This is one of those classic times where I'd love a "half a star". Ideally The Parks would be a 3.5 stars but I'm feeling generous.
I'll start with the service. Greeted by friendly and accommodating staff on a Sunday afternoon, we were shown to the bar area whilst waiting for a table. The staff were helpful but not overbearing which I really liked.
The exterior of the building is beautiful (as you can see from the first photo on yelp) and the interior has been recently renovated, but not to my personal taste.
We both opted for the roast beef with Yorkshire puddings, and at one course for just over £11 I was very impressed with the array of vegetables, boiled potatoes, and cauliflower cheese side dishes that accompanied our main course.
The beef was a great quality, but unfortunately was slightly overcooked, resulting in a lack of flavour. All of the food was like this, and although nothing was bad, it was all a little underwhelming.
Overall, I wasn't wowed by my food, but if somebody said I had to eat here, I certainly wouldn't refuse. read more
