I've been working out twice a week at The Perfect Workout in Long Beach for 7 months now. I was skeptical at first, but now I can see and feel the amazing results. Good customer service. Small space. Equipment is placed in a couple rooms and a small area behind the check in desk. Today was my first workout here. It's exactly what I imagined it to be. It's like having a personal trainer with the slow mindfulness of pilates on Nautilus equipment. If you have the budget, I say go for it. You'll pay a hefty $5940 to go two times a week for 12 months. Or you can choose to pay $3270 for 6 months or their starter package which is $1785 for 3 months. They'll give you a free week of training if you pay in full. As for me, the location and parking is inconvenient, so I'll pass. read more

I have been attending twice weekly "strength training" at "The Perfect Workout" in Long Beach -- twenty minute individualized sessions each time. I've worked with 3 different trainers over the months; however, Ray Dumaua has been my primary trainer. He pushes me just enough to keep me motivated, has a great sense of humor, and is a quality guy. I'm 72-years-old, so I'm not a kid. I would consider myself to be an "elderly" overweight woman who needs more movement in her life, and that's exactly what I'm getting. For the first visit, the facility was difficult to find (off Spring, between Redondo and Cherry (south of LBX), but once I found it, the training has been beneficial. Another important thing is the facility is kept neat and clean -- very important!! I would highly recommend sessions. read more

I started training at the Perfect Workout in Long Beach, about 9 years ago. I was looking for strength training, and this place was perfect. I work out twice a week for 20 min. within a few months I felt stronger and had more confidence, during this time I've worked with several trainers and currently my trainer is Ray Dumaua, he's a great trainer, he make sure while training my form is correct and he always know when I can do more. I've also recently trained with Kendall Herd and Jocelynn Espinoza, all the trainers at the Long Beach studio are professional and knowledgeable, the studio is always clean which is greatly appreciated. I feel if your looking for results and have 20 min twice a week this studio is for you, just remember what you put into a workout is what you get out of it. I have been at the Long Beach location two months and recommend this form of workout highly for people who aren't looking for a social interaction but just want to tone up and be on their way. You can look up the specifics but it is an intense but short duration workout rather than long-duration repetition. Essentially all work out is on Nautilus equipment rather than free weights although they are available. They are extremely accommodating for changing schedules, vacations, Etc and credit you for any lost work out with an additional time later. I work with Rob and Bob since I chose days one of them doesn't cover. They provide great encouragement and help keep you from slacking off toward the end of each exercise. My goal was increased strength and reduced stomach and I am making steady progress. This helps slow down the expected stiffness with age as I am having to accept passing the 70 mark. They commented I am lifting 200 more pounds leg lift than when I started. I believe they offer a free session to experience this so you can't go wrong and I recommend it highly. read more

Hands down, this is the BEST health-related decision I have made in the last 2 decades. Although last year I sensibly lost nearly 30 lbs on my own by good food choices, there was no increase in strength and only negligible difference in appearance. Now, after just 3 months of weekly sessions with Rob at the Perfect Workout, I have lost inches and gone down in both dress and slack sizes. I'm so impressed with the design and efficiency of the workout. Previously I spent hours in a gym walking or cycling, but always felt there was little to show for the effort. I've been working out at the Long Beach location of this gym, and love it. The concept is unique in that the workouts take only 20 minutes, but trust me, you'll walk out on wobbly legs, feeling like you've been pushed to the absolute limit. I know that I am working out harder than I ever have before, thanks to being the sole focus of a trainer who knows what I am capable of, and how to get better results. My usual trainer is the ever-inspirational Adrianna, who constantly watches my form and reminds me to not fall into the bad habits that I tend to -- so I am getting stronger without ever hurting myself. (At least not while I'm at the gym: I do plenty of that while on my own doing other things. :-O) I've also on occasion worked out with the other trainers at this facility, and they are ALL equally qualified, positive and motivating. One of them really "walks the walk," as a person who used to weigh almost 300 lbs. I won't say who, because you would never guess it from the lean, fit role models they each are now. The facility is a small and clean series of a few rooms, with Nautilus equipment in each. The trainers try to limit clients to only one at a time per room when they can, making it the absolute opposite experience to working out at a big box gym chain (and I'm grateful for that!) There is also no loud music blasting; you hear only the encouraging words of your trainer. They offer a first-time free session to test out their unique concept of doing really s-l-o-w repetitions with heavy weights. Anyone can call and schedule a free appmt. That's what got me wanting more. It's amazing how shaky you feel after just a few reps, but also how quickly you progress to heavier weights. I posted a review previously but do not see it here. So here goes. I started In July or August. My trainer is Bob and sometime Rob will cover. They are both really, really great. So friendly, happy, smiley and both have big personality. It unlike any other gyms, its very private. Its not intimidating at all. I started because my legs were getting very weak. Parking at the costco parking lot and walking to the store was sometimes tiring on my legs. After about 7 weeks, I noticed my legs were getting stronger and so are my arms. The week of Thanksgiving, I started cooking at 7:30 and went to do some grocery shopping, standing and cooking until 8:00 and my legs were not tired at all. I'm walking faster now, so if people are too slow, I might run them over ;o). This should speak volume of how much the strength training has helped me. I would strongly recommend The Perfect Workout, especially for older people. I've heard women saying saying how hard it is to bend down and get up. I think they think since this is a normal progression, its acceptable. Not true, You must keep strong by doing muscle strengthening. I'm so glad I found The Perfect Workout. Hi, I've been attending Long Beach Perfect Workout on Spring St. since December of 2016. I absolutely love not only the workouts, but my favorite coach, Adrianna Jones. I never feel like just a number here or just another project. My coach is enthusiastic, super encouraging, and very caring. I am down 14 inches and 8 Lbs of sheer fat I no longer have to lug around. I've struggled with weight issues most of my life (I am 69 years old) and this has been working for me. In spite of several medically related "interruptions" when I could only work some body parts for a few months, I am doing very well indeed. I believe I will reach every goal I've set. I have now then going to The Perfect Workout for close to 6 months only being able to go once a week, I have seen a big change and my strength, and my knee is free from hurting and my shoulder was bugging me for a while and now that that pain is gone. And I feel it is due to the machines and my workout. Plus it does help stress. I needed something I could do that was not super intense but very doable and I love the fact that I am done within 20 minutes to half hour. Leave me the 20 minutes slow is a good strenuous workout believe it or not and you have less chance of hurting yourself. Adriana is my trainer she such a great person, and gives me the perfect routine for me, I would recommend it to anybody with any type of body issues or strength issues, anything. I want to be able to stay with this workout for the rest of my life. Give The Perfect Workout a try, you'll be shocked and hooked, you can add it with other things you do already, and it's just a great way to strength train and get that muscle mass and build your bones etc.... The Perfect Workout is just what my body needed. It's intense exercise for about 20 minutes, but I can do it once a week and see and feel results. My muscles have firmed up, and I feel much stronger. I have some joint pain, but Adrianna, my trainer, doesn't let me do anything that causes me discomfort. I'm strengthening the muscles around those joints instead. Plus she's a great cheerleader!
