Took my puppy to get her first cut at an undisclosed location and they refused her because of the matting on her legs. Fast forward to me reaching out to The Paw Shop, and let me tell you from the great customer service I received over the phone to the perfect hair cut despite my baby being terribly matted. The first 3 times I visited and was highly satisfied I was able to walk in and receive a groom for my maltipoo. Having done this a few times before I assumed that walk ins were okay as it had never been stated otherwise. However this past Wednesday I dropped my dog off as usual and then went to run errands. An hour later I receive a call saying we can't find your appointment. I stated that I did not have one and I walked in as I always have. The employee then tells me that's impossible because they only take appointments. This was news to me and I stated that I have never made an appointment before and was this a new policy? she said it has always been that way. I say okay and return to get my dog. As I walked in I looked around to see if I missed a sign perhaps that said appointment only I even checked online because it's possible that I made the mistake. But I failed to see an appointment only sign anywhere. I expressed this to the clerk who had an accusatory tone and said that's how it's always been. But I don't understand why I wasn't told this before. I asked to speak to a manager but another girl who was grooming a cat said she has many appointments today and many cats today so she couldn't take my dog. It just seemed unprofessional and I was very disappointed in the way the situation was handled. This situation turned out for the better Thankfully I found another location Topknot with more reasonable prices and a more professional disposition. I won't be back and it's unfortunate because I did like this place but this was unprofessional. I would understand if they told me straight and said we don't have time today but to lie and say they don't accept walk ins when I have done so 3 times before is outrageous. read more

I took my two goldendoodles here as someone from the vet recommended The Paw Shop. We are new to the area so finding a groomer can be extremely difficult. They both turned out great and received the Florida cuts they needed. I made sure to tell them not to poodle my doodle and they were great about still keeping their faces a little longer. I would definitely recommend and will most likely be back for their next cuts. I was a little disappointed on the time it took to be completed. I dropped them off a little before our appointment time at 11am and the girl said that there were a few other dogs in front of them but that they would get to them when they could. I thought this was strange since I set up an appointment and they knew they were coming in. They messaged around 2pm to let me know they were just now about to start their preshave and they were completed at 6:30. So 7.5 hours or so. I understand they are doodles and take a little longer to dry but they were also crossing their legs when I picked them up. It also smells very strongly of pee when you walk in. read more

This reviews is strictly on boarding. Do NOT take yours dogs here! Seriously! You would be better off just leaving your dogs at home with no supervision. We boarded our dogs for two and half days. When we arrived to pick them up, they weren't out In the common area happily playing with other dogs. Instead the lady said they were in the back "eating lunch". I told her it was fine and that we would just take them....While we waited I noticed that only the groomed dogs were in the common area. A new lady brought out one of our dogs and as soon as my dog saw me she started pulling the lady and scraping the floor like she couldn't get away fast enough. The lady tried spraying her with some perfume and then gave her to me. The new lady then told us my other dog had just peed in the crate and they were wiping his feet....BUT I thought they were just eating lunch?!? My other dog finally comes out and is like a bat out of hell! We get them outside and they both pee for like 3 Minutes. YET she just said that he just peed the crate? Which my dogs can hold it for a very long time, up to 8 hours. Then I notice my one dog that came out second wreaks of urine and his eye is caked with mucous. I started crying at this point. WTH happened in there?!? I wiped his eye with tissues in my car and got the hell of out there. I have included a picture of him on the way home after I already wiped his eye but some of it was so crusted I couldn't get it off. When I got home I first gave them baths and then they each drank two full bowls of water. My poor babies are now having diarrhea. I don't know about you but this is not how I want my dogs to be treated when they are boarded. Locked in a crate in their own feces. Not even enough care to wipe his eye. I will never be back and I suggest you never put your animal in the same position! read more

I tried the paw shop for boarding and grooming. Let me start with the good. The customer service is wonderful, they are very friendly and do an excellent job with grooming. I would give them five stars there. However, I boarded my dog there one time and when I picked him up he was hoarse and very sick. He was vomiting and clearly no one noticed or called me, I called them to find out how long he had been sick and no one even returned my call for over 24 hours. That was no bueno. The owner called the next day and left a message. So I can't give them a high rating as my dog was sick for two more days, but I would take him back there for grooming and actually even recommended them to someone else for grooming. However NEVER EVER EVER board your dog there would be my recommendation. Their location is in the Publix shopping center across from LA Fitness on Clarke Road. It is clean but one visit smelled very doggy too...could just have been one dog they were boarding but maybe add some candles or air fresheners. Again, I will recommend them for grooming as their prices are reasonable too but absolutely not for the boarding I am sad to say. read more

I asked for an overall trim and was not told that cats only get shaved. I was told a "full trim" which sounded like a little length off everywhere. I said no lion cut and was left with uneven lion cuts. There were dogs just roaming the store which is not safe and a huge stressor for cats when the dogs are not being monitored. Dogs were able to approach my cats carriers without being monitored and were barking and growling at them. This is also a huge safety hazard to have about 8 dogs roaming with out being supervised. The place was not clean and when I said I was unhappy with the trim the groomers were not apologetic and made it seem like my fault for not knowing. This place needs to be more clear when saying a trim vs. a shave! read more

I got referred to the paw shop after calling Woof Orlando last minute to see if I could board my 5 1/2 month old husky puppy for the weekend. Lashonda, the owner of the paw shop had no problem fitting us in, and for a better price! My pup had a few other doggy friends to play with and got some good socializing in. We brought our own crate, which turned out to be unnecessary. They had some HUGE ones in the shop and little rooms as well to keep the dogs separate if necessary. We paid the extra 30$ to get her groomed while we were away, and she came back fluffy as ever and smelling wonderful! We were able to pay and add a tip with our debt card as well which was nice. The drive to the paw shop is 30 minutes for my boyfriend and myself, but it's worth every second. I highly recommend them for boarding and grooming services. I know my pup can wait to go back and visit Lashonda again soon! read more

i took my 9 pds toy poodle here for a full groom. I had an appt at 11:30, when I noticed it was 3:30 and I haven't received a call I reached out and they said that they just had her on the table working on her. There was one little matte on her head that she said she was working on. it doesn't take 3 hrs for you to get a little Matte out. So she told me 30-45 more mins. It's was now 4:30 and I still didn't get a call. So I tried to call several times with no answer until I was getting ready to head over there I get a text saying my dog is ready for pick up. My dog was at the groomers For 5 HOURS. With no food or water and probably no bathroom break. I will not be returning. you try to support black own businesses and they prove to you why you can't. read more

First of all it's been hard to get a hold of this location for months. I was advise to bring my dog today and she will be done in one hour after going to location in person to make sure it's open. The inside had a strong smell like chemicals. I sat in the parking lot until my dog was done but to go bAck and she wasn't. The owner was not onsite and the worker told me to wait until she came back to cut my dog nails there was a child like in middle or high school said she can help she got her clippers out her bag pack and helped. I move to ocoee a year ago and this location was amazing and prompt. They told me it was a sister own business and I said wow that's great for ocoee more shops to come. My dog nails are uneven, fur frizzy , ear dirty and strong odor and super sad like they don't care. There heart is not in it anymore they need to revamp or sell. Your dealing with live animals. Something has changed. I started taking my dogs there early this year and the staff was great and grooming was great. Now it is different. Twice now I have made my appointment with the same girl that answers the phone who has a terrible attitude only to find out that I don't have an appointment and the second time there was a sign on the door that said that they would be back an hour later than my appointment. When I called and left a message I didn't even get the courtesy of a call back. Go to PetSmart. You will get better service. read more
