Since the workouts at The Camp are with a group of people, it makes us feel accountable and motivated to go each day. Being a part of The Camp, you are led each day by trainers/coaches that teach you the proper movements, breaks down the areas that are being targeted and encourages you, regardless of your ability. Each day you work a different part of your body, including legs, arms, cardo and full body. Walking into the space each day can be intimidating when you see all of the equipment spread across the floors, but you are shown how to do each exercise before jumping into the workout. Problem is that as you get stronger, the coaches get sneaky and drop heavier weights in front of you. :o) Not only the workouts, but they offer challenges. My husband and I are on our second challenge to loose the weight that we have gained over the years. They give you a diet plan, offer supplements and of course the workouts. You are weighed every Monday and have to "Check In" through social media to help keep you accountable. As long as you follow the program it truly does work. My yo-yo dieting has stopped and I make better choices now. Both of us feel great and I still can't get over the transformation that my body has made in just the 5 months that we have been members. I was always active in sports and liked to do physical things, but I have never had muscles like I do now. Our first day there, we were welcomed by so many nice people and we have a great group that we now workout with every morning, 6 days a week. They help to make the workout fun and we all encourage each other. I really do not feel like I would have met this many people at a gym or have so many people encouraging me. We have made some great friendships through this place. I no longer look at this as getting up early and exercising, I see this now as a lifestyle and I love our new lifestyle thanks to all of the Staff at The Camp Transformation Center in Modesto.

I traveled 400 miles to Tracy from Corona & I was desperate looking for a new gym that can accommodate me. & I was so excited coming here even though it was a 35 min drive. The staff wasn't even paying attn to what I said over the phone when I called and she had me repeat myself. Even after explaining that I used to work for the camp. I wasn't paying for it but my previous rate was $107 she immediately said yeah we can only honor it if you're a teacher, veteran, etc. I said no I used to have that rate without it. I've been a part of the camp for a while & even then she didn't care. She even started to argue with me that it was a hard no, they called the camp that I was at to go over my agreement I emailed them and she said I was paying $107 because I worked there I said. You have it all wrong because I wasn't paying anything when I worked there. At this point I said to myself I definitely don't want to come back to this place. Fast fwd I found another The camp on the opposite side of town that honored my rate and even welcomed me to town. The customer service here overall was crap.

I tried it out for two weeks to get a feel if it was a right fit for me. PROs- -they offer various times to take a class, even two classes on Saturday - was able to pay half the cost of one month since I arrived in the middle of the month -they keep up to date on insta posts CONs- -warm up is the same every day. Coach doesn't ensure you're doing them or even doing them correctly. This could get boring with time. -one time I was running a few minutes behind (having a toddler can cause that to happen!) Saw the coach was upset and kind of made the comment of how I needed to just jump with the last girls to do the warm ups they were doing. Later some members confirmed that tardiness is her pet peeve. - throughout the WOD, I was left sort of alone. Thanks to some cool members who said I could share equipment with them and helped me through it all. Two of them mentioned how they noticed I was alone in the first workouts and coach wasn't there to walk me through or help. They unfortunately got committed to a 6 month contract so they couldn't opt out. They weren't told they could do it month to month. - I noticed some members were lifting too much and had poor form, which is dangerous. But who was I to say, hey, It's nice you want to lift a lot but form is better than pounds. - no stretching/mobility was done afterwards as a group or even mentioned to do it individually. - box seemed overcrowded, dusty and cluttering. Got my allergies really bad the first day! They do have a dog as an FYI. This is my personal review and I always use YELP to find the best spots so I write this review to give you some insights. However, I highly encourage you to call and visit and see for yourself. Everyone can have a different perception and experience.
