Stopped in without an appointment on a Saturday morning to a (unsurprisingly) packed shop. Being in desperate need of a beard trim, I took a seat on the couch and waited. After about ten minutes Jorge came over and asked if I had an appointment. I said I did not, but was in need of a quick service. He went around around the shop and asked all the other barbers if they had time. They all said no, which is fine, it was a Saturday and they have their regular clients to look after. Jorge then told me that he would work through his break after he finished to get me cleaned up. Did he ever! Beard looks phenomenal, think early 2020's Tom Ford style. I've been searching for a gender affirming haircut, but sometimes talking to people about your transition journey can be difficult, or uncomfortable. I've been to several hairstyles and a different barber before this trying to get results only to be told "it wasn't possible" or to be treated negatively because I am trans. However, this was not my experience at The Parlor. Michael was my barber and not only did he give me the best haircut I've had yet, but he made me feel very comfortable. He was patient with my lack of understanding on how to explain what I wanted, and he was very respectful of where I was in my journey. I left feeling so happy and heard. My husband gets his hair cut here, and loves it. He sees Ricky, and we are both super impressed with how good of a job Ricky does. First of all, The Parlor is very clean, the staff does a great job keeping up on sweeping up the hair. The staff are all very kind and considerate, they seem to be happy to be there. My husband finds it very convenient to be able to text Ricky for appointments. Ricky is prompt with his reply, and is typically able to get him in within a day or so. I've had the same barber for a cool min now, but I needed a cut fast. Im so picky about who cuts my hair, but Saturday at 230pm an emergency cut was needed. In I walk into The Parlor, a shop I've passed hundreds of times and never thought about going into, wish I steppped in sooner. It's different from my shop and that's okay, at the end of the day the cut was more important and Eli G didn't let me down. It was a hairy situation and I wasn't sure if he could cut it, but he had me looking sharp and clean towards the end. He didn't brush over any questions in reGUARDS to asking me what I wanted and I didn't have to comb through a bunch of options for a style as he was quick to take my suggestions. My hair is thinning and I've got a difficult beard to trim/shave on a timely manner. Al is the mandatory barber if your looking for sharp/shaped lines for beards in particular. Also though, if you're a dude with thinning hair, Al's the automatic choice. The Parlor is a gentleman's barbershop that is swift in service, professional in craftsmanship, and casual in comfort, all at a decent price and convenient location. Their numerous barbers and flexibility to customer requests combined to provide a fresh cut that anyone can enjoy. The decor and ambience of the shop was casual with a hint of "gentleman's elegance" aesthetic. The shop is split in half with barbers lining the walls along each part of the room, and a small hosting desk on the right side of the entrance. There, you can schedule your future appointments with any of the barbers. For waiting clients, lowered leather couches are placed near the windows. Music included a feel-good playlist from Pandora consisting of Hall & Oates and Journey. As for the location, the shop sits just outside the Todos Santos Plaza. A quick stroll across the street and there is no shortage of food areas to visit. Parking is also readily available - although the one-hour plaza spots fill up quickly, there is a parking garage directly across from the Parlor that allows up to 4 hours of free parking. I have visit many barbershops in the Concord area, and I can proudly say that none of them took me in as quickly as the folks did at the Parlor. I walked in right when they opened at 10 AM. I took a seat, and 15 minutes later a barber who just arrived took me in. I asked for a bald fade with a natural part and slight thinning on top. Some clippers here, some scissor trim there, and I was done in forty minutes. For the style I desired at the speed they cut my hair, I am certainly satisfied with the quality - sharp line-up and a slow fade. I was more than happy to pay $30 for the specialty cut. My only gripe is the lack of debit and credit card options as payment. There is no getting around the convenience of using card, but at the very least, they have an ATM in the middle of the shop. Overall, I received a respectable haircut at a decent price and quality presentation. This is a barbershop that caters to the casual walk-ins and special event appointments. I will definitely return to the Parlor for my haircuts in the future. read more

Ive been coming here for a few years now and Jorge is my guy. Review of Jorge- Over the years Ive gone through a few different style changes and Jorge has always been able to deliver on what I want done, and also be honest with what he thinks will work best for my head shape and hair type. It has come to the point that I will give him a vague idea of what I want done , I finish the sentence with "but, whatever you think will work best, I trust you" and I always leave happy with the end result. Jorge is great at keeping his appointments and has accommodated me a few times outside normal working hours. He really takes his time to insure his work is up to his standards, and that is greatly appreciated. Review of The Parlor- Great location. It is right next to Todos Santos Park. During busy hours you might find trouble parking around the park but the shop is conveniently located across from a parking garage. The shop is very well kept and enough seating so that when your waiting for your cut you are not bumping elbows with anyone. I myself always make an appointment but have always noticed people walk in and get service pretty promptly. All the barbers are very polite and respectful which i believe is a direct reflection of the Owner/Management. read more

The Parlor barbershop is looks nice and relatively welcoming. They have a TV and a few couches. The atmosphere was very relaxed but not very professional. The service is unpredictable depending on the barber you get. Each barber is independent of each other. The barber Rudy was very slow and did not keep his appointment. It took an hour & a half before another barber volunteered to cut my hair. You may be lucky if you get a barber that is professional and quick with their service. The actual haircut can either take 30 minutes to an hour + for a 2 on the sides, trim on top, and taper the bottom. I stopped coming here because of repeated bad experiences and lack of professional service and or courtesy. You are lucky if you're in and out within an hour. read more
