Lovely atmosphere, pleasant service. Outside areas relaxing and well maintained. The little guest houses outside are adorable.

We were booked into the inn by a client who wanted to make our first visit to Suffolk a memorable one. The home is a true Southern belle - a grand dame of historic mansions. It has been so lovingly restored and is perfectly appointed. We had so much fun exploring every inch of the home and absorbing its character. The proprietor (and very talented chef) Ruth has mastered the art of hospitality, inviting us to truly make the home our own. She didn't mind one bit that we planted ourselves in the reclining leather chairs in the stately octagonal library with another couple and yakked enthusiastically until the wee hours. After a blissful night sleep, breakfast the following morning was a marvelous affair. We prepped a coffee for ourselves at the Nespresso machine (fantastic!) and meandered around the grounds until the heavenly smell of baking croissants lured us to the elegant, light-filled breakfast room. Usually an eat-and-run proposition for us, we lingered for over an hour enjoying the delectable food and the conversation with the other guests. The charm of the house and its gracious owner had worked its magic - we were refreshed, satiated and inspired. We departed with great reluctance but the spirit of the Truitt house hung about us for the rest of the day and onto the next as we traveled home. You do not want to miss this unique and unforgettable travel experience - 5 gold stars!!!

The mansion, built long ago, has been restored and updated in every category. I've stayed at lots of B&Bs to find them "charming but in need of modern updates." This place has that without losing its original charm from 1909. Because I'm here for work, I'm purposely spending all my time at the house when not on location and I love to be able to move from study to library to the atrium and other rooms in order to read and for a change of atmosphere. Every room is unique and has a story. You'll love Ruth who will make your stay feel like you've come home to the family estate. Breakfast is made to order and she loves knowing what you like. Casual and comfy. Two words to describe the experience in this amazing, palatial mansion.

I recently attended a movie screening of Paranormal Activity, and the experience brought back memories of the old theater in my high school back in the Midwest. There's something about the classic architecture and intimate setting that made the suspense feel even more intense, adding a unique twist to the horror vibe. It felt like stepping back in time, but with the comfort of modern amenities. Cost was a great value at only $3 a ticket!! Great options for teens to do on. Their own or for parents trying to keep costs down. I can see it being a fun day out for a more age appropriate film for younger kiddos. The staff here were incredibly welcoming and organized, ensuring everything from seating to the event setup was handled smoothly. The sound and picture quality were excellent, and it's clear they put a lot of thought into making each event feel special. One thing we missed, though, was the option to purchase concessions--it would have been nice to enjoy some popcorn or a snack to complete the movie experience. What I love about the Suffolk Center is its versatility; they host everything from film screenings and live performances to art exhibits and educational programs, making it a vibrant community hub. If you're looking for an arts venue that combines historic charm with a welcoming atmosphere, the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts is definitely worth a visit. It's the kind of place that feels like home, even if it's your first time there!

They have a huge event space that you can rent out for anything, and it faces out onto the water which was a gorgeous view. I also did personal training here with Sierra Meacham and for anyone looking for a personal trainer but doesn't know where to start, like I was, I highly HIGHLY recommend reaching out to Sierra even just for a talk. She helped me personal train and helped me understand meal prepping and what to look for in my foods and what I need nutrients-wise for my goal as well as my weight goals! She kept pushing me to my PRs are farther:) She is so understanding and takes every problem I had whether it was with meal-prepping or weight-lifting posture hesitancies and how to overcome. I highly recommend her but definitely reach out and check in with her! She can book up quickly because of how awesome and thorough she is with her clients!! She can also guide you through the different rooms in Riverview such as the redlight therapy and saunas and what not and the importance of them on the body physically and mentally. They also have networking nights and people with different small businesses or want to get out there with the public and socialize I highly recommend checking in when the next night is and go... it's a lot of fun 100/10 recommend!! #personaltraining #mealprep #she'llsetyoustraight! #networking

EXPERIENCED Brenda and her team have worked at almost every venue and with almost every vendor in the area. They'll get a feel for your preferences and styles, and then provide you with a short list to choose from. PROFESSIONAL Responsive to emails and phone calls, considerate of issues that are important to one or both families, flexible enough to adapt and make your wedding day turn out the way you want it to be. They offer additional services like Workshops, Monthly Check-Ins, and a team of pros to answer any question any time. DAY-OF BLISS On the day of your wedding there are a couple things on your mind, and you don't want one of those to be "has the caterer arrived....do they know where to put the reserved seating signs......does someone have an extension chord in case the band forgot theirs?". Brenda and her team take care of EVERYTHING - the vendors all know to direct all of their questions to her. This was the most valuable part of our experience, our entire wedding-day was 100% worry free...priceless. ADDED VALUE Swann Soirées paid for themselves by securing us discounted services and vendors, with the peace of mind that they had a proven track-record and could be trusted. Beyond all of the above, Brenda is a smart, kind, affable person that cares about the people she works with. It was an honor to have someone as genuine as her helping us plan our wedding.

She was super chill but equally elegant, beneficially opinionated but open minded to my pretentious ideas, and easy to talk to-- like the big sister I never had! On the day of your event, she and her team can keep things running but also maintain a cool head. Her ideas come to fruition beautifully! She's also there to keep it real and steer you clear when you've hit a wedding planning wall. My wedding reception was at the Hotel Del. While that can come off as fluffy and seemingly ostentatious (which is not us as a couple at all), Brenda worked expertly with their team and us to keep it as "true" to ourselves as possible. Despite me being a "Type A", I DO NOT KNOW where we would be without her! Thank you Brenda and Swann Soirees!

The ladies bathroom is so dark when you walk in - it does not have the same light and bright coastal vibe as the rest of the marina. This contrast is also difficult visually. Last year are main problem was not having actual shower heads in the stalls. This year, we had no hot water for our shower on Sunday morning. When we checked back in the afternoon and evening there was still no hot water. Despite the bathroom facilities, the rest of the marina is nice. Kids riding their scooters up and down the piers makes for some non-relaxing sounds on the docks. The pool was not in working order, either.

It's a beautiful spot to visit and is considered part of the large Bay Creek complex. It is under that umbrella and is considered a part of the HOA and various other amenities offered by the complex. There is a gated community you'll drive past with colorful beachfront homes on the left, once you pass that you'll arrive at the Marina parking area and a large grassy field to the left houses a farmer's market during the summer with a few dozen tents with local vendors selling cookies, produce and some arts and crafts. We've visited a few times and sometimes it's very sparse and only has a few tents but during peak tourist season it usually perks up. The restaurant at the Marina doesn't seem to keep the same hours and def. doesn't have the same service and menu it had when it initially opened. They village has closed and no longer houses any shops - those have all moved to the town - it's now an event venue space that can be rented for weddings and they have several cute little colored and themed cottages on site that can be rented as part of a weekend wedding event. There is a small general store that sells some drinks and fishing supplies as well as a surprising amount of On Cloud branded gear for about half off. We love to browse this when we come to the area. It's not a spot I'd recommend for a nice dinner or hanging out as it appears to be very quiet and there isn't much going on here if you aren't fishing or boating from the Marina or here for a specific event. It is beautiful and clean and well kept.
