Came here for a last minute cut for my 10 year old son. He has picture day tomorrow. Hannah cut my sons hair (she's so sweet and did a great job) and I'm guessing Tj helped out with the line. My son loves his cut. He said mom can we come back here next time? This place is cool. He put on minions for my son and made him feel so comfortable. Lots of jokes and kept the vibe. Will definitely be coming back. They are both great! Thank you! read more

The barber really knows his stuff, plus can be very entertaining. Always my go to for a fresh cut

Not only did TJ give my son a great haircut, he handled my son's sensory sensitivity very well. A cool vibe too. read more

TJ is a great barber. If you have to wait a little bit in the chair, it's worth the wait. He has always cut my son's hair perfectly. And can I just say his prices are outstanding with the economy and everything else going up sky high, he has remained very affordable. We come from Hercules. It's a little bit of a drive to Clayton Road in Concord, but it's worth the drive for us, thank you TJ for always being kind and affordable! read more

Great barber shop, cuts My hair everytime the way I want it, super chill dude and my first barber since I moved out this way and haven't changed since! I recommend read more

This guy has me sitting down waiting still after I told him I was gonna be there at a specific time. I was there before that time and I still waited 2 hours and still haven't gotten my hair cut. Bad business, unreliable and unprofessional. People have lives to tend to and I just wasted my time trying to get a haircut. Please do better if you gonna keep doing it read more

Such Bad customer service I called to see if they have available time , and i could make an appointment to manage my time they Answer my call and made joke on me Such poor Barber i said i wanna Make an appointment he said oh this is Not a restaurant to reverse a table for you . read more

Walked in tonight at 7pm. I immediately noticed everyone stopped talking and stared at me. The one barber would barely say anything to me. It was really obvious that I wasn't wanted in this place due to my race (white). I've never had this level of racial discrimination before and it wasn't fun, nor was it deserved. When I walked out, they all started laughing. I don't care about the people or the business, I'm writing this as a warning. Don't go into TJ Fades if you're white...you won't be welcomed. read more

Rude and talks to damn much instead of focusing on the haircut. Do not come here ! Save your money and go to someone more presentable & professional. read more

I recently moved to Concord and have still been traveling to Dublin to get my fades but I found this place. They did a great job and also lined up my beard! Highly recommend if you're looking for a fade! read more

Tj is a great barber and asset to the community. He's great at what he does and he's funny too. Also, he's great with kids

Great customer service, despite doing a walk-in with my 2.5 year old son. I think I finally found my favorite barbershop. read more

I don't know who this rude person is y'all are talking about because my experience was stellar & I'll definitely be back. My grandsun was in dire need of a cut & our regular barber was on vacation. I went to one place that didn't have time & a gentleman recommended I call TJ since I was headed in that direction. A very polite gentleman (the owner) answered & assured me he could cut my baby's hair ASAP. In addition to him being very nice we had a very engrossing conversation & my sunny left looking clean as Clorox. I totally recommend read more

Not only are the cuts great for 20 dollars but the experience is great itself. You walk in the shop and get greeted then you just sit down and listen to some old school music to relax you. Overall best experience at a barber shop read more

Fast, skilled, and will crack you up while you wait. It's wonderful being able to laugh in these trying times. I will definitely bring my son back. read more

Update went in for a second haircut and Chris was not working that day and I got the owner and he told me he usually only cuts brothers hair and isn't experienced in other areas and said he would see what he could do. It did not turn out the greatest and for that reason I will not be back! read more

Hi TJ - just want to say that I hope you and your family are ok in these trying times! My son Gunner's hair is super long and we can't wait to see you when all of this over. Hang in there and be safe ! Best to you and your family! read more

Hours are wrong. I went today at 7pm and it was closed. Waste of time. Business owners should keep their online information up to date to avoid frustrating their customers. read more

I've been going to TJ Fade's for the past decade - since the owner worked near the TJ Maxx building. One of the best barbers in town and a cool dude that will make you laugh and make you think. No appointments. Cash only. Open 7 days a week. Tried other shops in the area and to be honest, they just aren't that good... either they have an attitude, can't really cut my hair how I like or are money hungry. It's a real problem for a black man in Concord, honestly. I noticed some negative reviews on here so wanted to chime in and give my honest and fair review. I Hope Ya'll have a good day. read more

My son and I walked in and TJ Fade was so good with my son. He was friendly and funny. I would highly recommend. Cash only.

