They validate at the pike! I think it takes a few hours off, so if you see a movie you don't have to worry about paying much. We ate at a restaurant and watched a movie and i think i only had to pay $1. This review is for the attendant that helped us after the Shoreline Jam Festival at the Queen Mary Events Center. We were directed to the structure for overflow parking but were essentially scammed out of $20 by the Queen Mary parking attendants. Just wanted to apologize to the attendant at the structure working that night who had the tough job of informing us we had been scammed. Its not the cheapest place to park but it depends on where you are actually going and if its worth it to park in this structure. I have parked here many times usually when its just a short period of time because of the cost. I've never run into long lines like other yelpers but then I'm going primarily at night. For a less than 2 hour stay I say go for it. Mai Tai Bar is closed now anyway so not a lot of reasons to park here anymore. read more

I remeber paying $6.00 for vallet parking and now the vallet parking prices increased by 400%.. After not going to the pike for a month I went this past weekend to have a nice dinner with my family, and a family friend. And after a few hours of dinning we left only to know we had to pay $48.00 for both cars plus tips just for using there parking, and my tickets were validated. One thing for sure i wont be using their parking structure, or vallet. I hope people read this and stop using their services. I would rather have UBER pick us up and drop us off. read more

Awful experience. You will be better off parking your car literally anywhere else other than this structure. I spent 25 mins parked in this crowded and overfilled parking structure to visit a pike shop. I misplaced my parking ticket but had validation from a store. They trap you in the lot until you pay the $24 lost ticket extortion fee. I recommend avoiding the Pike Parking Structure out of principal for their highly unreasonable lost ticket policy. read more

I live in downtown Long Beach (for the last 10yrs), so I have the opportunity to come to the pike often. Yet I don't anymore. And the reason is the parking. 8 out of 10 times that I come here, I have a problem with the parking. Once it was because I dropped the parking ticket somewhere along my path. I get it, not their fault. But I have a receipt that shows I just had lunch, and they have cameras everywhere. They'll review it for their interest but not for yours--that doesn't make much sense to me. Other times, it's been because there's some difficulty, or someone in front of can't pay, lost their ticket and so on...and you're behind them...so you're waiting...while your price is going up, or your validation expires. Or the machine is not working. Or it's not reading the validation. But now the validation is over the time because they had to go check, so now I owe??? OTHER parking structures don't seem to create all these problems, but it NEVER fails, when I come here. SOMEONE is ALWAYS complaining about something with the parking. The last 2 times I went and parked, no problem (others had them, but not me those days), but today was back at that 8 out of 10. I went to a movie, which happens to be THREE hours long. This is the amount of time that is validated for the parking from Cinemark. Because I stopped to USE THE RESTROOM, after this 3 HR MOVIE, now I was 5 min over the time and would have to pay $1.50. Okay, it's $1.50 and it's an irritant to add to all the other times I've been there but whatever. I'll pay just to leave the pike. I put my c/c in at the exit and the machine is not working. So I try it again, and it says it's already in use. I call the attendant, he says, I'll come right out. And then I hear him on the intercom on the exit next to mine. The other person is having problems w/ whatever else now as well too (see what I mean?). A few minutes later he comes out, tries it, and it is not working for him either. So he has me back up and go to another exit, same thing. So he tells me now I can pay him cash and he'll be right back with a ticket to let me out. I said, how about you just waive the $1.50 for the nussaince and the fact that I came from a 3 hr movie anyway and it was 5 min over (bathroom plus walking)...he said he was sorry he couldn't do that, that the signs are posted everywhere that this is the rate after validation, blah blah...yeah?? well the sign is posted also that I can use my c/c there to pay upon exit too--yet that didn't happen. So if we're being sticklers about signs and what we're supposed to do--- This place KILLS me. They want to bring business down here, but they do a lot with their "policies" to deter people. I know that when I want to see a movie, while Cinemark is closer, and a nice theatre, I will be going to AMC or the towncenter (Regal), and anything else down on the pike--like dinner, can be found elsewhere. IT's too bad too, cuz it could be a really cute place to hang out and enjoy downtown. I live down here and rarely spend time down here as a result of how accessible it is...when other places make it easier, why put yourself in a headache situation. So, if you go here, just read all the fine print, make sure you get to your car 30min before your time is up, because you could be sitting in the spiral for that long, and make sure you have cash and debit/credit card, as machines are likely not to work and they will keep you there until you pay. read more

