She put me immediately at ease with her warmth and friendliness. I recently went to the Peel Parlour and the vibe before you even walk in is just so welcoming and peaceful. Jenni, the owner, is so incredibly knowledgeable of all things skin, skin care, etc. I had the pleasure of getting a firm tightening mask done by her lovely employee, Emme. She explained the process of the things we would be doing during my time there and made sure I was comfortable throughout every step. Emme also gave me a hand exfoliating treatment which left my hands feeling so soft and my skin looked rejuvenated! To top it all off, she gave me a head massage and I was so relaxed, I think I fell asleep for a minute. The bed was perfectly heated which was very soothing and the calming music being played was another nice touch for extra relaxation, not to mention the warm towels! For my birthday I decided to treat myself to my first facial! After doing a little research around Poway, this woman owned small business called to me. Their clear affirmation of it being a safe and affirming space for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ people was already a wonderful sign before I even got there. I did an hour long custom facial since I didn't really have anything in particular I was focused on and really enjoyed the mix of face, neck and should massage through out. I've had a more facials than I can count in my lifetime. The extraordinary ones are few, but my skin is problematic and maintenance is essential. I recently came to The Peel Parlour for the first time and was completely blown away. The location had easy parking, was easy to find, and the suite had a welcoming vibe. I was greeted by Jennifer and we were chatting like old friends in no time. She knew what questions to ask about my skin and I could tell she is definitely knowledgeable on the subject. She alone gets 5 full stars as a person! To say she's great is an understatement. Now for the good, the facial. My skin normally hates everything and is very congested. This usually means not feeling the lost comfortable for facials as well as painful extractions. I was somehow at peace the whole time, and her extraction technique was virtually painless (except for the nose but let's be real...that's never the fun part). I could have laid there for hours, I was so relaxed. Throughout the treatment I learned a plethora of things regarding my skin and skincare. She also took the time to show me how to use the products she sent me home with. Any questions I had (and there were tons) were answered. The real impressive part came after when I hopped in the car. I looked in the mirror and didn't see a big blotchy mess. My skin looked amazing!! How?? Not entirely sure, but it feels like magic; though it's probably talent. My skin is currently still glowy and soft. My skin looks brand spanking new, and I think I found my new esthetician! I cannot WAIT to go back.