Owner was spouting off about how Covid wasn't real, how he broke quarantine and cut hair in his garage all year with no ppe, had his mask half off his face and tried to start a fight when I told him he was stupid and walked out of his shop. He followed me out swearing at me and calling me racist trying to start a fight. Professional at its best! read more

We brought our 18-month son to TJ after hearing about him from some friends. TJ was AMAZING for his first big boy haircut. Everyone in the shop was friendly and welcoming to us and helped us navigate and learn about his hair (our son is bi-racial). We highly recommend TJ for any age. We will be return customers! read more

I would recommend TJ fades definitely the best hair cut I have gotten in years the girls love me when I get my hair cut thanks to TJ I get the ladies. Always an enjoyable experience getting my haircut. read more

Hours say open until 7 but the barber said he leaves whenever he wants... wouldn't even take a 6 o'clock appointment

Yo i saw this place on Yelp and wanted to give it a try so I decided to call. When this dude picked up the phone he was rude as hell. If they're that rude over the phone I can't imagine how rude they'd be on the floor! Save yourself the time and don't bother calling, shit if your like me and appreciate good customer service don't even bother going! read more

Great place, best cut I have gotten in years. We come from Martinez to get our hair cut here. Open late during the week. A bit busy on the weekends. They do more than fades, great guys. read more

My new spot for a clean taper! This place got it all...animated barber with some SERIOUS skill. Gotten cut by 3 different barbers and they all hooked it up nice, no complaints. Been living out in Concord for bout a year now and wasnt feelin any of the other barbers in the area (walnut creek to concord) and got tired of driving out to my old spots in Hayward and San Leandro all the time. Most Def up to par if not better than what I am used to! Extra points for the late hours (works perfect for when you need to get lined up after a long day of work) and being open 7days a week. Whens the last time you seen a shop open on a sunday? Prices are good too, about $15 a cut and they run they special $10 cuts on tuesdays, but consider yourself warned...PLACE IS HELLA PACKED ALL DAY ON TUES! read more

Been here a handful of times and I must say it's a great atmosphere and the barber's do a great job. First couple times I got faded up by Chris and the cuts and line up were amazing. He's a really laid back guy that makes you feel welcomed on the chair. I just got a line up by Chrissy and she did wonders on a shadow fade. She's really chill and did her magic. Impressed with her skills! The owner TJ is a funny guy that cracks jokes throughout your time there! So even if you do have to wait for a cut, you'll be entertained by the barber's and fellow customers stories and conversation! It's a nice shop with plenty of seating and parking. A well lit parking lot in a busy shopping plaza. They are open on Sundays as well and prices are fair! 5 Stars all the way!! read more

I love TJ's he does great work and you get free life lesson as well. I take my boys there and they enjoy it. TJ and Chris are very friendly and we always have a good time when we see him. I recommend anyone looking for a great price and great experience to come to here. read more

So many years later and so happy to still see the owners smiling welcoming face. Shop is so homey and comfortable. Kid friendly with snacks and art. Also, Best prices in the whole bay! Thanks TJ for your neighborhood service :) read more

The owner of this place seems to be very unhappy in life, he is so rude. It really doesn't matter if the haircut was good or bad when one is treated with such disrespect. read more

I love the way Tj cuts my son hair. Great service and kid friendly atmosphere for children . Tj gets you in & out !

Tj is a good dude. Get's you in and out looking fresh. Real good guy to talk to and hilarious at times. He ain't no square boring guy. You ask what you need and you'll get what you where looking for. When I found all the barbers busy in the area and the chances of getting a haircut look slim toward the end of the day. Look no further Tj is open and he got you. read more

Been getting my haircut here for years. TJ and the crew( Jake, Chris), are pros at their work. They take pride in their haircuts and it shows. Great deals on Tuesday and Wednesday $10 haircuts. They also don't have a set closing time. I have gotten my haircut at 9pm before. They work with you. Haircuts are clean and the line and trim facial hair. This will always be my spot. If you like to trash talk. This is the place. Great conversations and funny go between the barbers. Feels like a old school neighborhood barbershop. Always feels good when I leave. Try them out you won't be disappointed. read more

Tj Fade's - The Joint for Cuts - Barbers Near Me - Concord, California

Just got a clean fade Saturday night by TJ the owner. He is a hella funny dude and makes you feel comfortable getting a haircut. One of the go to barbershop's in the Concord area. Barber was rude on the phone indicating it doesn't say 8pm online and proceeded to hang up. Clearly he isn't intelligent enough to understand they're in the people business -- ignorant bastard. They won't get my repeat business. Maybe he needs to learn how to read again. read more

I think I had a new barber that is why I had to go to another barber shop to get my haircut fixed right after, I had wholes everywhere in my head and the fade was not blended well. The one thing I would of really wanted to see is the owner caring little more about his business that looked like he loves and stoped me before I leave to fix what he saw it was wrong with the haircut. I am a nice guy so after my first attempt to direct the barber to fix it and the person couldn't I payed gave tips for the time they spend on my head and left. Nevertheless I wish them all the best I guess I was not lucky in my first day to get someone experience at barbering. It looks like a fun barbershop with the others so sad it did not workout damn read more
