I thought this was odd since she has never had trouble with grooming before. Once I got her home, I noticed that she had two nicks, one on her face and one on her private area. I didn't realize how matted he was from two months of no grooming. Bree was so sweet and kind, she cleaned him up and called me to tell us that his tail would have to be shaved because it was so matted. She wanted to make sure it was alright with us. I know that our dog has great and loving care when he is there. I schedule his appointments early in the morning, around 730am with Bree. Our dog is the only one Bree works on at this time and he's usually done in 2 hours. This is unlike PetSmart in which you drop off your dog in the am and then pick up in the pm because they do so many dogs at once. I know our dog is not going to be placed wet and cold into a crate while the groomer works on another dog. We are from the West Coast and when we moved here we didn't know where to go for grooming. We had two poodles but one has since passed over the Rainbow Bridge. Poodles need good and patient groomers. Gwen's has been great with my request not to have our white poodle be shaved with a size 40 razor since he is sensitive and gets skin burns easily. The cons are that they are disorganized with scheduling. There have been several times when I have scheduled an appointment, I called to confirm, and then being told there is no appointment. We were very spoiled by our previous groomer on the West Coast. She was an excellent groomer. She did not require yearly immunizations for our dogs. Another con is that we must have yearly immunizations for our dogs. If you are a holistic pet owner and you want to vaccinate every 3 years, then you could not bring your dog here. On a scale of 1-10, Gwen's grooming is a 7. It is not excellent. I have had two excellent groomers in the past. It is not bad grooming either. I would rate this as above average. I can live with the cons as long as I know my dog is safe and being groomed individually. I am confident Gwen's will take excellent care of my dog.

Very good customer service. 4/5 stars because we were out of the parking lot before I realized I had been charged for 2 bags of dog food. I returned to the store because it was $20. Rather than wait for a refund, I just grabbed another bag of what I had been charged twice for. The cashier was very apologetic and even seemed a little embarrassed. We dropped the dogs off and two hours later were called back to the store for pickup. Our babies came back to us soft and sleek, smelling like oranges, and rocking a cool new bandana. We weren't as pleased with their mani/pedis, but that's a shape preference more than anything. Some of the ladies are better at pawdicures than others, oh well. It was great not to have to wrestle the dogs into the tub and then watch everything in my house become one big towel for them lol. The bath service turned out to be super convenient and affordable for us. We're already looking forward to our next visit! -------- We pretty much only come here to get our dogs' nails done. I loved my PetSmart in Arkansas, but this location is slim pickins as far as treats and doesn't run nearly as many deals on toys. Since we only do the pawdicure, it's considered a walk-in (cannot he booked online, as far as I can tell) though there isn't usually much of a wait so we can do both dogs fairly quickly. The pawdicure service for $20 includes a nail trim/grind and cleaning of the ears. The "menu" says it also includes bandana and scented spray and while I don't want either, I've never been offered. By now, my dogs have hassled every tech in the salon and still came out with pretty nails. These ladies are patient and thorough and as far as I can tell, the nicest people in the store. So, 4 stars because I love the grooming salon staff and might just be too picky about the other stuff lol. They just don't have the selection of natural treats I'm looking for and I can get my tough toys cheaper online elsewhere.

I just move on, but was so…read moredisappointed and disheartened at my dog's first grooming after moving back to Iowa from The Groom Station in West Branch, Iowa and not hearing back from the owner in response to my disappointment, that I feel the need to do so, for whatever it is worth. Not with $20 let alone $126. Here are pics of her recent groom job yesterday. I asked that they keep her long and that didn't happen and instead even shaved her bald in sections and very uneven everywhere. She didn't even have any mats yet, but that was her excuse. The pics don't even do it justice. Update: The owner did reach out and refunded the visit. She did want me to bring my dog back in for her to see (which I initially took offense to as if she didn't believe the obvious pictures but that is not why according to her).By then it would not look exactly the same since I had to do something to try to even things out while it grew out and I didn't want to cause my dog undue stress since I was not going to have anyone else mess with her at this time.. Luckily, it will grow back and eventually be back to normal but would be hard for me to be okay with same shop even with different groomer at this point.