This parking structure is poorly designed and the operators have done everything possible to make it worse. The rates are pretty high. But, that would not be an issue if parking in the structure were not so difficult. It is the most convenient parking garage to the Pike Place shopping and entertainment center including the area restaurants. But, they have closed off some entrances and the access to some rows to make a single car line being fed from several entrances. Essentially, it becomes one very long parade of cars going around and around up the levels hoping to find an empty space. Should someone start to leave, everyone comes to a standstill for them to pull out and a car to take their space. You can see empty spaces toward the outer rows--but, they're barricaded off. It used to be that the parking structure annoyed me, but I was able to put up with it to go to the movies knowing I could validate my ticket. That was when the shopping center and theater were practically empty, however. Now that the theater is popular with the reclining seats and there are some other stores and attractions, the place is packed and twice now, I have actually given up and exited after 15-20 minutes to get no higher than the fourth level and no spaces. Exiting is not as bad but still confusing for people unfamiliar with the structure. Go to the fourth (or lower) level, in the southwest corner is a circular exit that will allow you to skip the parade down the lower levels. Tip: Some of these posts have complained about the need to pay up front before you return to your cars to leave. I have not had a problem with that although the signs do say that you must. The exit booths are automated, not manned. But, I have been able to submit my ticket and a credit card at the exit booth without using the pay machines near the elevator. read more

I think it is funny that a parking structure is on Yelp. Anyhow, I am glad it is because I have so much to say about it. Sometimes I avoid coming down to the Pike or the "aquarium area" just because I don't want to park here. It is always crowded and you have to drive to level 100 just to find a place to park. The row and exits are sometimes blocked off for whatever reason which adds to the confusion. It's like an obstacle course in here! Once I walked around for 45 minutes looking for my car (I wasn't drunk) because I was so lost. I know the security guards were laughing at me with their hidden camera. People also park all crazy and crooked which is annoying. Additionally, on your way out to pay, there is a spiral driveway to get back down and I always get motion-sick on this part. This part is especially bad after you have been drinking (which is 99% likely after going to any restaurant or bar here). This driveway is often my last straw before I finally have to throw up. As for the paying, that sucks too. On weekend nights, the lines are sooo long and it is really expensive if you stay more than 1.5 hours. They DON'T take credit cards, so you have to have cash. My boyfriend has so many IOUs (they really do that here) and I have written so many $1.00 and $2.00 checks to the City of LB. It is sooooo annoying. This is the main reason I hate parking here, but you really have no other choice. I get frustrated just thinking about coming here. Yuck. I guess it is well-lit and safe enough. read more

The parking at the pike completely ruined today, long lines, no clear signage, useless "security" standing around instead of directing traffic and expensive considering it's nothing more than an outlet/mall (when was the last time you paid to park at a mall?) I've been here 2yrs and avoided the pike because of the bad rep, well its well deserved and I won't bother coming back. There are some great places to shop/eat in long beach but the pike isn't one of them, let this place die so something worthy of the name can replace it. read more

Don't park here, not only security is a joke, your car is more at risk than on the street. And when Management tells you they don't take responsibility for your car, they really don't care about you as a customer. Even to the point that if your car gets broken into and your monthly key card gets stolen with your belongings, they will charge you to replace it. Really bad customer service. read more

