Excellent service, booked appointment prior to arriving at the shop, and barber, Jimmy, was ready to go. Cut came out great! Definitely would recommend read more

My son had an appointment earlier today at another shop and the lady ruined his hair. School starts in 2 days so imagine my panic! Erick was very courteous. He assisted me over the phone. When he heard what happened, he informed me that he would do his best to get back to me within 40 minutes. Shortly after, he called back to let us know they were able to squeeze us in for an appointment (which we are grateful for!) Alex was so kind and patient with my 5 year old. Throughout the process, she took her time and gave him tiny breaks when needed while also making sure I liked how it was turning out. She was able to keep the hair that he had left, so he's not bald. The end result exceeded my expectations & my son is happy with his new haircut. We have a barber that we usually go to but would definitely come back in the future due to the friendly, efficient staff. Thank you all! read more

My teenager was thrilled with his cut from Christian. This will be out new regular spot.

Haven't been to a barber since 1996, so I don't have much to compare it with :) Jordan did a great job, and everyone here is super friendly. They were also able to fit me in on short notice, which I really appreciated. Good vibe, friendly people, and a great experience overall. Definitely recommend! read more

I've gone here a few times, but I think today was the last straw for me. I showed Jimmy A. a picture of what I wanted done and he said "sure I got you". 30 minutes later and my hair is 75% shorter than what I asked for in the photo, and it looks nothing like what I wanted. Every time I've gone here I've asked for a light trim or to get my hair out of my eyes, and they have never listened to what I wanted, always cutting it far shorter than what I asked for. I'm going to be wearing a beanie for the next couple of weeks until my hair grows back because I truly hate the way that I look right now. read more

It is so hard to find a barber that you know you can go to over and over. My boyfriend and I came here years ago and didn't really fall in love with it. I mean, the barber at the time did his job, but nothing that made us want to go back. Here we are years later. He was in the area, so he gave this place another try. He walked in with no appointment and I believe he said he waited maybe 15 minutes and Alex was able to help him out. It wasn't until the follow up haircut that we found his barber. Alex has been such a great barber and she always tries her best to make sure he cut is exactly what he ask for. She even suggest that it might not look exactly like the photos because they hair thickness and style of the person in the photo is not the same. No matter what my boyfriend ask for, Alex always tries her best to make it happen. I also love that, if I don't go with him to his appointments, Alex always ask where I am. Love that relationship there. Thank you Alex for always making Carlos' hair look good. You are the best and our favorite barber. #1Barber All the barbers there are very friendly and nice and they all know what they are doing. I feel like, if you know EXACTLY what you want and to stay friendly and vocal with them, you will leave happy. If you tell them what you want and show a picture, but not make you voice heard once you see something you don't like, of course you are going to leave unhappy. Not sure where those unprofessional comments are coming from, but they do their job and have fun. Thank you to the whole team for having such a fun place. read more

I took my baby brother for the first time since he wants to start getting hair cuts that are more in-style. I was nervous as I know nothing about haircuts for men and wasn't sure what to ask for. Julius was very kind and did a great job figuring out what he wanted. He was very happy! Booking was also easy online. We will be coming back. read more

I recommend AJ! Has done an amazing job every single time! So on point! Thank you again brotha! Especially working with my schedule!

I highly recommend going with Jimmy! He's very welcoming as soon as you walk in and by the time he has time for you to sit in his chair, that's where his magic comes in. He never rushes, you can never rush art and he's all about the details when it comes to any type of hairstyle you got, he will get the job done! He loves what he does and not only that he's easy to talk to and you'll be walking out very blessed and getting high compliments everywhere you go! Proud of you Jimmy and keep up the great work!! read more

My go-to barbershop. Dario gets me right every time. The shop is always clean and the crew is always professional.

My barber is AJ and he is fantastic!! I've been looking for a barber for a long time and was in the Sun Valley Mall one day and decided to stop in and get my haircut at Empire. That was close to a year ago and I can't say enough how talented AJ is at his craft.....and he's one ambitiously cool dude as well!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. We took our grandson to get a haircut and left completely upset. The guy who cut his hair had absolutely no clue what he was doing. Left long patches and uneven hair everywhere. The guy knew he screwed up and didn't even charge us. Never take your kids there. Such an upsetting experience. read more

Best thing you could ever do is book here with Jimmy! When looking for a barber you look for clean lines, and a great conversation. Jimmy does more than that. He makes you feel very comfortable the moment you walk in the door, greeting you and offering you something to drink while you wait. Thank you Jimmy for a great conversation and a even better haircut. read more

I have been going to Empire barbershop for about a year getting cut by Dario , great guy and knows how to cut really good! Before I would bounce around from shop to shop because the barbers wouldn't be consistent with their skill set not at empire , dario knows what he's doing and the vibe at empire is always welcoming and professional read more

