Watch Out! Speed down the hill on the A518 out from Uttoxeter and you'll miss it! Castlewood Cafe, (called Kate's Cafe until recently) is on the right in the dip - one of those old petrol stations now turned into a human refueling pitstop.
Really neat place, very friendly service - sit outside on a sunny day under the jolly little orange umbrellas and watch the cars and bikes zoom past down the hill towards Chartley. Lovely green fields and hedgerow backdrop.
Range of tasty hot and cold snacks to silence the tummy rumbles and hot and cold drinks to slake the thirst.
Ideal stop for weekend bikers, who are welcomed - a fantastic bit of tarmac, from Uttoxeter to the A51 junction - undulating, curvaceous with tempting pinchpoints and beautiful open countryside views - no nasty 50 limits (yet).
Also good place for families to stop on way to Alton Towers perhaps.

Cafe prices - fine.