Oh my GOSH, what a nightmare parking facility. The employees there just don't care at all. They left me at the gate for 45 minutes without the manager coming out to talk to me at all, after her employee (Angela I think was her name) was blatantly rude to me. I finally had to call the 1866 number to complain. They took note of my complaint, but said all they could do was call the onsite dispatcher... aka, the teenage manager (Amy) backing up her teenage friend working the booth. (All of this for 3$ btw) So I ended up being late to work because of a couple rude teenagers after a parking ticket machine either ate my ticket or spit it out to the floor, where there was about 50 tickets littered. After I finally got out of my car, and having to abandon it to find this office of theirs, I ended up paying a fee that wasn't right just to get out. I had a validation, but that didn't matter. I hope this company knows how it's being represented! I will never use this parking facility again.. And if I see another Ameritrak in other facilities, I will park on the street. I get that this was an onsite issue, but if there is no control on how your company's name is being looked over, you take the fall too. And if I were the mall's rep seeing these reviews, I'd consider another parking validation company. read more

first off, i'm soured on the fact that they get you for $8 flat rate most times. What if i'm only going to be there for a an hour or 2? If they were running on tickets i'd be a lot more inclined to make the trip. I mean i could grab dinner, get validation and get out of that structure unharmed. But NOOOOO, lets tax your butt 8 frickin' dollars every time. Meanwhile the attendents hate their jobs, its obvious...customer service sucks!!!!! Don't get me started on the amount of time it will take you to get parked and then get out after...when its busy it could be LENGTHY. I recommend we all boycott the lot and protest with the city. It is no coincidence that the location has a big parking garage, with over thirty restaurants and venues combined the Pike has to have a lot big enough to cater to all the patrons. The Pike, with its seven story parking structure, patrons find themselves either really happy with the cost to station their car, or either really irritated for not reading the fine print. From a self parking basic rate of $1.50 every half hour to a daily max of $24, to self parking with validation from a retail store or a restaurant, you can get the first 90 minutes free of cost and up to four hours for $4, to self parking with validation from the cinema, you can get up to the first three hours for free. Moreover, valet parking is also available and is conveniently located right in front of the main walk way of restaurants. However, there are a few that don't realize the cost cuts that they can get from validation. Rebecca Rivera, a visitor from Los Angeles said, "I really like coming here, the theater is so big and clean, but after the first time I came, I found myself paying $18 for parking, I thought it was ridiculous. Then I realized I didn't get my ticket validated." Aside from the parking structure though, one can also use empty spaces with meters if they don't plan on staying too long. But according to the 28th Senate District webpage, there has been a recent hike has made meters outside to cost up to 50 cents per 15 minutes or $2 per hour. Council Member Dan Baker said there was a hike in meters in order to offer more spaces for short term parkers. "It's kind of an incentive to get people to get in the garage," he said. The hike has is said to raise about $360,000 in annual city revenue. read more

Worst customer service ever! Had my movie ticket validated at the theatre and when I inserted the ticket, they charged me $12 with validation! When I pressed the "help" button the lady was very rude and not helpful and accused me of lying and tried to justify that even with validation that I owed $12. I had to park on the side perhaps blocking outgoing traffic and walk back to the theatre to ask the manager for a follow-up validation ticket. He was upset himself that the parking garage people were not helpful. We were at the Pike for 3.5 hours and should've only been charged $6 but because I had to walk back to the theatre we were surcharges another $3. Bull shit!!!! I will be contacting management on this very issue. Re-train your parking attendants!! This issue could've been handled in a while other manner. And by the way fix your validation stations in the theatre! The usher himself said that they are always having trouble getting them to work!. read more

We have some out of town guests that wanted an adventure on the water. We thought about downtown Long Beach. We decided on and went out on the 45 minute Harbor cruise in Rainbow Harbor. Parked in the Pike parking Structure. First the elevators on the movie side of the bridge were out of order and we ended up having to walk up stairs, which one person in our party has difficultly using them. Went out on the Harbor cruise which will be reviewed later, got out ticket validated, stopped at a restaurant to eat but the wait was too long and decided to try another area for dinner. Came back over the bridge, slowly came down the stairs and checked out at the parking machine. 91 minutes. The charge $6.00, the same price if we hadn't dropped $48 on the Harbor cruise. And we go charged 1.50 for one minute over 90! This on top of having to take stairs since their elevator is out of order. Guess where we are not going to take out town guests to visit Downtown Long Beach anymore. That's the last $54 will see from us! Great job Long Beach for nickel and dime-ing us at your parking structure into feeling most unwelcome in this part of the city! read more