I definitely recommend this barbershop! It's clean, has many TVs to get your little one's attention while he's getting his hair cut, and fully staffed with talented barbers. My son just started school and was on the hunt for a barber. I recalled Empire in Sunvalley and I looked them up on IG and loved how they're open Monday-Sunday! As a working mom of two, this is GREAT! You can easily pick a barber and book online through their website or IG. I came in on Labor Day to get my son a hair cut for his second week of school. Yes, they were even open on a holiday! I booked with Julius and he was amazing! He chit chatted with my talkative son and recommended my son have a comb-over. I wasn't too sure what I wanted for him other than a bald fade. Mind you, I'm not too keen on boy hair styles. When he was done, he asked me if I wanted him to fix anything on my son's hair but it was PERFECT! Thank you Julius! We will definitely be coming back! read more

If you have Asian hair, I'd recommend looking elsewhere for a haircut. I've been coming to Empire on and off since 2018, and while the service is generally good and the staff is friendly, my recent experiences have been disappointing. I went in for a taper on the sides and neck and asked for half an inch off the top, even showing a reference picture for what I wanted. Unfortunately, the result wasn't what I had hoped for, and I've been consistently unhappy with how my haircuts have turned out here. One thing to note is that the barbers tend to chat amongst themselves a lot, even while cutting hair, which can be a bit annoying (literally witnessed a client getting a cut but the barber is neglecting the dude and talking with the other barbers lol). Overall, while this place might work for others, it doesn't seem to be the right fit for me. read more

Erick was awesome and the perfect example of why I've kept going here for the last 5+ years. Incredibly consistent staff. I knew Erick was a vet as he was a familiar face, but I've had 3 different barbers here and they all still work there. I have complete faith in their staff and would confidently book an appointment with anyone here. read more

The last place I been to, I had to get APPROVED for an appt-- even after setting an appt booked, the time/day that I wanted still had to get approved which is SUPER FRUSTRATING esp. if we had something important going on or special occasion. I really like that this place is flexible on time-- esp. for a busy mom like me always on the go. I was able to take my son in for a haircut before our family trip last month without any problems or complications. The barber was really patient & offered him a lollipop. There were a lot of kids here when I came in getting a haircut. From what I observed while I was waiting for my son, I like how patient each staff member was with the kids & seeing how they interact to make them feel comfortable. From booking appts. to payments, I had no issues what so ever & it was very convenient! read more

About two weeks ago, I called around in Vacaville and Suisun City to get some barbershop pricing. Only a few were $35, some were $45, and a lot were $50 for a haircut. This isn't Sport Clips. I knew some barber out there from out-of-state, who used to give me a buzz in my garage no extra charge. Six years ago, a haircut at a barbershop in the neighborhood would be $20-25. 28 years ago, if a barbershop in the hood was charging me $35 for a haircut that would be outrageous and I wouldn't believe it. I don't know how barbershop's out there that aren't from Carmel, Santa Clara, San Francisco, Napa, Beverly Hills, Las Vegas, or Scottsdale be charging high prices for a haircut. It sounded like they were price fixing. You pay for what you get, but if they're charging $50 or more, I'm naturally going to be expecting a $50 or more haircut. Yesterday, I booked an Empire standard haircut for 7:15 PM. A lot of barbershops don't work with my schedule, they're mostly closed at 5 PM. I like how Squire Technologies made booking with them easy. I like how they gave me an option to pay online or in person. Unless I have to, most of the time I go with in person and cash. This barbershop is in a shopping center. I arrived kind of early, about an hour and had some time to kill. I like the design here, very classy and slightly modern in black and white. I got exactly what I needed. Everything was excellent. I give this 5.0 stars out of 5.0 stars. read more

Empire Barbershop - Barbers Near Me - Concord, California

I should have came here from the beginning. I'm new to the area and I got my hair cut by 6 different barbers around Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Concord, and Pleasant Hill and not one could get my cut right.......until now! Just to throw it out there, my cut is far from difficult to do. Dario cut my hair today and he did exactly what I wanted. He's very Clean, precise, professional, and pays attention to detail. I HIGHLY recommend Dario from my experience! read more

Tried to book an appointment 4 days in advance, Dario Jones answered the phone and it went something like this: Hi, I was wondering if I could book over the phone I'm having issues booking it on the app and on browser. Dario: Yeah man I can't do that for you, people usually don't show up. Who were you looking to book with though? 1) If your system and UI/UX is shitt but you don't take walk ins what other booking alternative are you offering then? 2) The Hercules location is competent and able to book over the phone? The lack of professionalism at this shop is insane given how they're trying to market it to their respective clientele. This is my two cents and could've been that Dario is overworked who knows but when I am paying 70 dollars for a haircut I expect customer service higher than Jack in The Box at 2am. read more

