We stopped by The Place while on vacation. The restaurant has a nice chill vibe. TVs to watch sports/news. Menu was good. My wife and I tried the Skirt Steak plate with rice and beans and tostones. Everything tasted great, but it took about an hour for our food to get to our table even though they were not busy. The server was nice and touched our table a few times, apologizing about the delay on the food. We had high hopes for this place because of the menu, but our server was so excruciatingly inept he could not manage to get our drinks (2 drinks) even 30 minutes after we ordered them. He just threw the bar staff under the bus over and over. Meanwhile, other tables were getting their drinks. He brought my food (an app which I said I wanted when the others got their entrees) out 15 min before the rest of our food came out, saying he didn't want it to get cold. When the other food arrived, the burger was a burnt puck and the cheese on top was not melted. How do you even do that? We decided to leave and asked for the check. Servers were able to assist me navigate the menu to avoid allergies. It's an open restaurant. No air conditioning if that's going to be a problem. The restaurant has birds & cats roaming around. We came here because we had some time to kill before we could check into our rental. And came back the next day to watch the end of a college football game. The space was great. The service was spotty. Our first visit, our server was awesome and attentive. The second visit was less so. We had to go up to the hostess stand after sitting for 10mins to have somebody come by and bring us menus (the Q.R. code outside was not properly setup). First off, I'd like to give a shout out to Zoe, our waitress, last Friday. If anybody from management is reading this, she was great. Friendly and attentive. Made the experience better. The menu consisted of either a build your own burger, build your own pizza, or build your own fish tacos. I have had their burgers before so I went with pizza. I went a bit conservative with a regular pepperoni pizza. I also added some mushrooms and jalapeños for an extra kick. Overall, the pizza was good, but I felt the crust was a bit bland. I would still order it again, just though it could be more flavorful. They didn't have a kid's menu, so we went with the smallest burger (sans bun) and a side of fries, which were excellent. The assembly chef was USELESS. He kept on walking around, back and forth, chit chatting, standing around doing nothing, when there were several burgers off the grill waiting on the shelf to be put together. FINALLY our food came and I was so hungry that I failed to stop and take a photo. The burger was OK - overpriced and the side of fries was puny. I've been here 3 times and find the food to be average. The burgers are fine and the pizza is okay. There are better places to get those things in the area. The reason we have kept coming back is because we always have a good time. The atmosphere is what makes this place worth it, especially if you come with a group. They have several TV screens to watch sports and a stage for live music. My favorite part is the beer garden in the back. It is spacious and, with the long tables, is perfect for groups. This is a good place to come with friends or family and enjoy some drinks (very nice beer menu) and appetizers. The buffalo wings are really good. 8:30 pm waiting for a hostess to seat us, I walked up to the walk up bar and tried to order one of many of the beers they have on the beer list. The first 3 I chose they did not have, ( should have known them it was going to be a bust) walking back to the line I observed many open tables and a Best Pizza sign. After a 15 min wait we were seated, 10-15 later we had someone take our order. Being that one of the 4 menus was build your own pizza we tried to order a pizza and then we were told they do not have pizza?? We asks how many chicken wings come in an order and we were told 10 which helped us choose between a burger or wings. Waiting for 45 min the waiter asked if we got our food and we responded no food nor the beer, just as we had decided to leave another staff member came to ask if we had been served and we voiced our disappointment. They rushed our order we had asked for ranch ( which they do not have) we ordered blue cheese to go with the wings and they only brought only small sauce dishes of dressing. We asked for a few more and finally we were able to eat with only 20 min left before closing time. Great burgers and hip lil spot to grab a meal. Went on a quick lil lunch date and had a great time hanging out and talking and burgin'. Service was friendly and attentive and the food arrived hot and fresh. I got a bacon cheeseburger with a side of BBQ and sweet potato fries and my companion had a cheeseburger which she said was nice and tasty. The fries were crisp and everything was quality. She had a mojito and I had a mocktail mojito, both were delicious and well-mixed. No complaints here! Definitely check it out if you're in the area. I usually go with Buns Burgers for my quick fix, but that's more of a quick fix and "build-your-burger" style spot, that I usually get to-go and for a quick lunch. Went here last night for an early lunch. The server was friendly and took our orders, not minding any customizations. We ordered a pizza, 4oz burger, and fries.
