We ordered the Almighty minus the olives, medium size (14 inches diameter) on a Thursday evening. I was surprised to find that they close at 7pm, as it seems super early for a pizza spot, and slightly inconvenient for our dinner plans. But I asked to pick it up at closing time, the latest time possible, and the worker who helped me was super friendly and accommodating and didn't make me feel rushed. That same courtesy was demonstrated when I arrived. The pizza was coming out of the oven, hot and freshly baked. She offered, cheese, peppers, and sides of ranch at no extra cost. She even gave me a loyalty card, for a free slice after 10 visits/transactions. The restaurant was a tiny space, I didn't see any seating, so it looks like they only do to-go orders. It actually looked like the restaurant dining/waiting area is just being used for storage. The place looks like it hasn't been updated in the last 2-3 decades... I mean, it IS the original location, maybe they wanna preserve the look of the place!?! The pizza was amazing, a nice balance of cheese and toppings, a perfect savory combination of flavors from the salami, sausage, mushrooms, and plenty of other meats and veggies that made up this delectable pie. Everything tasted of quality and the thin crust had a light crunch to it at the ends. Great spot for New York style pizza!

    Only the worst pizza EVER!

I visited this place years ago and the pizza was amazing. There was a lady that owned it then. She could be mean but her pizza was amazing! I'm from out of state and I happened to be in town and ordered with intentions on getting the same great pizza. When I got to my destination and opened it, IT WAS AWFUL! The pizza was burnt to the point that I didn't wven know what was on it. It looked like bugs were cooked on it. The wings had a good flavor but they were burnt as well! I took a pic and sent it to my sister who was grossed out as well. She turned me on to this place when she lived in the San Jose area. Needless to say, I threw the whole pizza away and went to Pizz'a Chicago which I should've gone to in the first place. I will be writing a yelp and google review.

Customer service is cute. Food is terrible. Burnt af, new ownership needs to tale dome pointers from the former. I called about the pizza being burnt, they offered a new pizza -one size up, geat! Thank you. But it's still burnt and missing toppings. I'm calling the Po-lease

A Large Almighty, personal garlic knots, and free cake pops!

This is one of the best pizzas I've had in a while. Wasn't too oily and the crust (which is usually my least favorite part) was soooo good. Wasn't too chewy, wasn't too crispy. It was like a good breadstick but on the pizza. It was nice and fluffy and really complimented the pizza well. We got a Large (14 inch) Almighty for 3 of us. We also got a personal order of garlic knots (5 knots, meant for 1 person) and that was really really good too. No unappetizing chunks of garlic or overwhelmingly buttery, just nice and soft. It came out very hot. We called in our order and they told us a wait time of 20min, but they'd call when it was ready. The lady was very nice and service was great. Parking in that plaza is pretty easy, doesn't seem like it'd fill up. Definitely will come back here! IMO, the best pizza's I've had in the Bay are Curry Pizza House (only their Indian flavors), Cheeseboard in Berkeley, and Pizza Box.

    It's garbage

This is probably the worst pizza ever had. I honestly think it cannot get any worse. I was on my way from work, a bit hungry, the found the pizza box place, I order a slice for 7.50 to go, as I was eating I realized it's literally garbage, burnt at the bottom and the crust was uncooked, you cannot screw up a pizza like this

Slice of cheese and slice of mushrooms and onions

I won't be able to finish these in one sitting garlic knots are decent as well. Once slice is all you need to be honest if a slice is all you are going for.

    Cheese Slice Pizza
    Jadey L.

This SLICE moved me. The picture does NOT do this place Justice. firstly, I chose cheese only bc I didn't understand the true potential of ANY slice for 5.50. low expectations going in but was delighted to see the absolutely massive piece of pizza I'd just been handed. Ill admit it was hard to manage. It was in a brown bag that bled thru w grease and I couldn't set it down anywhere in my car. And it was so fresh that I couldn't hold it without burns. But the good outweighs the struggle. And I DIDNT SEE UNTIL AFTER. their $8 meal is an incredible deal. Full slice, drink, dessert, and garlic knots. I'll be really sad if they increase price but until then I'mma be back every week!! Too good

In my entire 35 year existence, there's not a small business on this planet that means more to me than The Pizza Box in Milpitas CA. Growing up less than one mile away from this fine establishment, my family's 1990s "TGIF" dinners were afforded by none other than this one-and-only maker of the UNCLE SAM and KING KONG. Former Pizza Box proprietor Emily, whose icy demeanor was legend in our neighborhood, was a person so dedicated to her pizza-making craft that she would sacrifice all superficial notions of decency in order to focus her entire being on producing the best pies ever known to mankind. Veggie slice for $3.95 at 7PM in the evening? Here you go-- piping hot out of the oven. Crispy at the tip, yet doughy and crunchy towards the crust. Generous mozzarella to give you the string cheese effect upon the first bite and just enough marinara-basil sauce to fire up your olfactory engines, but not too much to overwhelm the palette. A mountain of fresh mushrooms, peppers, olives, and whatever other fixin's your heart desires, if you so wish. In adulthood, sitting 3,000 miles across the country in Cambridge, Massachusetts, I long for a bite of a slice from the Pizza Box. While I love my family (who remain in the same childhood house in which I was raised), a slice from the Box sits in equal weight to my cherished ones as reason for making the trans-continental trek. I am pleased to inform you all that new ownership appears to faithfully carry on Emily's masterful work AND the existing supply chain of fresh ingredients for the benefit of the public. I feel deeply indebted to these people for this, as I continue to enjoy every delectable bite when I place my order at the Pizza Box. Thank you so very much for your hard work, and I look forward to many more of these bites to come. With much love, respect, and appreciation......your loyal customer.

large pizzas are around the size of a seat at the back of my car.

What a great place to stop for lunch after shopping at the strip mall!!!!…read more We couldn't decide where to go and we looked on Yelp for burgers or pizza. My husband was really excited to see they had a Straw Hat pizza still in Milpitas so we went there. When we pulled up, it looked deserted and thought "oh no" maybe it wasn't a good idea but we decided to go in anyway. WE COULDN'T BE MORE WRONG!!! The bartender/waitress was super sweet the minute we walked in. She was attentive, kind and very personable. She took our order right away and it didnt take long for us to get our food and drinks. She also told us about the specials they had that day (and on the other days as well). While we waited, my husband and I enjoyed chatting with her. Even though the place was empty on a Saturday, she was telling us about all the watch-parties they have (football, MMA fights) as well as large gatherings for parties and other groups. They have TV's everywhere but they're not extremely loud where you can't have a conversation with someone. The place was super clean (almost sterile LOL) and the service was exceptional. They seem to care about their community and that's rare to come by these days. Now to the food...it was hot and delicious! We got a pizza and some garlic twists. My husband said it took him back to his childhood going to Straw Hat. Again, our waitress was very attentive and asked how the food was and if there was anything else we needed.
