El Tap is a charming spot in San Juan. I was really impressed with the decor and comfort of the space. Additionally, the amount of beers they had to offer was great. My friend and I sat at the bar and ordered flights. I was most satisfied by the sangria and ended up ordering a glass of that after I finished my flight. The food was limited but I went with the beef sliders and fries. The food came out and it was well presented, but pretty bland. I am not a shy eater and usually clean my plate. I only ate 2 of 3 sliders and maybe half the fries, and that was because I was hungry, otherwise I would have had less. The beer was decent but the food was just meh, and the check was kinda high.

They have an awesome selection of local craft beers from all over Puerto Rico. Very nice ambience. Our beertender was super nice & informative. I could've stayed there the whole day trying all of the different beers on tap. We'll definitely come back here next time we're in town.

If you are a beer lover, you WILL definitely enjoy the different kinds of beer selections, with more than 20 beers from which to choose. I have a hard time deciding. So, this is the #1 best beer I've had in Puerto Rico. The prices are reasonable and affordable. Their service and vibes are really great and easily accessible.

Lots of beers on tap. The workers help with any questions and are very knowledgeable about each beers. The atmosphere of the place is a modern like brewery.

Would I recommend this place? In a heartbeat. Incredible service, ambiance, food and drink. Love the local beer selection because I don't want to drink something I can have at home. Staff is very kind and attentive, and makes great suggestions. Bryan is one of the coolest people I've met on the trip.

I was a little apprehensive to try a "tap" bar in San Juan just because I have been so spoiled in New York and Brooklyn and there are a plethora of locations that are amazing there for on tap craft beers. However I was so happy to have visited El Tap! From the clean and modern decor to the prompt and friendly service this is definitely a place to enjoy some local and imported beer as well as great food. I had the truffle fries and pork tacos. Both were delicious and great portions. I love to see the modern establishments in San Juan but it was also authentic to the city and fit right in. Thank you for giving me a little bit of home in your city!

Came here last week with a few coworkers and this is a great new addition to the area! El Tap has a HUGE beer selection, it's got the most compared to any other place I've been to while traveling throughout Puerto Rico for work. For beer lovers, this is the place for you! Not only is the beer selection huge, there's also wine and sangria for those that don't beer. Also, the food here is so delicious & perfect for sharing! I highly recommend everything I've tried here - Thick Cut Bacon (chimichurri sauce on bacon? genius!), Crab Bites, Chicharron de Pulpo (this was very good with sweet potato fries), Ceviche, Spicy Chicken Pinchos, El Lomo and the Fried Yuquitas. Let's just say I was beyond stuffed but I couldn't stop eating and continued to order the yuca fries. My only wish is I had enough stomach space for dessert but I guess that will have to wait until next time lol. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are a good size! The service was excellent, the waiters were very attentive and friendly. The timeliness of the food was on point. I'm really feeling the ambiance - chill vibes, clean space. It's the ideal spot to grab dinner, drink and relax. You can take beer and wines to go as well :) I can't wait to come back!

    Very impressive beer selection

FOOD ORGASM WITH THAT OCTOPUS DISH!! OMG it was so good! It is grilled to perfection with small ?fries or potatoes and a unique sauce. I live in NY, so I am used to great food and this right there was downright amazing. I can't comment on the beer selection (not a beer aficionado), as I came here specifically for the octopus dish after seeing a picture on Yelp! lol Such a foodie. Service was great-- welcoming and prompt. Reasonably priced menu and nice decor.

    Spicy chicken pinchos. Delicious!

Awesome vibe, cool as ice service, and great food n drinks! What's not to love? They asked me my taste preferences and selected a flight of local brews for me which were absolutely heavenly. My favorite was the Fok oatmeal stout. Then came the spicy chicken pinchos. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I've never had a batter that light on anything really, now that I come to think of it. So light and crispy! The sauce was so spicy it made me cry in a good way. I gobbled them down, told myself I wasn't allowed to get 3 more orders and have a chicken party, and got out of there before I ordered everything off the menu! The food was spectacular, the service superb, and the bathrooms were clean. Job well done, El Tap! See ya next time! Bonus: bilingual English/Spanish staff!