Everyone at Empire is very respectful and courteous which makes you want to come back after every haircut. Erik is my Barber and has me leaving the shop feeling like a new man. He is the barber for you if you like a conversation, great haircut and even better price!! Recently I started the process of looking for a new barber. A friend of mine recommend me to Empire in the Sunvalley Mall, and what a GREAT recommendation. It had been sooooo long since my 8 year old got a hair cut. This was our first time at Empire and we drove all the way from Alameda. I heard about this place from my cousin and looked up all the Barbers listed on Instagram and picked Julius. (Although all of them seemed to be amazing) We got there early and Julius saw us right away. I love the look of the front because it felt like a red carpet experience! We showed Julius the picture of what we were looking for and he didn't flinch or raise his eyebrows in confusion. He looked at it once and was like no problem! 30 minutes later I came back and could actually see my sons face!!! He nailed the picture and nailed the hair cut!!! Julius was friendly, kind and great working with my wiggly son. I highly recommend this place and especially Julius!!! We will make the trip out here from now on. Totally and completely worth it!!! read more

My 7yr old told me this is "best haircut ever"! Empire is located in the mall. They take appointments and practice COVID safety precautions with precision. I was impressed by their professionalism and kindness. My son was cut by Dario, who was amazing! He patiently waited for my son to explain how he wanted his back to school cut. My son came in as a walk- in late on a Monday, and of course there was a line (that was well worth the wait). These guys have been rated "best of the east bay 2018" and it shows in their work and customer service. Book in advance and skip the line. My son left feeling fresh and happy. Stephen cut my son's hair just the way he wanted it. Stephen even gave him a fresh shave. Happy place. Super professional. Oh, and the music playlist was quite enjoyable. There are many TVs to not miss any sporting events. This has been the best experience so far. We've tried sports clips, other local barber shops, and those places are good, but Stephen is on a different level of customer service, expectation, and delivery of services. read more

By far one of the best Barbershop experiences I've had. My go to barber here is Raymar. He gives me a clean cut every time and always has me leaving looking fresh. Price of course, is not like a Great Clips. So be prepared. Space is big and clean. read more

I'm surprised I didn't write a review for Empire Barbershop as I've been coming here for years! What can I say? This place is my go to barbershop since September 2013. My go to barbers are Justin and Rick, and they've been cutting my hair for the past 5 years. I have never been disappointed. Real cool dudes with outgoing personalities. Very professional, friendly, and quite frankly they are like family. The ambiance is super chill and relaxing. They got good music playing throughout the shop, have tvs with sport center or some sports game on, and it's very family friendly. I see lots of families go in and out. Keep in mind, these barbers have strong reputations so you have to book an appointment or else you will be waiting for a very long time as a walk-in. (Btw, Sundays are their walk-in days). Since they are located in the mall, you can walk in, cruise around (or eat in a restaurant) and they will contact you when they are ready for you. Walk-ins wait time is about 2 hours. I love how you can book online ahead of time. The process is very seamless and quick and most importantly, easy. Some say it's pricey, but it's worth every penny. Gotta pay to play. All barbers are professionally trained from barber colleges - a big plus in my book. Even if I didn't live around the area, I'd still make the trip to Empire. read more

My boyfriend gets his hair cut here often because of their hours, it's convenient for us. So far all of them are good. It's located inside the mall, park by Macy's and take the escalator downstairs, once you exit to the mall, you should notice it on the right. Always a long wait when we go in the weekends, about 1 to 2 hours, sometimes even 3. So we would go in and my bf would put his name on the list and we would go eat, they will text you and call you when it's your turn but also you can check where you are on their list because once they add you into their system, they send you a link by text and you'll see how many people are in front of you and how many minutes they have been waiting. (I think that's pretty neat) read more

First thing me trying this place. Awesome and super professional. It was fun to watch these guys work. They know a their stuff. But be prepared for a wait-due to their much deserved popularity. Just gotta say since moving to the East Bay, I was told about this cool barbershop in sunvalley mall. I thought it was weird at first, but it caught my eye and went to try it out. I randomly chose Erick and has been cutting my hair since. He helped me find what I wanted in my look which I've been stuck with because I love it so much. The shop itself feels very chic. Everyone is in uniform which shows professionalism. They're always making sure the floor stays cleaned after every cut. Erick, along with the other barbers, takes great care of their clients with precision, leaving them feeling sharp. So I'm a pretty shy person and sometimes it's hard for me to have a conversation, but literally everyone there is so friendly and it really makes you feel welcome on every visit. I do recommend booking in advance. Though they may have open spots available for walk-ins if you don't have a preferred barber. read more
