You can even get medications that have to be compounded. With that being said, they require a 48 hours notice for a refill on compounded meds. We have to refill Omeprazole for our Pomeranian mix every 30 or so days, but it's hard to tell exactly when to order 48 hours in advance because it's a liquid and it's hard to tell when it will run out. It's also tecommeded to discard after 30 days.

It's something I've yet to find in one of the big box chain pharmacies. I feel strongly that the person who is filling your prescription which you will then put in your body, should not only be highly qualified in their profession but also have a true dedication to serving the best interest of their customers including personalized service. After watching the steady decline of a chain pharmacy's customer service skills which I had utilized for most of my adult life, I decided to explore the idea of transferring to an independent pharmacy. After being spoken to so condescendingly by a pharmacist on duty while calling to follow up on a medication concern, I knew there had to be a better option out there as this relationship was not sustainable. On a whim, I emailed Clarence Pharmacy on a Sunday afternoon with my concern and questions regarding transferring scripts and received a response from one of the owners shortly thereafter the same afternoon. The communication was fantastic and the transfer process was seamless. Same cost with insurance as the chain. Walking in to pick up the script, I was impressed with the whole presentation of the pharmacy itself. It had a warm and friendly vibe to it as you're welcomed with a smile and talk about the weather. It was so refreshing to experience that small town feel and personal service. If you find yourself in the same frustrating position I was in, just know there is a much better option out there. This is a 24/7 operation. These guys offer up opinions, which have been very useful in the past, based open their product knowledge. There are other places that offer cheaper co-pays, and you can have them. Rite Aid, midnight shift, is all I'll deal with right now. Added note- one of them questioned a 'scrip that I was picking up. It was for my daughter who was in her third trimester of pregnancy. Turns out there was a class action filing against the manufacturer of this commonly used drug that HAS THE POTENTIAL to cause pulmonary hypertension in newborns. Baby is fine. Daughter did not take the suggested drug. Thank You Rite Aid.
