Horrible place I sent my dog here once and I found a cut by his butt. That got infected and I had too spend a lot of money at the vet! There lucky I never pressed charges. Dont ever send your dog here. They did not even tell me they cut my dog !!!!! What kind of trash people work there cutting the dogs hair. I was so skeptical about choosing places for my dog, due to the fact I've read so many mixed reviews. But I'm so happy i chose this place, because everything was on point. My cocoa is 8months and I know she can be a handful at times but they really took great care of her. The receptionist were so nice, I told them what I wanted and they delivered. I just don't understand how they got her to be so calm, giving her a bath lol. I couldn't be any more happier, when I seen her walk out. I definitely would be back again!!! read more

I discovered them back when they were at their old location on Metropolitan and I was looking for a gentle groomer for my fussy cocker spaniel who especially hated baths and hair cuts. They've always done an amazing job, listened to my requests, and been patient with Spot. If you love your pet, do not go here! Took my dog here for a routine grooming, my dog came home and went right to sleep. A few hours later when she got up and started walking around the house, there was blood EVERYWHERE. I looked at her closer and she was missing a nail from her paw! Went back to the pet salon and everyone played dumb as if they didn't know what happened. They finally admitted to cutting a nail too short and hitting the vein but they "didn't know" what happened to the nail. Owner was EXTREMELY unprofessional. I had a right to flip out because my dog went in there with all her nails and came out missing one, but the owner cursed at me! We rushed my dog to the vet because she was bleeding uncontrollably from her finger. Brought the vet bill to the pet salon and after a week they decided they would pay. They also refunded the price of the grooming visit. They acted at first like it wasn't their fault, but if it truly wasn't their fault, how come they refunded the visit and paid the vet bill?? I let them know that my dog cannot speak to me and it would have been nice if they would have let us know what happened when we went to go pick her up. read more

I came here with my 3 pets for the first time. Everyone seemed nice and place seemed clean. After I got home I saw a big bruise on my pit's right eye. I've taken all my pets to groomers and never have I seen anything like this. My dogs are not vicious or mean but just like any pet they are afraid of certain things. I called the place the next day for an explanation and the replied "he was fine when he left here". Having to handle 3 dogs at the same time I didn't get a chance to check right away. Bruises take time to show up. Anyway I always give a place at least one chance and unfortunately I am saddened by what happen with him. This is my first and last time I will ever go there. If you love your pets don't go here. My pets are my kids and want the best for them. read more

Everytime our Ballak(named after german soccer great) goes here it's a wonderful experience. He always looks well groomed smells soooo clean gets mani pedi ears cleaned n etc...never a cut or a shakin dog but always happier when after his visit...Karen n staff are always friendly and professional...love the lil bandanas they put around his collar as well...he goes 3-4 times a year n never any problems in abt 2-3 years of their services.... the bad reviewers should step back n ask themselves maybe my dog isn't soooo well behaved n check them periodically for cuts n bruises before visits or just as a good dog parent.... will always recommend ppl n friends n family to this wonderful salon...kudos to the staff for making my lil man be a complete happy dog... Very disappointed with the manners the receptionist has. It's either the phone just rings or she is to quick to answer all your questions. I just find that simply rude. I have gone about 3 times and there's always an issue. At first I thought it was just me but, I proved myself wrong. I asked to leave the bottom of my dogs coat long. When I pick her up she's totally shaved and said that she was giving them a hard time so that had to shave her. I phone call would have been nice. Not that I walk in and become shocked. Today it finally got to me and I have decided to go out of my way and take my dog else where. I just wish I would have done it sooner. read more

I've been going to them for years while I lived in Woodhaven. I moved to Rockaway Beach and made the mistake of trying a local groomer and must say it was the biggest mistake I ever made. Pet Salon is worth the extra time it takes to drive Butter for her haircut. Reasonable price and when I pick her up she always comes out tail wagging and looking cute as ever either with festive Bows or a bandana. It took going to a different groomer to appreciate a job well done. So for whoever is reading don't waste your time going somewhere else and go with the best. read more