Very great service!!! There are 46 different beers to choose from, the first 18 options are all local beers and the service was just seriously so good. Our server helped us talk through the beers, helped us pronounce the beers in Spanish (lol) pretty close to the beach which is where we came from. Recommend !

Okay well they are literally out of 90% of their taps as they are focused for a huge local event tomorrow. Couple of local San Juan Cerveza Artesanal options. Decent menu selection. Cute hot date spot if you like craft beer. Clean, fresh and polished. Off Calle Loiza which is up and coming. Try the Leatherback "Farmhouse Ale" it's a St Thomas Ginger Bomb Beer. Refreshing and tasty if you like ginger. Enjoy that date night and get you some fresh craft

So, we are walking around old San Juan and I'm like homie I need the first drink we can find! Enter La taberna lúpulo. First, dude servicing the bar was extra cool. Just friendly and engaged and didn't act like we just business, but friendly. I wasn't even planning on drinking beer. But my homie was like what do you recommend and he poured a sample of some blonde ale and... wheat ale con parcha!! I was like o snap let me have a glass of that. Fire!! I wouldn't call it sweet, but it has that hint. More importantly it was fresh and not funky. I personally find tap beer is usually not fresh tasting and tend to prefer bottles or cans when I drink beer. But that was not a problem here. Tasted brand new and delicious. The location is unbeatable, in the heart of old San Juan. The decor was fun and eclectic. I'm a fan of the elephant personally due to my old school ties with elephant size productions. Oh and it was super inexpensive. It was like $4-$5 a beer iirc. Which is crazy for a trendy neighborhood like this (La factoría around the corner). Great job to the staff at Lúpulo. Highly recommended.

It's small, loud, a little gritty, and completely inviting--exactly what a true dive bar should be. The walls are covered in graffiti and stickers from years of visitors leaving their mark, and honestly, that's part of the magic. You can't help but look around and smile at all the personality packed into such a cozy space. One of my favorite details? Look over to the right corner of the bar and you'll spot what looks like a vintage cash register straight out of the 1800s. Then right in the middle of the bar you've got the modern point-of-sale devices. The contrast is hilarious and perfect--old-school charm meeting modern bar life. There's a pool table, plenty of seating for such an intimate spot, and yes, a restroom inside (always appreciated in Old San Juan!). But what really makes this place stand out is the service--the staff is fantastic, welcoming, and they pour seriously strong drinks that are also refreshingly affordable. This is the kind of place where you come for one drink in the afternoon and suddenly the whole evening disappears in great conversation and good vibes. If you're wandering the streets of Old San Juan and want authentic dive bar energy, great drinks, and a place full of character, this is absolutely a must-stop. Highly recommend.

Room for a total of 100 people. Feels: Welcome to Old San Juan, a mix of touristy and culture. The spot itself is popular for locals and tourists. As for the space itself, what's unique about this spot is this place isn't just one bar. It's actually a series of connected rooms (about 6-7 different spaces), each with its own vibe - speak easy, dance, casual, house, live music and more! I'm surprised each room can contain it's sounds while maintaining its own energy. It feels like a speakeasy maze meets nightlife experience. Dim lighting, vintage touches, and just enough chaos in a good way. DRINKS/EXPERIENCE It was such a fun night, not sure what I ordered but there is an abundance of flavors as every room has different selections. Upon entering you are welcomed by a set of stairs that lead you to an open floor plan that is decorated simple yet somewhat of a beach theme. There wasn't any employees anywhere to be seen except the patrons enjoying themselves so we were somewhat confused on what to do so we walked over to the register and were greeted by a gentleman from the back. He said we could sit anywhere we'd like and he'd come and explain how things work. He explained to us that they use a wristband and the taps have a sensor and we scan our wristband and it measures how much we get each time and we are billed by the ounces we pour; what a great concept. We enjoyed many of their beers, each one just as great as the last. My personal favorite was the peanut butter porter, delish!
