This review is long overdue... I realized I never actually left one after my visit. The distillery…read moreis a bit off the beaten path, but that's part of the charm. I really liked the décor and overall vibe, both inside and outside. It's a great setting and well worth seeking out. A friend and I spent an afternoon checking out a few local distilleries and breweries, and Big Spring Spirits really stood out. We did a spirits flight, and while everything was well done, the straight rye whiskey was easily my favorite. It was surprisingly busy for a weekday afternoon, but the staff never missed a beat. Everyone was moving, clearly enjoying what they do, and they were happy to answer questions and talk through the spirits without making it feel rushed. I ended up buying a bottle of the rye to bring back home to California. I also just found out they've opened a tasting room in State College, which means it's officially on my list for the next time I'm back in PA.

All the employees here are huge dog lovers, so my pup really enjoyed it here too. The live music was also amazing and created such a fun, summer vibe while sipping on some drinks. We grabbed a picnic table and ordered multiple drinks. I had the Strawberry Old Fashioned ($12), which was strong and refreshing. Our table also shared a Charcuterie Board for 4 ($36). Such a great spot to hang with a group or solo. We ended up staying until closing.

If you're looking for some food on the go or late at night, it's definitely a solid choice. Otherwise, don't have too much of an expectation. There are touchscreen pads to order on and we picked up a few hotdogs. You can also add extra toppings to it. I also wanted the nachos, but it wasn't listed on the menu on its own. It was weird that you had to order another item that was paired with the nachos, so I ended up getting two chicken sliders as well. When we got our food, I opened the nachos to find barely any cheese on there. It wasn't enough to cover all the chips, so a bit disappointing there. I didn't think the hot dog was any special, but the chicken sliders were actually good. Maybe I was having my drunchies, but it got the job done to satisfy my hunger for the night.

Was on my way out of town for a trip for work and I needed to stop and get fuel before I hit I-80…read more(I'm not familiar with the road and I didn't want to be to far between exits without fuel). Made my way here and then onward with my travels. While here I was also craving some sweet tea for the long drive ahead of me. I went inside and made my way about the store and got everything that I needed for the rest of my trip and little afterwards as well. The store was well put together, clean and staffed with friendly people. The lot outside is huge and feels a bit out of place. That is until the area around it develops (which it appears it is in the process of doing). Exiting was a breeze, all you need to do is follow the signage and you'll be good. To the person that wrote a review about being angry about his card being compromised. Little hint, this establishment has nothing to do with the person who stole the information, nor the person the used the information. Going to this store where fraud was reported was about as smart a move as complaining on Yelp about it.