Friendly, caring staff. They do the grooming in the open rather than in a back room which I appreciate because, let's face it, you feel better being able to see what they're doing to the dog. They also sell a nice selection of pet products and pet clothing. They schedule the appointments well too. They've never had the dog for longer than an hour and a half. I gave specific instructions to my husband to NOT let them cut the hair of our Maltese, just trim around the eyes and anus and get a professional shampoo and blow dry. We shampoo him regularly and a Pantene rinse makes him silky. I didn't want his hair cut until summer and then it would be a "puppy cut". What a shock to see what they did! Shaved down to the skin. No artistry. Just a shave. This is a Maltese! He looks hideous. They do not listen. Every dog gets shaved down and thats it. I'll never return. read more

This place came recomended by a friend. They may do a gd job with her dog but i came in with my havanese and my brussels griffon and this was the worsy groomer ive been to so far. My partner had to go and get a razor to fix the damage done. We asked that both dogs be close shaven cuz their hair grows quickly. My brussels is uneven and long all over. The chopped up the havaneses paintbrush tail and the brussels nails are uneven jagged and sharp. A very very bad experience. Never again. read more

They are very affordable compare to other places that charges an arm and a leg especially if your pet is matted. The place is spotless clean and smells very good. this grooming salon stinks, when i took my dog there, first they would not let see the back where they were grooming and my dog was very frightened when i picked her up, i dont know what they did to her,but i will never go back there. our shi-ztu has been a client for the past 6 months since he was a pup, i have nothing but great things to say about this place, i love his hair cuts - they are always even and neat, he smells fantastic. i travel 40 minutes to get there because they are worth the trip, we have a local groomer 3 blocks away - tried them once because i couln'd get an appointment here but will wait next time...they are excellent with my pooch...he walks out happy, clean and very handsome. read more

I was really disappointed by this place. I had read and heard good reviews and was really looking forward to watching my dogs groomed out in the open. I gave very specific instructions which were completely disregarded (or misunderstood?) and when I came back (after basically being told to leave and come back when dogs were expected to be done) I witnessed my dog's groomer being, what I perceived as, way too rough with him. I asked her afterward if my dog had been behaving badly or something and she said "no, but he does tend to shake a bit." My dogs' hair looks like a butcher cut it. Really choppy without style and way too short (not sure how "don't shave him, but cut it short" could be understood to mean shave the hell out of him, exposing body parts that have never seen the light of day: entire toe nails, poor pink belly) . Both dogs seem very uncomfortable. I didn't get the names of the two women who cut my dogs' hair, but no matter; I will definitely not be returning. ~Shudder~ read more

I have been taking my mixed Maltese/Terrier for over 2years they are absolutely the best. I live in Bushwick and travel all the ways to Glendale by cab when my son can not drop Teddy groom by Kelly Lynn. Teddy comes out of there absolutely well groomed, cleaned.... spanking new and very jolly and the people here at The Pet Salon treat me with respect as well as Teddy. If they were to close-down Pet Salon I don't know where to take our Teddy. They give us advice as to which shampoo is fantastic for Teddy and how to keep Teddy well brushed. We are so happy with their services especially how they treat our Teddy. Inclusively today a woman that bumped into me this morning asked where I have my dog groomed. I referred her to The Pet Salon. The woman doesn't speak a spick of English but I know she will be well received. Poor dog has knots I called Pet Salon and they gave me a date and to open time for availability. I have two puppies, who I have been bringing there for a while, with no problem, or complains, but the last two visits, have been terrible, specially for my two year old bichon, last year they shaves the skin off her ears, and when I went to complain all got was a get AD ointment for her ear, i was very upset, n requested that the same person dont touch my dogs again. but never got an appology. I just recently, I took them again, (because so conveniently close to home), My Bichon came home, very sad, n shaking her head, I checked her to find out, she has puss coming out of her ear, and deep scratches. I have no choice but to bring her to the vet. an unnesesary expense. I will NEVER bring my dogs there again!!! and I will bring them my vetertinarian bill to be reimburse. and maybe bring this up to the BBC, I dont know what goes on back there, but it cant be good, my poor dogs is in a lot of pain. never mind that they both look terrible with the hair cuts they got, cause no one heard when I said short, not shaved!!
