The pizza tasted good. The staff was friendly! The beer was nice and cold! I have to give the staff credit they were slammed! We went during Whiskey Flat Day weekend. They didn't get 5 stars because they said our pizza would be 45 minutes. No problem we ordered a pitcher of beer. We drank our beer and my husband asked about pizza and was told not ready yet. So he ordered another pitcher of beer and we sat outside enjoying our beer. Met lots of nice people outside. Wish they had heaters outside. Well we were enjoying our beer my husband said I'm going to go ask again because this is ridiculous it's been 1.5 hrs now. He went in to ask and oops they forgot and it's been sitting. What better way to start a weekend camping trip...Staying for a few nights at a Kernville campsite and decided to skip making dinner the 1st day, and instead go out. Around 6ish on a Friday night and the Pizza Barn was exactly what we were looking for, no crowd and a nice and relaxed atmosphere. The young lady who helped us was very friendly and patient with us as we evaluated our options. I was pleasantly surprised by the menu. For a local pizza joint they have a very nice menu offering various pastas, salads, sandwiches, calzones as well as as a nice selection of fried foods. Being the carnivorous eater I am, I opted for the meat lovers pizza and substituted the marinara sauce for the white garlic sauce instead. The wife and kids were set on a classic pepperoni pie. We also ordered a side of French fries and garlic French fries. The pizza...Bruh, this pizza was so good A solid meat lovers pizza of pepperoni, sausage, and Canadian bacon. I also tried the classic pepperoni and it was delicious as well. I actually prefer a thin crust pizza (which is what they do) so no complaints here. The Pizza Barn passed the "string" test beautifully. Each slice and bite continued to hang on with strings of cheesy goodness, with the cheesy flavor also being really good. The French fries are your typical shoestring fries. Nothing special, but no less satisfying. Unfortunately the garlic fries were a total miss for me. It definitely wasn't a lack of garlic, but they just didn't taste good and failed to come together properly. This place was so nice to start our trip, and I really admired all of the plaques and pictures of Pizza Barn fans showing their support. I also really liked the beautiful offering of outdoor seating and the fall photo opp. (Really pretty patio string lights and a nice hay bale photo opp) The Pizza Barn was great and it's no wonder it's continued to thrive year after year. I have had the joy of having Pizza Barn when visiting Kernville over the last 16 years. Hands downy favorite place to it in all of the Lake Isabella area. Clearly I'm a huge pizza fan, but Pizza Barn is legit and their pizza has consistently been amazing all this time. Next time your in the area, do your life a favor and stop by, order a pizza and a cold beer and sit on their patio and enjoy life. It's honestly so peaceful sitting out there. However the pizza itself is a 10/10. The crust is perfect, crispy and fluffy at the same time, the sauce is full flavor and great and the topping ingredients are of great quality. Honestly the cheese is even very good. You can't beat quality, worth every penny every single time. If you go in the summer months, they can be a bit busy. This is a very good option to eat at! The pizza was fresh, the crust was crispy yet thick enough to have some softness to it. Toppings were fresh! I'll be back as I have unfinished business on the Upper Kern (dang trout not eating my flies). The ambiance there is that of a barn from the midwest - they have fun paintings inside as well. We had a pretty big group of campers (10 adults 3 kids) up in Kern last weekend, and I opted to do pizza for our shared meal (fantastic idea!) We had a XL cheese, pepperoni, and the meat lovers, as well as a house salad with italian. All the food was delicious. We had extra pizza too, so maybe ill order a little differently next year. Felt like was in a....Pizza Barn in a quiet mountain town. We ordered just I time too as after I picked it up, the crowd started pouring in. Also, I haven't done a Yelp review in awhile so this tells ya, I was impress. But who am I? Exactly The Bad: I wouldn't call it bad but it's the reason it's getting 4 and not 5 stars. I ordered a sub sandwich, but it came like a regular sandwich, but it was so delicious and the chicken on the chicken and veg did not look like what was presented on the website. The food is wonderful. The service is efficient. They no longer have a salad bar....thank you Covid. You can order salads though which are delicious. The garlic knots melt in your mouth. Always good. We eat here at least 2-3 times a month. Last time though the delivery driver took our order that was there for pick up and nobody noticed that everyone had been served except my husband. We always order the cheese bread that comes on what looks like pizza dough. It's fabulous. Instead we received slices of bread with nothing but cheese melted on it. No butter, garlic, no flavor! My husband asked why did they change it. The response he received was that he didn't order it clearly and he should have clarified. When we walked in there was already a lot going on. People (employees) were running around all over the place. We waited by the door because we were not sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves (we were). When we got to the counter the lady was very polite and friendly but clearly over work and stressed. We got a veggie pizza and chicken salad. We probably waited over 30 minutes for our food. The salad was your average middle of nowhere restaurant salad. The veggie pizza was weird everything was cooked except the raw broccoli that was chopped and very heavily sprinkled on top.The crust was amazing though. The whole place was run by teens and young adults who were clearly over worked and did not have good time management. Delicious! Generous toppings and delicious pizza and salad and cheese bread. They made a mistake on our pizza toppings and offered to bake a small plain cheese, we appreciated the offer but decided to pick off the pepperoni (I know) our grandson only eats plain cheese. It was my friend Lucas Birthday and so I decided to buy pizza and drinks for everyone in our group. It was my first time here and Lucas and his wife Tanya has eaten here several times over the years. I bought two pizzas, one called White Water and the other one called Meat Lovers since one person in the group only likes meat and not vegetables. Both pizzas were delicious and the cheese was just the right amount, not too heavy. We decided to sit inside due to the warm weather outside, but this place has plenty of seating outside. This place has some large screen TV's. This place also has a room filled with arcade machines, so bring your children, lots of fun. This place sells beer, but since none of the six of us were drinking that day I didn't check out the menu for that. This place has tables that you can rearrange for groups of people. This place allows you to bring your dog and eat outside, but the sign says well behave dogs. I highly recommend eating here and bringing your friends. read more

We went on a morning hike and stopped by The Pizza Barn for lunch after seeing the reviews here on Yelp. The Pizza Barn is aptly named - it looks like a barn and the inside is very cute. The staff was friendly and greeted us when we came in. They have nice tables to sit at both inside and outside on the patio. We sat on the patio to soak up the sun. We ordered the Vegetarian that came with mushrooms, onions, green peppers, olives, tomatoes, and broccoli. It came out hot and was delicious. The crust is light and crunchy and the toppings are fresh. They also have local beer on tap from the brewery, Kern River. We liked the pizza so much, we actually got one to go for dinner as well.
