I have been going to this place for 10 years on a twice per week basis. It offers resistance training that is good for anyone - those that are elderly, recuperating, or just people that are concerned about their health. In a 20 minute period you get an individualized workout on various parts of the body and you don't need to waste time changing clothes or breaking a sweat. Each exercise is done to muscle failure on a targeted muscle which usually takes less than two minutes to attain. You always have a trainer that is adjusting each machine for you and monitoring your positioning. Yes, it is expensive, but you are probably worth the investment. I have had various injuries from equestrian accidents and they have always been able to adjust the workout to compensate. read more

I've been coming here for a few months now and am glad that I gave this place a try. My goals are to improve strength and gain muscle injury free. You do about 6-7 exercises per visit with the intention of performing 90-120 seconds worth of reps per exercise. By the time you hit that 90-120 second mark you are experiencing muscle fatigue (the muscles are burning/shaking) to achieve the maximum benefit. Christian was my trainer and he is fantastic. Very encouraging (you've got this, you're strong, etc), great cuing (only 2 more reps, next rep you'll hold for 3 seconds, etc) and really listens to what's going on with you/your body (as it's hard to be 100% or fully rested each visit). The office is clean and orderly. This is another deceptively larger building then it looks from the outside. There are 4-5 separate rooms with different equipment so it's not one big setting where different sets of customer/trainers are crammed together. I've been coming here since March and have had a great experience with the super slow method. The trainers are excellent, friendly and very committed to helping me achieve my fitness goals. In particular, I've enjoyed working with Maricel and Alejandro. The facility is clean and air-conditioned and the location is easy to access even though I live and work near downtown San Jose. The only advice is to not to park or drive too close to the storage containers in the back parking lot because I got two flat tires when I first started coming to workout (maybe due to driving over some nails or maybe due to something else). read more

I have been coming to Perfect Workout for a few years. I wanted so much to exercise more and being a woman over 50, I knew resistance training was important. I had tried conventional gyms and tried to get a personal trainer. The gyms were too busy and the trainers were all over-priced bros who knew nothing about what a middle aged woman needed. After reading the reviews for Perfect Workout, I knew this would be a better place for me. The studio is very close to my house and the workouts are only 20 minutes. The trainers are knowledgeable, easygoing and encouraging. Not "rah-rah" encouraging, but always nudging and coaching. They all have access to your workout data, so even if you have to reschedule (which is pretty easy to do) and get a different trainer, you don't miss a beat. My mildly arthritic knees and lower back are much improved. I'll never compete with Michelle Obama, but my upper body looks pretty darn good! I feel more sturdy, less likely to injure myself. Quick efficient way to get a good workout. Environment is no frills but one can get an effective workout.

The Perfect Workout is life changing. It was recommended to me by a patient I respect very much & happens to be in great shape in their late 60's, so I had to find out what they were doing to maintain their healthy lifestyle. The Perfect Workout concept is slow paced with heavy weights, muscle failure quickly which makes the workout effective in just 20min! I practice heated vinyasa yoga regularly along with Peloton cycling so this compliments those workouts really nice for me. I have noticed improvements with my cycling abilities & full body strength in my yoga. I cannot emphasize enough how empowering this is lifting heavy weights & on top of that having a coach by your side guiding you to that next level. Gary, my current coach, has been a joy to work with. He motivates me, keeps me on pace, respects my time, and is always positive. The care he puts into each workout is consistent and so appreciated. The gym is kept cool, no waiting for equipment, no one other than your coach watching your alignment and guiding/motivating you. As a full time Dental Hygienist, my body is constantly hunched over, I truly believe this workout is strengthening my core and supporting the alignment of my spine; I have been experiencing less neck and back pain since workout out with Perfect Workout. Grateful. Lastly, the length of time of the workout has really helped me reach my fitness goals efficiently. Only have so much time, so this system makes it count. The membership is costly, but I believe there's value especially in the guidance Gary and the team provides to keep you safe and strong for the long run in life. As for the cost, if you have a HSA/FSA account this could be a great route to pay for it. They also have a way to support you with the process of figuring out how to qualify for HSA/FSA to cover the costs. I highly recommend The Perfect Workout. I went to try out the program with a free intro session. Afterwards I received a text asking for feedback. I did not wish to write my feedback because I thought speaking to the staff was better for what i had to say and I did not wish to be interpreted as being anything except a person giving honest feedback with no other intention.This meeting was not just to show me the program, but also to get to know my needs, concerns and limits. When I called, I spoke with the supervisor because the manager was not available. When speaking to her, I was clear that I felt that my boundaries and requests were not respected. I had a knee surgery last year and have a disc problem so I stated this and expressed that I know my limits and expect that my boundaries are respected. This was the conversation: Trainers are there to motivate, I get it. I am not a baby and not a whiner, but I stopped after a few reps and said that I was feeling discomfort and needed to lighten the resistance. I expected that I was heard and that the trainer would make the proper adjustments however, besides adjusting the seat, I was met with the response that I was almost done and there were only a few more reps to complete. I walked in feeling great as I had just been to PT yesterday and I left with my back feeling tweaked. The response that I received did not set well with me. I hung up feeling that I had annoyed and taken up her time. The minimum expectation of the conversation was a thank you and appreciate the feedback. When she said to " Ok yeah I heard you" or something to that effect, I decided to write this review. For the price they charge for the amount of time they spend with clients, I expect they'd go a little more above and beyond. read more

Probably one of the best trainers I've ever been with. Very down to earth, nice guy. A tad bit too expensive for me, but it was one of the best quality workouts I've experienced. Try the Perfect Workout to get your muscles worked out to nearly the max in a slow motion routine. Located within a nondescript building punctuated with a bright red door, is a pleasant plethora of new machines, trainers, and clients. I've been doing this monthly for many months now and have been able to steadily increase weights, feel more fit & sleep better. For those interested in losing weight, proper diet should be included. I also complement this training with cardio at home. A variety of terms are available. All of the trainers seem well trained. I was coached by 2 trainers named Sean. Sean D. of the day - Pushes a lot without overdoing it. Adds new machines and exercises. Recommend his steady approach, easy going nature, pleasant personality. Sean S. of the night - same as above. This training isn't for everyone, but it is great for those who want a maximum workout which is gentle on the joints, but good for muscles and bones, and takes a short period of time. read more

This is a great workout in a short amount of time. This is a muscle fatigue type of workout. Samantha is absolutely wonderful! She is very excellent in what she does. She is awesome! I love going to The Perfect Workout because I get a full body workout in about 20 minutes. They use the slow strength method, which is a much safer way to build muscle.
