Wow, this store has everything you could want/think of for your pet plus a bit more. My partner took me here for the first time to day and I can say I differently will be heading back there again. An amazing store. read more

One Stop Pet Shop

I can't resist going into a pet shop to gaze at all the adorable little puppies, so I was panic…read moremomentarily gripped me when I went inside this one and couldn't find any. Have you ever been into a pet shop that didn't have puppies? Or at least kittens? It's like an ice cream shop with no chocolate, or a sushi place with no salmon. Luckily I soon located them and realised they had simply been hidden behind the Christmassy white spray all over the front windows. This isn't a very big pet shop, but it's adequate. They have a limited range of animals including guinea pigs and fish along with the requisite puppies, pet food and of course accessories. It's not the most exciting of its genre, but it gets the job done.
This is a nice little pet shop located within a very busy shopping mall. It's not very big but it…read morehas plenty to offer. The times I have been here I've seen puppies, little kittens, guinea pigs and an array of beautiful fish. The puppies, kittens and guinea pigs are located towards the front of the shop and the fishies are towards the back wall. The little pups are the front window cannot be seen by passer by's unless you walk into the store. I think this is a good idea as it might be stressful for the little guys to see lots of people coming up to them. However, having a front view of a paper plastered window does not make this store look appealing. They should consider replacing that. All in all though, the pups don't seem to be bothered and look happy and healthy. One thing I noticed here that I didn't approve of, was all the little children poking the pets and the shop minder didn't seem phased by it at all. I know parents have a responsibility over their children, but I should hope the pet shop staff would protect the pets from children who are stressing them out. Still, despite this, it is a nice little pet store with quite a lot on offer. Good range in toys and pet accessories.
Puppy Palace

This pet shop is oddly placed on the mostly industrial Pickering St, however they're not kidding…read morewhen they claim to have everything dog. They have an extensive range of beds, bowls, leashes (big range of Puppia harnesses), medication, toys, treats, grooming aides - pretty much everything you'd need. The prices seem pretty reasonable too. Up the back are the puppies. They were pretty vocal when I was there, but the cages looked large and clean and nothing smelled bad. What I really liked was how the puppies were behind a gate, with big signs asking you to get a sales assistant if you wanted to look. All the cages had signs warning not to touch as the puppies aren't fully vaccinated yet. I know that your average pet shop wouldn't take that much care with a puppy's health so I took that as a good sign. They also do grooming, I have my dog booked in for the works package - she's about 8 kg's and they're charging me $55 for hydrobath, clip, toenails and ears. With optional bow (I said no, my dog is a Pomeranian cross and already looks girly enough).
My little Jack Russell Domino was from here! I remember when we first drove by, we went in, and…read morewere really surprised at the amount of puppies they had in the back room. You can't pet them unless you're serious about buying one, and you have to spray your hands with sanitiser before they let you near a pup. We weren't even in the market for a puppy. The second time we came here, we bought one. How silly of us, but do we regret it? 6 years later, he is the best puppy we have ever gotten. The only one we have ever bought together actually. They don't get their dogs from puppy farms here, but from breeders from Melbourne and Sydney. The puppies are flown in, dates are on their websites as to which breeds are expected when, and they are super strict about disease control, vaccination and worming. Chipping as well if you want that too prior to picking your pup up. This little centre is pretty surprisingly popular, most popular breeds like your labradoodle and pug go pretty quickly as soon as they arrive (pre-order your pups apparently) and you can trust that you will get papers and a good legit non-puppy farmed dog from here, unlike other places. To top it off, they have cat, bird and other pet supplies too, a great range of leads, collars and toys for your best friend. Really love this place!
Puppyworld

Aside from the noise of numerous yapping puppies, this place has to be a version of heaven. When…read moreyou enter the giant warehouse you are greeted by rows of enclosures full of curious, adorable puppies. There are so many breeds here, most of which are mixes that have been carefully chosen to result in even cuter (and cheaper) versions. I got my dog there, oh so many years ago now, and after the RSPCA it's the best place to go to get a puppy. One of the best things about getting your dog from here is that the place has an in-house vet who can give you expert advice as to which breed/s best suit your lifestyle and family situation. My dog was an American Staffy Ridgeback cross. I recall that my parents were very hesitant as to whether that was a suitable breed, but he assured us that Staffys are actually amazing as family pets and backed his claim up with some books.
I have had friends who have recommended Puppyworld, and others that have told me they get their…read morepuppies from puppy farm, because they always seem to have a supply whilst other legit places have wait times to order puppies from breeders interstate... with the whole gestational stage thing. Maybe they are just really good at ordering and getting their orders on time. Very efficient. Again, just a rumour. Puppy farm pups aside, this place is pretty good. There are a large range of puppies from your Cavoodle mixes to your Bichoodle's and Labradoodles, mixed mutts are the in thing these days apparently! You'll pay about $500-$800 or more here for a puppy but they do come flea treated, usually microchipped, vet checked and vaccinated to the appropriate age. These puppies are all so cute, the people who work there are really friendly, so definetely check it out if you're in the market for a doggy woggy.
Puppy Pad

I purchased my beautiful little puppy from Puppy Pad in November 2017 (signed a contract and paid…read more$1700 for him). He was advertised as a toy poodle x miniature schnauzer (his picture and ad is still on their Facebook Page). My dog is now 9 months old, weighing 14kgs and with a height of 450mm to the shoulders. Concerned that my puppy keeps getting larger and larger, I contacted the owner (male) of Puppy Pad at Loganholme and suggested that my puppy was much larger than I would have expected a toy poodle x miniature schnauzer to be. The owner of this business responded with: "was I able to guarantee what my children would look like?" (assuming he meant my human children) and " there is no guarantee when buying livestock". The owner was extremely rude throughout his telephone conversation and then continued to hang up. I would like to make it clear that I was not seeking any financial compensation for my puppy as we love him and he is part of our family now. My concern is the owner was rude and would not acknowledge my query. Also, if I was purchasing what I understood to be a toy poodle x miniature schnauzer from Puppy Pad at Loganholme for an elderly person, they would not be able to manage or be able to care for a similar puppy once it is fully grown. I am incredibly disappointed in this business false advertising their puppies and not taking any responsibility for their error.

They also have a huge range of fish with a quarter of the store inhabited by fish tanks full of the goggly eyed creatures. One day a week (I believe it's Sundays) they also have a dog hydrobath out the back. For around $10 they will wash your pooch for you. I know my dog enjoys bathing about as much as I enjoy an eyebrow wax, so it can be nice to force someone else to do it and forgo the resentment.
