We ordered the Almighty minus the olives, medium size (14 inches diameter) on a Thursday evening. I was surprised to find that they close at 7pm, as it seems super early for a pizza spot, and slightly inconvenient for our dinner plans. But I asked to pick it up at closing time, the latest time possible, and the worker who helped me was super friendly and accommodating and didn't make me feel rushed. That same courtesy was demonstrated when I arrived. The pizza was coming out of the oven, hot and freshly baked. She offered, cheese, peppers, and sides of ranch at no extra cost. She even gave me a loyalty card, for a free slice after 10 visits/transactions. The restaurant was a tiny space, I didn't see any seating, so it looks like they only do to-go orders. It actually looked like the restaurant dining/waiting area is just being used for storage. The place looks like it hasn't been updated in the last 2-3 decades... I mean, it IS the original location, maybe they wanna preserve the look of the place!?! The pizza was amazing, a nice balance of cheese and toppings, a perfect savory combination of flavors from the salami, sausage, mushrooms, and plenty of other meats and veggies that made up this delectable pie. Pizza box sucks ass. I just left there the pizza box in Milpitas and got two slices of combination. The fucking dough wasn't even cooked. The toppings weren't even cooked and the sausage taste like regular fucking potted meat fucking garbage. I paid over $20 for two slices of pizza and a can of Coke I will never go there again and I will not go to the one in San Jose. I felt like I got ripped off. I visited this place years ago and the pizza was amazing. There was a lady that owned it then. She could be mean but her pizza was amazing! I'm from out of state and I happened to be in town and ordered with intentions on getting the same great pizza. When I got to my destination and opened it, IT WAS AWFUL! The pizza was burnt to the point that I didn't wven know what was on it. It looked like bugs were cooked on it. The wings had a good flavor but they were burnt as well! I took a pic and sent it to my sister who was grossed out as well. She turned me on to this place when she lived in the San Jose area. What more could you want out of a mom+pop shop pizza place that has the freshest pizza dough around? You don't come here for the looks/ambiance/service, it's a grab-and-go situation and the pizza is well worth it! It's like a NY-style pizza and there aren't a lot of combo options but my favorite is the cheese pizza & garlic knots! If you're looking for ambiance & grabbing beers with friends, I'd recommend Stuft Pizza instead but if you're happy to eat at home with friends, then Pizza Box is the place! This is one of the best pizzas I've had in a while. Wasn't too oily and the crust (which is usually my least favorite part) was soooo good. Wasn't too chewy, wasn't too crispy. It was like a good breadstick but on the pizza. It was nice and fluffy and really complimented the pizza well. We got a Large (14 inch) Almighty for 3 of us. We also got a personal order of garlic knots (5 knots, meant for 1 person) and that was really really good too. No unappetizing chunks of garlic or overwhelmingly buttery, just nice and soft. It came out very hot. We called in our order and they told us a wait time of 20min, but they'd call when it was ready. The lady was very nice and service was great. Parking in that plaza is pretty easy, doesn't seem like it'd fill up. Definitely will come back here! IMO, the best pizza's I've had in the Bay are Curry Pizza House (only their Indian flavors), Cheeseboard in Berkeley, and Pizza Box. read more

Our cousins brought over some pizza and bread sticks shaped like wontons for dinner and this was the first time we had it. The slices of pizzas are huge. We got 4 slices and there was 2 slices equivalent leftover. Bread Shaped Wontons: These are only good if you heat them up and eat them warm. They have the cheesy garlic bread taste that is nastolgic of Litter Caesar's. East Meets West: This was my favorite as it's very umami and unique. Papa Juan: This is my second favorite but I was surprised that the chorizo didn't give the pizza more flavor. The Almighty: Reminds me of the Costco combo pizza. The picture does NOT do this place Justice. firstly, I chose cheese only bc I didn't understand the true potential of ANY slice for 5.50. low expectations going in but was delighted to see the absolutely massive piece of pizza I'd just been handed. Former Pizza Box proprietor Emily, whose icy demeanor was legend in our neighborhood, was a person so dedicated to her pizza-making craft that she would sacrifice all superficial notions of decency in order to focus her entire being on producing the best pies ever known to mankind. Veggie slice for $3.95 at 7PM in the evening? Here you go-- piping hot out of the oven. Crispy at the tip, yet doughy and crunchy towards the crust. Generous mozzarella to give you the string cheese effect upon the first bite and just enough marinara-basil sauce to fire up your olfactory engines, but not too much to overwhelm the palette. A mountain of fresh mushrooms, peppers, olives, and whatever other fixin's your heart desires, if you so wish. I used to go here as a teen and young adult. I haven't been back since the new ownership but today was a really nice experience. I ordered via telephone and my two large pizzas were ready in about 20 minutes or so. I ordered around 2:25pm on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered: 1 Large "All Veggied Out" & 1 Large " Big Kahuna" It was worth it :) The dough, sauce and toppings are at the right ratio that creates balance of taste. Not overpowering each other but blending and teaming up to satisfy my taste buds. My stomach is happy. I normally don't go for pineapple pizza but the Big Kahuna was awesome. I would go back. Well, I try to give this place a shot... I look at the new menu and decided to try the $12 deal which was advertised one for u and one for another... At the end of the day, it was for a personal pizza with a can soda... Why not just be clear about it I thought u can get any drink so i got Snapple. Then I saw a $3 charge... And question it. The girl said that is not part of the deal. So I said cancel it. Then I didn't know what was going on... So, I just got pissed and cancelled the entire order and forget about it.... Pizza Box is great! If you need pizza for a party or event, this is definitely the place to come to. You can get a very big pizza for a very reasonable price. Plus? The pizza is delicious, too, so it's a win all around! I really liked the crust especially. On top of your regular pizza sizes (Small-Extra Large), there's the King Kong (24 inches) and the Uncle Sam (26 inches). 