So why 5 stars? The owner. He had us laughing so hard and the food was terrific. Eggplant parm with penne, boneless wings, and burgers were all great. Honestly there is nothing like a good laugh. He really turned our crap night into a good time. Thanks Mike.

All the entries are served with soup, salad and bread. The entries are all good. Last time I had their broiled breaded pork chop with baked potato (they don't do vegetables) it was large and perfectly cooked. (I took half home.) You can order two of them if you're ravenous. Tonight I ordered the Swiss sea scallops. They were cooked perfectly, but personally I was not a fan of the Swiss cheese lightly covering the scallops. In the past I've had the Lamb Chops (kidney chops), NY Strip and the broiled Haddock. All were excellent. If you want a neighbor hood place to go, Harold's is it.

So if you want friendly service, great food and reasonable prices, you should consider this diner. I had the meatloaf with French fries and gravy. And a cup of stuffed pepper soup. I've visited this diner more than a few times. Mostly breakfast and lunch. I haven't been disappointed yet. Thanks Ashly and the rest of the crew. This place is worth a try. Nothing fancy but a good meal to be had by all.

Miss Johnstown diner is what I dream a diner would be no-frills just good food and cooks that control the whole restaurant by themselves if not just for the good food, but for the experience of what a true diner should be with a flat top and how a cook does their trade is worth the experience. I highly recommend it. Don't expect a lot of frills just good service and good food. It is still as cute inside as it used to be. The staff was just as welcoming. We ordered eggplant fries and Sandwiches. The sandwiches were both very good but the true winner was the Eggplant Fries. They were thick, with a soft interior and super crunchy exterior. The dipping sauce was excellent. I would recommend these to anyone and can not wait to go back for more.

Attn: This review is based on food items and NOT on their Ice Cream…read more Stopped by at 3:00 for a late lunch with a book club friend. I ordered a Fish Fry and Cole Slaw. Fish Fry-- It was thin and long; it overflowed the bun. It was fried to a crispy, golden level. Ok so far. However, it tasted like a big, cheap fish stick. Also, it tasted pre frozen. The coating pulled away from the thin piece of fish since it was not freshly breaded. Did not finish it. The fish fry was not tasty or enjoyable when compared to Ted's or many other places. Surprise: The cocktail sauce was very good. Tangy. The large portion of Cole Slaw also disappointed. It was fresh but had zero flavor! Was it moistened with a diluted mayo and nothing else? My guess is Yes. I did not finish it. My friend ordered the fries which were good and what you typically get. Her burger was mediocre. Service was a five. I was even offered a cup of ice water without asking. Dairy Circus sells ice cream which probably is good and a big seller. Since it is located directly across from Scotia Glenville HS, it must get business from teens.

Arrived at Lakeside and got a table on the deck facing the water and incoming boats. Wait staff gave us menus and took our drink order. I ordered the blackened shrimp tacos which came with shoe string fries. Friend got the strawberry salad. She said it was delicious. I've had shrimp tacos before but I'm happy to say these were exceptional. Tacos had crispy lettuce, diced tomatoes, an avocado aioli on a flour tortilla. Yum. Fries were also perfectly crispy. A marvelous lunch. Parking is more than adequate. Staff were quick to assist. Other patrons chatted with everyone. The placed was totally hopping. Nice place oozing with ambiance.

We arrived at opening on a Thursday evening and had the place to ourselves. The table we were sat at overlooking the gardens was gorgeous. The service was a little awkward as the server was training someone who was new, but they were very friendly and accommodating. We started with some bourbon cocktails that were just alright. I would say, they don't have the best cocktails. I ordered a gin dirty martini with stuffed olives and I think they just gave me straight gin in a glass with olives. Maybe stick to wine or beer! We were greeted with some nice fresh bread and we then ordered the very popular candied bacon. It was very thick, sweet and savory. Worth trying for sure, I enjoyed it. For dinner we opted for the 3 pound cowboy to share. I had asked what came with the steaks and they said smashed potatoes and green beans, and hyped up the smashed. When served, we got French fries, so this was just a miscommunication because I guess the special came with fries. I asked for a side of potatoes as well cause at this point I wanted to try them. The steak was gorgeous and perfectly cooked, and massive. We shared and had plenty of leftovers. Overall, I would suggest checking this place out. I think some miscommunication may have effected my experience, but the food and ambiance makes this a great destination for a romantic dinner.
