I went there a couple weeks ago. I really couldn't hardly tell the woman groomed my dog at all. He was bathed and fluffy which is not what I wanted. I wanted him less then half the length that we talked about. Then she called me 30 mins later again asking what I wanted. Idk if she didn't start till then or what? When I got him home I took a closer look and his face was trimmed and belly was shaved but that's it. My 1st experience was a lot better so I thought I'd try again but that was a bad idea. I worked there for 4 days and that was more than enough. Thankfully my personal business required me to leave or I would have had to leave anyway. The staff did not play with the dogs. Instead, they would watch and yell at the dogs constantly. I've taken my dogs to daycares before and they all have supported play. The point is to burn all the energy. Since the dogs don't have any stimulation to occupy themselves, many high energy dogs would become aggressive to others. These dog owners were notified their dog was not compatible with others, when in fact their dog was just bored. If you were to tour the facility, you will find two separate play areas, no toys or things for them to climb on. You'll also find a smaller outdoor enclosure, with a child's playhouse. Again, nothing for the dogs to play with. I also witnessed breed discrimination, labeling a pit as aggressive when he was only defending himself. Excellent place for puppy training, flyball classes or boarding. The prices have recently gone up a little but you get the comforting thought that when you leave your dog here overnight, they aren't stuck in a kennel all day. The play areas are sectioned off into two by size of dog but they also have a fenced in outdoor area for play and potty. Generally the staff is educated & certified as well as nice. read more

The dogs are not well supervised. The staff is rude. The facility is not clean. Our dog was bitten by another dog on a Friday and we were not notified until the following Monday when we asked if anything happened. This resulted in an ER vet visit costing over $300. This is the cheapest facility in town but the above reasons are why. It's not worth it! Upon taking our dog to another daycare, we found our dog was eating other dogs' feces. Never once we were notified of this by positive paws where he has spent every day Monday thru Saturday playing. What we did have was a sick dog with many GI issues and we didn't know why. Hundreds of dollars of vet bills and prescription dog food later. Plus a sick, sick puppy. We have become well educated in the pet daycare business in town. There are 3 or more on both sides of town that are FAR BETTER than Positive Paws. Under no circumstances will we ever take our pet there again. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE! We took our Lab here and thought she would be well taken care of for the one day that we were out of town. We were completely wrong! Upon picking her up we noticed that she had a couple small cuts on her cheek. We asked if she had been bitten and they assured us she had not. A couple days later the cuts did not get better but she developed a rash that had begun to spread on her face. We took her to the vet and they informed us that it was mostly caused by a bite from another dog and had gotten infected from a neglect to clean the facility properly. The worst part is that our beautiful1 year old Lab now has scars on her face. All from one night at positive paw, there are plenty of other boarding schools in the cedar rapids/hiawatha area that we have taken our puppy too and was well taken care of! read more

The staff is so great and my dogs LOVE going there. I know when we leave for vacations they are in great hands. We boarded our dogs there at Christmas for 2 days and both dogs came home very sick. Our springer spaniel was very aggressive after staying there. They charged for an extra full day because I was late picking them up. So far it has cost us over $300 for the 2 days of boarding. I will never take my dogs back there!
