Basque cheesecake (4/5) & Cherry blueberry pie (3/5) with a cortado

With the great reviews, we wanted to end our day with a sweet treat here! CHERRY BLUEBERRY PIE (3/5)- we HAD to try at least one pie slice since it looks like that's what they're known for. Generous slice, the filling was great, the crust was a traditional crumbly pie crust. I'm generally not a pie fan thought...so this wasn't life changing BASQUE CHEESECAKE (3.5/5) - the cashier said this was the staff favourite. Nice combo of the burnt caramelized exterior with the rich dense cheesecake paired with the cortado, caramel, and refreshing peaches that were in season!

Fresh peach pie. Fresh peach pie! We came from afar for the fabled fresh peach pie and it didn't disappoint. It was still warm from the oven (and thus slightly runny) but oh so delicious: a flaky crust with crisp and crunchy crimps, with a glorious Niagara peach filling -- just the right texture and full of fragrant peach flavour. The pies are pricey ($30) but well worth it and the service is great, with a few tables to enjoy the pie and watch the baking process.

We ate here a couple days in a row because the food was so good! I loved the pizza slices and the crust was like biting into a cloud, you'll see. We also had the smoked salmon sandwich which was on fresh baked baguettes. Even the coffee is top notch too. You will not be disappointed with anything you get here. The staff is also so kind and accommodating. Can't wait to go back!

A cute little bakery in Virgil, near Niagara-On-The-Lake. With outdoor patio seating and a small indoor dining area. Most people get their treats to go. It's a busy spot and fresh baked goods sell out quickly. So go early or call ahead to pre-order your desired items. On my first visit, their famous Apple rolls were sold out. But we got to try their beautiful fruit tarts, muffin, pie and pecan butter tart!

The most famous product they have here is peach pie which uses fresh peaches, so it's available only during the summer when Ontario peaches are in season. It's definitely very very good, along with their peach tarts. Additionally we tried their breakfast bun which is a bun baked with a sunny side egg, bacon, and cheese - sooo good! The service is excellent and friendly, the ambiance needs work. However we will definitely come back for again in the future just for their heavenly peach pie!

Great pastries. We tried the lemon meringue pie. The lemon curd was stellar and soft, and the meringue was a great consistency. The standout was really the pie crust - crisp, flaky, buttery; perfect. The only thing was the curd ate pretty sweet.

We first visited the Pie Plate on our maiden tourist trip to Niagara Falls and I've been dreaming about going back! Two years on as residence, we've come back ferrying our tourist friends, and it has lived up to all the amazing things I've remembered it to be. The blue cheese pear pizza is worth writing home about and the steak cheese sandwich also divine, but I'll always go for the pizza again! Make sure you save yourself some room for the desserts as well or take one home with you. Lovely food, real charm of a place with top notch customer service - high on my list of favourite places. Skip the crap around Niagara Falls, visit the Pie Plate, and Niagara-on-the-Lake.

A nice brunch place to escape all the touristy things. We got the queen boot thin crust pizza which was so yummy. They also had a yummy breakfast sandwich with all the works and a tomato aioli. The ambiance is really warm and inviting and the staff are helpful and friendly. They are happy and willing to sub out any meat in the food and make great recommendations. There is also a specials board with daily chef made items. Also, there is a hugeee selection of sweets and pies. Definitely recommend !!!

Menu is a bit limited to this + a handful of pizzas.

I've been here before for a casual lunch and had a positive experience. So I hope that last night's dinner was just a one-off! After ordering 2 pizzas, it took 45mins...almost an hour to get our dinner. It's not as if the small cafe/restaurant was bustling or anything. The waitress did apologise and said, "everything was made from scratch", but 45mins, really? Italian stone oven pizzas take 90s to cook, so not sure how to account for the rest of the time. Menu is also a bit limited. And they wouldn't make 2 different halves on 1 pizza, despite pizzas being the same price and very similar in toppings! I found this weird. When the food finally arrived, I was drunk, and food was fine, but not really worth the wait.

    Cute presentation for silverware

Love love love. We stayed at the air bnb (HIGHLY recommend) and ate lunch here the one day. Food was made fresh to order and delicious. Pear and blue pizza and fish tacos. Atmosphere is warm, friendly and homey. You can tell locals live this place.

This is my third time here, or attempt to try this bakery as every time I come it's too late and they are closed. We ordered a slice grape pie. I find it a bit too sour. It's a very relaxing cafe overall. I felt like I am at the cottage again!

Food: We tried the Pearl and Lover Boy wood-fired pizzas, which were excellent -- especially for non-Jersey-style pizza -- along with the Peach of Mind salad (which I did not eat since I do not like peanuts). Everything was flavorful and satisfying, perfect for a casual meal. Service: Service was solid, though you may have to wait a little longer for food if it gets busy. The staff handled everything well, and the overall experience felt relaxed and friendly. Aesthetic: The outdoor eating area is great, with lots of seating and a fun atmosphere enhanced by live music. It's a perfect spot to enjoy a meal and drinks on a nice day.

From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by the beauty of the vineyard and the warmth of the patio. The pizzas? Absolutely next-level -- crispy, creative, and loaded with fresh toppings (that balsamic drizzle and basil combo was a winner!). We also couldn't get enough of the marinated olives and roasted peppers -- a simple yet flavorful starter to kick things off. Live acoustic tunes set the scene while the sun dipped behind the cherry trees -- yes, they grow cherries here too (but don't pick them ). Whether you're here for the food, wine, atmosphere, or just to unwind in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Barrelhead hits every note beautifully. Can't wait to come back.

The setting for The Grist is incredibly adorable. It gives industrial chic in the best kind of way,…read moreso walking in is comforting and cozy but still sophisticated. The food was more of a 3.5, but I think it was truthfully just what I ordered. For me, the roll was just too greasy to begin and then when they add the Italian dressing it ended up being difficult for me to eat. That being said, it's a given that it would be a heavier dish, but I didn't expect it to be quite so heavy. I stole some fries from my dining partner, and they were yummy. And if you couldn't tell, the pretzel was great (I took a bite before I took a picture. Whoops.) I do believe if I ordered something different (and the menu is quite extensive) I would likely have a better experience with the food, so I'd definitely come back. There were a few times it was difficult to get the attention of our waitress, but it was very busy on the day we were there. All in all not a bad experience, but not a stand out either.

We both grabbed flights, and while everything was solid, there were four beers that totally stood out: * Horchata Wit - creamy, spiced, super smooth * London Fog - light, unique, full of flavour * Cantarito Sour Ale - bright, citrusy, refreshing * Smoke'd Scottish Ale - the most unique beer we've tried in a long time It's rare for a brewery to hit this many home runs in one visit. For our appetizer, we got the Baked Brie-zza, and wow... dangerous. The dough (pretty sure it's house-made) is incredible, and the Brie adds so much creaminess while the fig compote and hot honey round it all out. Just so flavourful and sooo tasty. For mains: * I ordered the Baked Chicken Parm Ziti -- nice and cheesy, chicken cooked well. Noodles were slightly overcooked but I still enjoyed it. * My wife had the Smoked Tuna Tacos, loved them, and powered through the serious spice level Our friends enjoyed their meals and drinks too. And we're 100% coming back. The menu was super appealing and the pizza looked unbelievable -- easily something we need to try next time along with a few other dishes we had our eyes on. Overall? A fantastic experience. Great food, great beer, and easily some of the most memorable flavours we've had in a long time. Interior is decorated nice too, really cool and clean vibes!
