless to say, we were horrified. Left immediately and will NEVER return. My husband thinks that the dog that attacked was actually one of the groomer's dogs, which is even more disturbing. Why bring an aggressive dog like that to work? This situation could have turned out a lot worse, but we are going to notify all of our friends who use Pooch Palace to NEVER go there again. read more
