I brought my dog in to be groomed. When I picked her up, I noticed that her report card said she'd been difficult during grooming. I thought this was odd since she has never had trouble with grooming before. Once I got her home, I noticed that she had two nicks, one on her face and one on her private area. I understand that people make mistakes, but they need to own up to them. Clearly, my dog was "difficult" because she'd been cut not once, but twice. I will not bring my dog to Petco again. read more

Today I drove 3+ hours roundtrip to take my pup to get groomed. I get to the store and there is 0 associates up front or visible. I finally manage to get to the grooming area, and they inform me that I am required to show her vaccinations--which I've not had to do since her first grooming. This, of course, was impossible since I had 0 notification prior nor was I within driving distance of my home to get her vaccination records. So my boyfriend and I wasted our entire Sunday driving to and from this Petco only to be turned down because of their lack of communication. read more

Pretty clean store, they have small pets here and the cages or area's they are held are very clean they sell fish's and bird's along with reptiels they had one spider there, They had a few Cats I don't think they usually do. They have a pretty good selection of cat and dog food and dog treats. I usually go to pet smart, they are pretty much the same place not much different between the two. read more

I brought my dog into Petco a few days ago and was so incredibly impressed by one of the young men working there named Matthew. I just got my puppy not too long ago and I'm still a tad bit unfamiliar with what the best type of food/diet/treats are for him, but when I spoke with Matthew he had the answer for everything that I asked! Not only was he extremely knowledgeable, but he was very professional and courteous and you could tell that he has a big love for animals! I know it may sound silly but finding this great of Customer Service can be very difficult nowadays. I am now going to be a regular customer at this location because of the wonderful experience I had with Matthew. I would encourage anyone who has questions about their animal to stop in and ask for Matthew and you will see just how knowledgeable and caring this young man is about animals. read more

This does not even deserve one star. I have never been so disappointed with a business before. I knew while scheduling my appointment that I was walking into a business that is run with inconsistency and unprepared employees. Each time I have had my puppy groomed here they have changed my appointment time at least twice (I have taken him here three times). In my opinion this is a scheduling error that needs to be fixed, I do not appreciate scheduling an appointment and having to change it every single time I need my puppy groomed. We came in on a Sunday, I left him at 1045 and was told the appointment would take 4 hours. I made sure to let them know he is afraid of things that move fast (ie doors that swing open at him) and to just please go slow with him since he would be away for so long from me. I GET IT, they cannot cater to every need a puppy has, but when you yank him through a door you swung open quickly it upsets the owners. The leases they use force the dogs to move or be choked so my dog had no choice but to move quickly to get into a kennel. Four hours went by and since I was told he should be done by the end of 4 hours I decided to walk in and ask how much longer it would take, they told me he just wanted to lay down and be chill. I was a little irritated but thought, okay, nothing I can do. They told me to come back in another hour. I left to drive around and they called again and told me to wait another 30-45 minutes because they had to wash him again. I came to Petco to watch through the window to see if he was even being groomed, he had been there without being let out to potty, drink or eat since 11, at this point it was 5pm. I noticed they were super rough when grooming his face, this was upsetting to see although he loves having his face pet and rubbed he doesn't like it being brushed or trimmed. The employee ended up coming out and giving me a discount for my wait, I was thankful for the discount (ended up being $50) I do not believe I should have paid a penny once I got in there. My puppies eyes were blood shot from what I assume to be stress? His tail was between his legs even when I got in there. They went on to tell me he pooped in his kennel and was left to lay in it for what I can only imagine to be hours since they were so busy. They told me he had three accidents (from being so scared) but they put all the blame on him and me. I took him home and now he cannot stop itching at his ears, they are bright red on the inside and he won't let me touch his sweet little face. I have had my puppy since he was 12 weeks old and he has never shown me his teeth from being mad from touch until today. He won't eat or keep anything down after this experience. I understand animals can be stressed from being left alone but I have never had this big of a problem EVER. My heart aches knowing that I allowed this to happen to my sweet boy. read more

I am SO HAPPY with this Petco location. I go to this store often to get food, treats, etc. and always have the nicest people at the register. They always give my dog plenty of pets and treats whenever we go there! I decided to try out the grooming and I couldn't be happier. I got my dog from a shelter and he's a Blue Heeler mix so he can be difficult in strange situations, and rightfully so! However, I explained why I was a little nervous for him and after talking to the groomers and seeing how they talked to him and how patient they were I will forever be returning to this Petco to get my dog groomed. They were so good to him and when I picked him up they were all playing with him while waiting for me. Sending out a huge THANK YOU to everyone that works at this Petco!! read more

