Love this place. Right on the pier in Dunkirk. Cool vibe in the area, very beach-town. The food…read moreand drinks reflect that, lots of seafood and umbrella drinks. But there's a good mix of other cocktails and beers too. The owner seems really nice, she was working the kitchen along with a couple other family members, good to see, especially since it was all women- love a female owned business that's doing well and doing it right. Chicken tenders were good, not great but I think they're on the menu to placate the kids coming so fair enough. The rest of the food was GREAT. We started with calamari and it was great, came with a lemon dressing already on it which was good and didn't detract from the crispiness at all. Also had lots of battered pepper rings as well, nice balance. Combo seafood basket was solid. The shrimp were great as was the haddock - all battered on site. Fries were thin and crispy. The winner though was the California Grouper sandwich which was a daily special. It was fantastic. I could have eaten two. Came on a soft roll, with slaw and bacon and avocado and I forget what else because I devoured it so quickly. I'd go back just for that sandwich. This place is definitely worth a stop if you're ever out by the lake.

I lived in Dunkirk for several years, but the changes that they have made to the pier and boardwalk are really unbelievable !!!! Shops & restaurants and this gem!! Let me be very clear in saying that there are maybe three tables inside; this is definitely a grab and go restaurant . However there is a huge patio with many many tables even if they are full, which is doubtful, you could certainly grab a spot on the boardwalk nearby . We happened to have a beautiful night and we have an event to go to at SUNY Fredonia so a friend recommended this place . We waited about 15 minutes to place our order. After ordering we enjoyed our drinks out on the patio while we waited for our food. I opted for an alcoholic beverage while my son had a virgin piña colada. Our number was called maybe 15 minutes later and we were served absolute deliciousness. My son ordered the California, which was a delicious crispy fish sandwich while I opted for an Asian chicken wrap. Our food was absolutely delicious. Served just right. The food temperature was perfect and the portions were ample . The service was wonderful. If I ever come upon a beautiful night again in Dunkirk, I will definitely be visiting this place !!!!

Stormin' Crab offers their blue crabs one of two ways: Either added as a side to any boil (topped with your favorite seasonings), or served as a fried crab basket. The oyster appetizer (sold as six or twelve) can be raw or grilled. I adore them raw, and these are Bluepoints! They were plump, glistening, and had a great sweet and briney flavor. My husband's gumbo was thick with rice and andouille sausage, with baby shrimp. It also had a powerful black pepper kick. Very tasty! The boil arrived on a stainless steel platter in a large plastic bag, ballooned out with steam. We had chosen the butter, medium spicy. I thought the saltiness overpowered the flavor of the seafood, but your mileage may vary. Combo C had so much food we took a third of it home! We really enjoyed our meal here!

We ordered the cajun mix for crawfish and snow crab and garlic butter snow crab. All the boils are doused full of butter flavored oil (not real butter) which didn't allow for any flavor to reach your tongue or the meat. I may be spoiled with real Louisiana and Texas crawfish and seafood boils but the oil was so unpleasant. The crawfish was oily, flavorless, and tasted dirty. The crab was probably presalted and just reheated in the boil. I asked for some cajun seasoning and salt to sprinkle on top but there was just too much oil. I am disappointed with this type of boil and hope I can find a more traditional type with no oil somewhere in Buffalo.

Of course it is more expensive to eat here now, but still worth it! Delicious food, especially the appetizers. We were sorry to miss our favorite, Kaileigh, but Julie was great and very patient with our table (lots of loud talking and we took forever to choose what to have, lol). TO Bestie joined Boyfriend and I for dinner and really enjoyed her first visit! We shared the goat cheese and beef tartare apps... omg... go just for the apps! Absolutely perfect. She had the chicken and I had their new mushroom pasta as mains. Very good. Boyfriend had a Caesar salad and some steak - I think it was a striploin - he didn't care that much for the steak which was a bit tough. He would definitely stick with the filet mignon next time. Great restaurant and absolutely one of the better dining options in Niagara Falls. Also 18+ so no children running around, and great atmosphere. Beautiful fireplace. All I would add is ambiance music or something (if there was any, we couldn't hear it).

Our reservations were at 6:00pm and we arrived 5 min early and were seated right away. Much to our surprise we were escorted, all the way to what we would call the patio with rattan high top chairs and marble tables, with no more than 5 tables and window bar seating. The restaurant has linen table cloth tables with nice padded chairs which we did not have the pleasure to dine on. We have to say the waiter/bartender was very attentive during our meal. At the end of our meal I stopped at the hostess station and spoke to a manager about our concerns. She advised me I should have said I wanted the dining room, but I explained I had no idea there was an area other than the dining room for dinner to ask for, as I did this over the phone and not online. Normally a restaurant will ask if you are ok with the patio area but that was never asked. When you secure reservations over 2 months prior to an event you would think you would get the main dining room with the linen table cloths and padded chairs. I am not sure what my early reservation got me when again I got rattan chairs at a high top marble table. The manager advised next time I should specify where I want to sit, but I can safely say there will be no next time. This was supposed to be a nice romantic dinner for us, but clearly sitting in the bar/patio area we could have done anywhere. We went…read moreearly --and I recommend going early dinner both for parking and seating-- but there were enough people sitting that I'd be in the way getting snaps. Also many people waiting to pick up orders, so the front was also too busy for getting pix. Another thing I would recommend is sitting at table instead of booth. We sat in a booth. The problem with the booths, or at least the first booth from door, is either the seats are too low or the table is too high. Terrific fish fry: haddock with two sides. Loved the light breading on this. Also available is the Buffalo classic fish fry-- beer battered and fried, standard sides... fries, Cole slaw, mac salad. Very interesting menu. Inviting. So I will be accepting the invitation to come back for the Portside (lobster sandwich), and for the seafood fries. More reviews to follow. Very personable employees, enjoyable decor. Music a tad loud, and incongruous. I read a review from last year that described the music, though also too loud, as R&B. That sounds just right. Maybe dance music gets people to eat faster, desirable for quicker table turnover. There were people waiting for tables as we left. Only negative for me was thin ranch dressing and thin tartar sauce.

Soon we learned that he was not only very friendly, but also fast, energetic, and attentive. Check out the menu. There's something for everyone who's craving seafood. We visited in the late afternoon on Friday. My partner wanted the traditional Buffalo Fish Fry. I was looking for something that wasn't a deep-fried carb overload :). At a certain point, new guests began streaming into the restaurant - including those who were there just for takeout orders. Our food arrived straight from the kitchen and was still piping hot.The Fish Fry received nothing but good reviews. The beer batter was crispy and flavorful. The haddock was flaky and perfectly cooked as well. The order was missing the corn muffin, but the rest of the sides were there, house-made and delicious. The Lexington dish on The Mains menu sounded more sophisticated than it actually tasted. It was very good indeed, but it lacked a bit of 'zing', something to elevate its flavor from being flat. The broccoli was boiled and served as a side dish. Had it been char-grilled (as indicated on the menu) perhaps it would have added more flavor and texture to the dish? Anyway, as I mentioned, my course was very good/satisfying. I should have asked for at least some lemon wedges. Next time I'll definitely order the Shrimp Po Boy :). The two shrimps I had were perfect. Truly succulent; tender, juicy and sweet. Yummy!
