The Pet Pad is total luxury for your pets! We took my sister-in-laws dog there for a Full Clip, which is a hydro bath, shampoo, blow dry and brush, cleaning the ears and trimming the nails. Lola (the dog) has been shedding fur like crazy all summer, so we also got her a de-moulting/de-shedding treatment. In total it cost $55 for all of this. The doggy spa is a big room out the back where all the dogs wait for their treatments, and then get spoilt rotten and pampered. Lola was a bit scared when we handed her leash to the girl, but when we returned an hour later, she was totally loving the staff and this place. There were lots of other dogs for her to play with too. The Pet Pad offers other services including Pawdicures (pedicure for the paws!), Pet Day Care (either a half or full day of toys, treats, games, soft beds, in-house movies and loads of snuggles, awwww), Dog walking, Pet sitting and even house calls! Our pampered pooch seems to have trips to the "parlour" more than I do, but hey I'm not a hater. He's half poodle and gets a bit scruffy looking. Plus the hair that I think is so adorable falling over his eyes must really be annoying for him. A Google search for "dog groomer brisbane" led me to many a website but none of them quite made me feel comfortable in my decision to let them groom my dog as The Pet Pad. Knowing the suburb it operates in, I knew there'd be no way the pooches of New Farm and surrounds would continue to visit here if they weren't good at what they do. I dropped him off yesterday for a "feet, face and tail" grooming session and after showing the staff member a photo of past grooming disasters to demonstrate what I didn't want, I knew, from her facial expression, we were on the same page. Less than an hour later I was on my way back to pick him up. The grooming a success. He still looked like a dog and not an old man with mutton chops. But like Sun E said in her review, the price is so very reasonable for the service. I would have expected I'd be parting with a lot more for the quality of grooming he received. There's a lot of pampered pooches in this area and, when I lived there, mine was one of them. The problem is that I don't love spending as much on my dogs hair as I do on mine - particularly as she needs a hair cut much more often than I do! I was pleasantly surprised at the prices here at Pet Pad. It is a spot of puppy pampering, but you don't pay massive prices. Under $60 will get your scruffy mutt looking like a princess again. As my dog is half Pomeranian that is a small price to pay as I know that giving her a hair cut means you're breathing hair all day and you'll never get what you're wearing hair free again, no matter how many times you wash it. read more

I was asked to come in for a job interview one morning at 10am. I arrived 20 minutes early which was fine, as i was expecting the boss, Emma, to be there at 10. I introduced myself to the girl at the register, where she was not aware that interviews were being held that day. I asked if there was anything I could do to help while waiting for Emma to arrive, I then was introduced to the girl in Doggy Daycare (Lets call her Cass) and helped her out while waiting for my interview. Off the bat, I was not impressed, the "doggy daycare" area was two large empty rooms separated by large industrial doors. there were no toys for the dogs to play with and only 1 kennel where an elder dog was sleeping. There were at least 30 dogs, with no toys, the dogs resorted to play fighting with one another and humping each other. (which resulted in 1 dog getting injured and bleeding from the foot). The ground was covered in filth and pee, the smell was putrid. I helped Cass mop up the pee spots on the ground and played with the dogs for a while. 10:30 comes and Emma, the boss, finally arrives. She comes into the doggy daycare area and talks with Cass, not acknowledging me once when I try to introduce myself to her. Emma seems busy and leaves and I ask Cass if she knows what is going on, she had no idea. not long later I see another girl come in for a job interview and Emma sees her right away. By this point I am annoyed as I had been there for an hour mopping up dog pee and having dogs jump up on me. (which is fine, it it expected, but not so great when you got dressed for an interview only to have dog slobber and dirt all over you). after another hour I am fed up and ask a woman in another section what is going on, she apologises for the chaos and how disorganised the whole situation is, Emma hadn't told the staff she was interviewing on this day and had basically told us all to come in at the same time. I FINALLY get to meet Emma and have my interview, and holy shit, it was the WORST interview experience I have ever had. She was so unprofessional and distracted, she brought a puppy with us into our interview (in the staff "kitchen"), the puppy pood on the floor so Emma stops our interview to call one of the staff members to bring up poop bags and her coffee..... I finally made it out of there alive, a little over 12pm. 2 hours after my interview was supposed to take place. I wish Emma's unprofessionalism was the worst of it, but honestly, the place was disgusting and covered in filth. the dogs had no toys, Cass told me that there were usually 40 dogs there at once to 1 staff member . The grooming salon floor was covered with dog fur, the dogs were not secured once being washed, dried or groomed in a kennel, they were just left to run around in the grooming salon. I very much hope you don't make the mistake of applying for a job her or taking your pet here. read more

We recently decided that our pup needed more socialisation, especially as he is often at home by himself whilst we are away all day at work or uni. As a result, we decided to try out doggy daycare at The Pet Pad, as the location was very convenient and I had read some good reviews. Initial impressions were good, as the place was clean, staff seemed friendly, plenty of treats/food/toys were available, and I was able to view all areas where our pup would be during daycare. That said, after our first appointment there, we decided to try elsewhere. Our reasoning for this included: We didn't feel that the staff were knowledgeable/professional enough, and the service was more about watching the dogs during the day rather than providing them with a schedule. In particular, what they were offering didn't meet our own individual needs. read more

I love the Pet Pad! I always get my dog groomed there and they are always so helpful. Much like other dog owners, my dog is like my family so I can be anxious about leaving him somewhere new however I work alot and can't always organize to pick up my dog when hes been groomed so I opted to leave him for the doggy day care. It was really reassuring when I dropped him off to see so many other dogs coming into the daycare excited and ready to ditch their owners as soon as they arrived. Ontop of that, I decided to shave my pomeranian, something I have never done, the groomer herself called me and discussed what I would like and then even sent me photos of different styles. What other dog groomer would go to such great length to assure you are this happy? When I picked up my dog, he was so cute even without his big fluffy coat. We had our dog Lily groomed at Pet Pad today. Upon collecting Lily, my wife was advised that the price was $10.00 more then originally quoted. when she asked why she was advised the our dog 'Wriggled' a lot during the process and as a result took longer, hence the charge. We have been having our dog groomed at Pet Pad for a long time, Lily is 14 years old and despite the fact that we have had to put up with difference styles every time we collected Lily we continued to return. Today finished this off for us, we will be seeking alternate Dog Groomers simply due to the fact that this is totally unacceptable for the following reasons: 1. The assistant manager did not advise us of the extra charge until we identified it. Then the rubbish about wriggling came up - our dog is tiny and 14 years old and she may have wriggled but surely this can be managed by a professional groomer? 2. If their were issues with 'wriggling' it had not be bought to our attention over the past 5 years. 3. The Environment at Pet Pad is overcrowded and due to the volume of dogs the noise and environment could be the cause of the problem. Today, their were high numbers of both day care and grooming dogs might cause stress to some animals. 4. The service and communication we received from the assistant manager was poor. 5.