I shop here when I'm visiting family in the area. My main reason for going is the doggie biscuit bar. You can mix and match your own dogs treats :) The cleanliness of the store isn't that great; at least not when I'm here or compared to the PetSmart down the street. Customer service has never been outstanding either. If it weren't for the treat bar I wouldn't return. read more

Petsmart and Petco are very different. First, Petco is far more overpriced on food, treats & toys. While they have a wider selection, for items that they share, even Target kills them. Second, despite a recent remodel, the store is filthy. They sell birds, lizards, fish and cats. It may be a good place to get a turtle & it's certainly better than Pet's Playground but Petsmart is the best store in town for your animals by far. I only go here if there is a big sale. read more

I brought my dog Copper to Petco to get groomed. Grooming salon manager, Christy, did a fantastic job. When we checked in she did a great job explaining the different types of services available and recommended what would be best for my dog. Copper was done being groomed on time and looked and smelled amazing. I am extremely happy with Christy and her salon team and will bringing my dog back in the future!! read more

I brought my shih tzu in to be groomed she had a couple small mats they automatically said shave her. I thought this crazy talk this is the second time. They said this both times it took me 15 minutes to comb them out. I think these groomers are just lasy. Who wants to groom their dog before taking them in. I thought this was their job to cut and groom her hair. Every dog I have ever seen leave this salon has been bald. I wasted my time taking my dog there just to be turned away because they didnt want to comb her. I took her directly to pet smart and they said they here hear this all the time about Petco and assured me they would be able to do the job without shaving her. I will now be their loyal customer. Do not take your dog there unless you want it shaved bald. I feel they are unwilling to put with any effort to make the customer happy. And made me feel like I neglect my spoiled baby. read more

We go here only to get our dog food. We get Blue Buffalo canned stews and Solid Gold Green Cow. Our dog loves Green Cow but it really stinks. The staff are always helpful. The negative is I like to buy the dog food by the 12 pack and they usually don't have 12 packs available. One of the staff told me they would order more of the food we get so they would have 12 packs in the back. Again, very good customer service. That's important to us. Past reviews have stated the store is not clean. I think the store is clean. It doesn't stink when I go in the store. It doesn't smell musty. Petsmart is close by but the customer service is not as good and they don't sell Solid Gold. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service!! We went in to look at getting another conure. We asked a lady if we could handle the bird (it would have been stupid to have bought a bird without knowing its personality.) Especially considering how ridiculously over priced they are! I got my other bird from a breeder for half the price and great service. The birds were being fed a terrible diet and were in a plain white cage. They were very unhealthy and lonely. This lady who was supposedly "helping" us, was extremely rude!! She flat out told us we couldn't handle the bird and told me I shouldn't get another! She had no idea what she was talking about, her information was completely false! She was so mean that she made my daughter cry! Will definitely NOT be going back! read more

AWEFUL!!! Be careful, who your leaving your pets with....! We took our 3 and 6 year old Labs to this location last week. Our Labs are like our children, they are completely healthy, exercised daily and once in a while we will take them in for their nails to be trimmed and bath/ brush. This was our second time to this location, first time, it was fine from what we knew. This last appointment, our 3 year Lab, came out of the appointment with 2 large swollen masses on both of his legs. He has never had anything like that before, clean bill of health and very active. We first noticed as we walked to the car he walk with a minor limp and then noticed the half of a baseball sized mass on his lower thigh on the left and a golf ball sized mass on the other leg in the same location. We immediately were concerned and brought our dogs back into the store, at first, we were not upset but concerned with size of the masses and how this was not there before the appointment or ever before. The groomer who checked us out, seemed unknowledgeable and stated that the swollen masses were cysts but we explained that they were never there before and it was weird that he had 2 massed in the same location but opposite legs. She was unsure and went to the back and stated that the groomer who cleaned our dog had left, so she asked a different groomer that stated it was probably an allergic reaction. I stated that we have been here before and never had any problems here or at any other groomer before and asked if she really thought it was an allergic, then why would it only show in the lower thigh and be swollen like the worst bee sting ever? So we left more frustrated and concerned because of these ridiculous assumptions. Long of the short of it, we took our dog to the 24 hour Vet and by the time we got there the swelling started to subsided and our dog was walking better. The Vet was unsure of the cause and stated he was in good health, otherwise, the Vet expressed due to the nature of the swelling, she only see that with some type of trauma or injury, so the next step would be to do an orthopedic examination and take lower leg x-rays...She released our boy with pain pills and light activity and told us to monitor his behavior and legs. NEVER going back again! read more

If you are looking for good customer service and a friendly store, then forget going here. I walked out after being treated extremely rude not only by a cashier but a manager as well. I found the PetSmart right down the road to be a much more pleasant place to do my shopping. The customer service beats this place hands down.