3 Star Review (New Pizza Box) When Pizza Box closed I was a little sad inside because the best pizza joint in Milpitas was gone. News started to spread that the place was under new ownership so we were rejoiced to hear the news. I had visited earlier during the social media sneak peak free pizza giveaways and to tell you guys the truth I came across truly disappointed. The free slices were thin, very salty, a little well done. Nothing representing what the "Pizza Box" used to be but free pizza is free pizza so nothing here worth complaining about. We weren't sure what the pizza was going to be like when they actually opened. Now for the actual pizza review (compared to old Pizza Box) A day after the grand opening we ordered a 2 topping Mushroom and Sausage Uncle Sam for $65 dollars. - Pickup time was reasonable (45 minutes) for the size of the pizza - Crust was spot on, thick but soft crust on the outside almost like a freshly baked baguette and thinner towards the middle but enough to support itself - Sauce a little more robust/thicker than before so an improvement here - Cheese: Good, what we expected. Just the right amount. - Toppings: SAD, THIS WAS A BIG MISS. We didn't get the amount of toppings we were expecting to see it was a very underwhelming amount. We were expecting 2 to 3 times the amount of toppings we received. Granted some of the toppings are more "imbued" into the cheese it was still far less than what we were hoping. We expected to see at least double the amount of toppings than what we had received. Comments included, "We ordered Uncle Sam breadsticks" , "I didn't have sausage in the slices I ate" and "cheese pizza" (See posted pictures) Overall: The recipe is a faithful re-creational of the original Pizza Box recipe but the sparse amount of toppings was a HUGE miss. I'm still mourning the loss of OG Pizza Box. So much so that I had to get a slice and see if I could drum up some nostalgia. This place ain't it. It's not that bad, but it definitely ain't the Pizza Box we knew and loved. Despite what other reviews have said about them using the same recipe, the dough is different and there is no end crust. You know how there used to be a big bubble at the end and when you bite in to it, it's like almost like a French baguette? Soft and chewy, yet crunchy? Ain't like that. I think it's awesome that they were giving away free slices! I wasn't living in the area when the old mean owner was here apparently, but the new lady who was giving away slices was really sweet and friendly. I got a free slice of pepperoni/olive/mushroom. Not sure if it's just cause it was free but the slice was pretty small and thin crust without an actual end crust bit if that makes sense. Cheese was generous but just tasted okay and toppings seemed hearty and fresh. For a cheaper pizza joint it's pretty satisfying and filling. Also I really weirdly like the texture of the bottom of the dough -- it has hole/bumps like bubble wrap and the contrast of its drier texture and the greasy cheese is really satisfying lol read more

The staff is friendly and extremely accommodating (although some reviews express some frustration with language barriers or rudeness, remember that these workers are human and have off days!). I never leave The Pizza Box unsatisfied because they make sure that I get what I want or the next best thing! The only reason my rating is 4 and not 5 stars is because the don't have bread sticks. Tonight I called and ordered the largest pizza they had for pick up. They told me that I needed to pay for it over the phone which was completely fine so I did and had a co worker go and pick it up. After he went to pick it up he called and said "thanks bro you could have gave me a heads up that I needed to pay for it" I immediately checked my bank statements to confirm if I was charged the $45.50 they told me they were going to. Sure enough my bank account was charged while they also charged a colleague in store. After THE CUSTOMER noticed the mistake and addressed it, the manager (I don't remember her name) confirmed this was a mistake on their end due to a new employee with inadequate training. To compensate the customers findings of a costly double charge, she offered a "free slice" next time I come in. I work nearby and at least twice a month order from them to provide lunch for my team. The unfortunate manager service experience did not meet the minimum expectations of a manager who treats customers right. Moving forward I will take my business somewhere else. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! i got take out from here for dinner (for work) because it was so close by and i wanted to try it. We got small (with tomatoes, mushrooms and olives) and a medium (beef, onions and pineapples). The small is 11.50 and the medium was 13.50. each with three toppings. I love how they let you choose whatever you want -- even cooked or uncooked tomatoes! They do skimp a bit on the onions, but its still really good! They told me to come in 20 minutes, i came in 30, but i still had to wait probably 5 minutes? I watched them make the dough and roll it out, and put marina sauce on it. I can see that they make it to order and completely fresh! it shows when you eat it, bc the crust and outside is so soft and chewy and delicious! They have HUGE pizzas, Uncle Sam being 26 inches and King Kong, 24". I came here also trying to see this "pizza nazi" everyone is talking about. She's vietnamese and/or chinese i can tell by the way she talked and when i went into the restaurant. When we spoke on the phone, she told me to tell my parents that the pizza was ready in 20 minutes LOL but i can see why, i sound like a freaking little kid. When i got to the store (pretty small, can fit only a few tables), she was actually really nice to me. I asked for a lot of extra napkins and plates, and she gave them to me without being mean, and when i asked for my takeout, she got it right away. The reviews are correct! You do get an awesome deal here at 'the Box.' Ordered a Super Large Combination pizza (20 inches in diameter) that cost $28 tax included. At 24 inches, this pizza fed a group of 4. The pizza itself was loaded with toppings, and often times the sausages/mushrooms would droop off the pizza! As far as the taste goes, it was slightly better than a Costco pizza. In other words, it was adequate. The real thrill of coming here, though, was coming face to face with the Asian pizza lady. After reading reviews of the 'Pizza Nazi,' I was expecting far worse. I probably wouldn't wanna sit down over a cup of tea and have a gUrL tAlK with her, but at the same time I wouldn't mind ordering pizza from her again.
