Great fish & chips! The charcuterie was also delicious, i especially loved the fig jam cubes. They have tons of seating indoor and outdoor on a little rooftop. Not my favorite espresso martini, unless you're a black coffee lover.

Fast and friendly service. Cool British pub interior. Unfortunately the sunday roast we came here for was bit average. My roast chicken was ok but the accompanying sides were like a sub par thanksgiving dinner. The Young's ale was pretty good though. My wife's rump roast was tough in spots. Maybe this place is best as a pub after dark.

Great local pub! Wonderful drink selections & friendly staff.... The upstairs & roof terrace are cool. Need a cold beer and/or traditional ale? If you're answer was Yes, then the Phoenix is a perfect lace to take flight.

This is not a gastropub so I don't feel I can give it the full 5 stars but it is comfortable, inviting and friendly. Staff are friendly and the place and bathrooms are clean and hygienic. The choice of beers, ales and ciders is good and I enjoyed my food selections. The standard menu looked pretty good but I selected off the daily specials and had 3 tasty venison sausages with triple fried chips and gravy on the side. Good English fare with a tiny amount of Rocket greens to kid me into thinking I am eating a tiny bit healthy! (Not!!). Good deal at £12.50 Decided to be really bad and have a blackberry and apple crumble with custard (also super english right?!?). £6. In fact it wasn't a true crumble - somewhere between and crumble and a pie - but enjoyable and tasty nonetheless. A pint of Aspall's draft cider and I was ready to go!! Review #69 2019

Great food ... I wish they are more accommodating for larger groups but we got the table. The food is good, fish and chips were not too greasy... bangers and mash great taste and really loved caramelized onions. Beer was great- cask young's and kings something :) Good little stop on the way to park and palace

Excellent upscale pub fare! Just what I was craving after a few days of fried food and a good but heavy Sunday supper the night before. Group of three, stopped in after visiting the DaVinci exhibit in the Queens Gallery. Beers were cold and satisfying, and the bartender made a good Old Fashioned cocktail as well. Foodwise, the chicken liver terrine was a great way to start. Two of us had specials of the day--I had to try the vegetable Wellington with squash and mushrooms and it was everything I was craving (ie, lots of vegetables and not too rich.) It was served with very well cooked beets and potatoes and gravy on the side. We also had one of the other specials, a fish pie with mash and broccoli, that was equally excellent (and very filling). Other member of our group stuck with the grilled asparagus side and mushroom tart appetizer and was equally satisfied. All in all we were very happy to find this place for the elevated British menu and good drinks. It was nice to leave feeling well satisfied but not weighed down.

A view of the warm, friendly interior.

I was really looking forward to a nice Sunday dinner here; the atmosphere was warm and convivial, the beer was excellent, and the service better than I expected in such a popular pub. Regrettably, the roast chicken I ordered was absurdly dry, notwithstanding the delicious gravy. The duck fat potatoes were a true highlight, and the Yorkshire puddings could not be improved. All in all, avoid the chicken, and enjoy the other wonderful aspects of a wonderful pub.

Great pub near Victoria. Eclectic decor strikes the right mix of hip/cool. Lovely open fire. Can get crowded/noisy. Decent wine list & pub grub. Ideal after a walk across the park. Best seats are on the sofa next the fire.

Pulled this place up in Yelp and decided to give it a try since we were in the area sightseeing. Decided to order the venison pie after the wait staff recommended it. It was very very good! I'd definitely come back for it again.

We found this place after a cop at Buckingham palace recommended it. We are so grateful that he did! Two out of three of us order the cheeseburger with fries. This hands-down was the best burger I have ever eaten. Every part of the burger was delightful from the bread to the cheese which tasted like your cream. I don't think I've ever finished an entire burger in one sitting, will this one I did! The ambience reminds me of a French coffee shop, or old-school home converted into a restaurant. If ever I am in London again I will be back!

Pleasant but pricey gastropub in Victoria, with a decent lunch menu and solid selection of ales. The Phoenix is nice and light, airy place, and the fact that the heating was broken added to the effect the other day. However, I kept my coat on and enjoyed the (slightly tough) minute steak, and even more so the hand cut chips, which are excellent - the best I've had in a pub. It's not cheap but the service is top notch and the Discovery was on form

This was a nice pub one Saturday afternoon to grab a pint of London ale and get a nice portion of fish-n-chips. They open at 12:30 PM. I admit I had to look at the menu to see what the green stuff was that I was eating. It was mushed peas. Us yanks don't get that side dish often in the states. In fact, I don't think I've ever had it before. We don't get our beer served at room temperature either but the London ale wasn't bad at all. I wouldn't hesitate to order it next time. Inside there is a huge bar, some tables, and a nice small patio outside in the back. Like the others have said, it's location is nice because it's a short walk from Buckingham Palace, but you probably wouldn't find it unless someone told you about it. I can't give 'em 5 stars because after waiting an eternity I had get up from my chair to ask for my check. This was after my waitress pulled a disappearing act. It's not a big deal, maybe she thought I was going to spend the rest of the afternoon and evening there. It's nice, but it ain't that nice.

Great atmosphere for a pint. Been on a mission to find the best fish and chips in the area and so far this is my No. 1 pick.
