But when I come to Shine, it's about me. I do this for me. The kind smiles and heartfelt greetings are always so welcoming. Sarah's optimism and genuinely charming personality stand out. Her Mat Pilates class challenges me both physically and mentally--her voice has this power that pushes me to just try, and somehow, I always surprise myself. I decided to visit Park West Pilates, a private studio owned and taught by master instructor Nancy Tenoglio --and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I arrived, Nancy created a welcoming and professional environment. Even though it was my first class with her, she took the time to learn about my background and experience, offering personalized guidance and thoughtful adjustments throughout the session. Every movement was explained with precision and purpose, and Nancy had an incredible eye for detail--gently refining my form to help me move more efficiently and with better alignment. Her class was challenging but balanced. I loved it! I left feeling taller, stronger, and more connected to my body. I'm 50 classes in and it's been a little over 2 months. I can't say enough, the teachers who lead the workouts all have a unique style and I have not had one who I don't love!! Point is. I'm sore. I'm happy. I'm going. Also, the music. I meannnn I'm picky and sometimes in group classes will get annoyed if the playlist is off, but I LOVE the music here. I'm at about 9 years now and just reached my 1,000 class this month. I feel like it says a lot to be able to stay at a fitness place for this long and still love it. One thing I will say is that since my last review I did have major surgery and had to pause my workouts, but during recovery, I noticed how much going to barre had helped me. Having no upper body movement would've been tougher if it wasn't for my strength I gained from The Bar Method.

where do i start?? i…read morestarted taking classes august 2023 when i was about 6 months postpartum. after giving birth, my body went through a lot. had to go on blood pressure medication, limbs felt like jello, struggled walking up the stairs... all while also taking care of a new baby my main fitness goal was to just be healthier and strong enough to grow with my daughter. after 3 years of taking classes at least 3-4x a week, i'm not just off the medication (woohoo ) but my body is the most TONED and FLEXIBLE it's ever been! lol and the community here is EVERYTHING this is such a safe, welcoming place with people of all ages and bodies of all sizes. so many modification options! and the instructors are so well educated and trained, even in the way they learn everyone's names! lol barre is such a great full body workout & bar method fremont is the best place to do it! ‍
