This is my first apartment in 25 years and it's been a joy to stay here. I'm a fan of the application process, the ease of making arrangements to access the loading dock, the amenities (pool and gym), and the mail service. Of particular note, the concierge staff is exceptionally excellent. Noble, Barbara, Joe have been my primary interfaces and each have made me feel special and at home each time I walk through the door. Noble always has my packages ready for me to pick up and I love that! I feel assured that my interest are cared for by the maintenance team and they are very timely when I have issues. make no mistake that the recent five star reviews are because of a PR campaign that the building has been begging us to take part in. Carita is literally never at the office and is one of the most incompetent people I have ever had to deal with. Some of the front desk people are wonderful, such as Noble and the weekend staff, but Barbara is quite rude to women of different ethnicities. This place is incredibly overpriced for the crappy amenities you get. The people who live here are also terrible. Super loud and disrespectful, constant noise, children running around, and dogs barking. No one who lives here friendly either. I have never had to complain more about noise in my I've had to here. Park Connecticut is a great place to live! You cannot beat the proximity to Rock Creek Parkway - my dog and I are out there everyday enjoying nature. And the staff is amazing! Carita is the most friendly leasing agent you will find - always has a smile on her face and is ready to assist with anything you need. All the concierges are wonderful too, but Saiee, Barbara, and Noble really stand out! They are super helpful and always quick to give my dog lots of love and treats. We've had ~25 fire alarms in the last 16-17 months. Notably, 15 fire alarms during a 3 month stint in 2022. I left a review previously because the repairmen who work here are very kind. While both the repairmen and the staff who work the front desk are still amazing, I'm left wanting for a management team to resolve what is clearly a known issue. Where do I start? Constant issues in this building with management that takes no accountability. First our garage parking spot has been taken numerous times over the past 2 months and the building does nothing to monitor your space. Secondly, there is never ending noise from apartment renovations the community. Also, fire alarms go off constantly and no resolution from management except for a "deal with it" type attitude. Lastly, the elevator was not working the past weeks and zero communication from management. I had to reach out numerous times to get an answer. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere...there are far better apartment communities in the area. read more

I recently moved out of the Park Connecticut after living there for more than 4 years. I recommend this building for the well kept units and beautiful views. The best part though is the team working there. Noble and Barbara make it a special place to live - wonderful to chat with and they manage the concierge operations very well. The leasing office and maintenance teams are also great! I would note there is persistent construction noise throughout the building which makes working from home difficult. read more

My husband and i have lived in the van ness area for six years so when an apartment at park conneticut with a rock creek park view became available we jumped on it. Little did we know what a huge mistake that would be. Right when we moved in we noticed cockroaches in our laundry room and the common areas. Being common in dc we gave them a pass and bought pet safe pest control powder. Then the very first week the fire alarm went off twice. We went outside like we were suppose to and were shocked when neighbors told us that the fire alarm went off by accident every few days!! Apparently they have a faulty fire alarm system to this day they have not addressed. Even going so far to hire people to stay in the hallways as fire watchers..Scary. even with all this we had a health issue that made us plan on sticking it out for one more year but when the rent renewal offer came we were surprised to see a increase of 500 dollars!! We would of happily paid 2 or 3 hundred more but asked them to explain the huge increase. They said it was market rate and there was zero room for negotiation. A few weeks later I went to the website and saw our website listed for only 50 dollars more then what we were currently paying. I took a screenshot and sent this to the leasing office asking if this is what we could pay as well only to get a reply that no that was not possible. We also saw on the message board that this had happened to other residents showing that they have a practice of getting people in and then jacking up the rent. Well we did move out and as if things couldn't get worse they are trying to bill us for fake cleaning charges and..get this a pest fee when there were cock roaches in the building from day one. Whatever you do not move here !!! We have lived at several apartment buildings in the area and have never ben treated this horribly. read more

Hats off once again to the Park Connecticut for excellent customer service! I had several maintenance problems that I had allowed to accumulate in the run up to Christmas with holiday obligations and travel. By the time I returned I needed a kitchen light replaced, a clothes dryer repaired, proper flow restored to a kitchen faucet, and most of all, a major problem with the HVAC system which had confounded both on board and contractual maintenance personnel. I'm very happy to say that when I did put in my maintenance requests the new maintenance team of JJ (the Chief) and Legesse responded promptly, properly equipped with the tools, supplies and attitude to get the job done. And they did in one long, very productive visit. With the new maintenance team and a new Community Manager who is laser focused on resident service I look forward to a continuing happy life at the Park Connecticut. read more

You'll just love the Park Connecticut. I am in my 10th year here. Kelly Gray, Patrick and Richard-- the residence concierges, are awesome. They greet you with a smile and are incredibly helpful all of the time. Sam, the building manager, is the best! He has significantly improved management services as well as the esthetics of the residence. We have had very good management over the years, but he is extraordinary. The Park Connecticut is located in the Van Ness area of Connecticut Ave. Its location and services are second to none! CVS, Giant, Metro, dry cleaners, and Starbucks are ALL less than a 2 minute walk. If you're looking for a new apartment home, check it out. You won't be disappointed. Mary Foley read more

Park Connecticut is a comfortable and immensely convenient place to live, and for what is in my opinion a reasonable price compared to most of the rest of Washington DC. It is not perfect but not many places are. We just renewed our lease for another 12 months. 1. Comfortable - My wife and I live in a 600-something sf, 1/1 on the 4th floor. The kitchen and bathroom are tiled and the rest of the apartment is wood laminate. For reference, there are 5 levels below ground (kind of I think? The building is on a slope, so I'm not sure if some of the below-grade eastern exposure apartments actually have a window), and 6 + roof above ground. The building was built in 2000 and the units, or at least ours, were recently renovated. So fairly new and comfortable in regards to noises, heating/cooling, etc. Our apartment is directly next to the elevator, which was a bit of a concern when we first moved in. I know in many older buildings, or when the building materials don't insulate noise well, living next to the elevator can be a nightmare from the dinging and whirring. It has not once been an issue for us. Our biggest gripe with the apartment is the size / shape / layout of the kitchen, which is kind of a C shape. My wife and I like to cook together, and it's a bit of like dancing the tango around each other while preparing meals or cleaning up. Also the cabinet space is a bit lacking in space and ideal layout. Other than that, the apartment overall is very comfortable and with sufficient space. The building is fairly no frills -- basic gym, paid parking garage if you like, and (in my opinion the best amenity) the roof which has plenty of social space, grills and tables, and a pool that's open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. There is always a concierge on duty and they are all at least pleasant, some going above and beyond. 2. Convenient - The thing we like most about Park Connecticut is the location. It is in the Van Ness neighborhood in NW DC, 2 blocks walk from the a Giant grocery, an incredible wine/beer/cheese store, and a red line stop. This last point is amazing for me -- I work in West End and my commute, if I get the timing right, is ~20 minutes door-to-door. My fortunate commute aside, Van Ness is a lovely little neighborhood where you get a much more residential feel. There are very few tall buildings nearby - ours is one of the tallest at 7 stories above grade. It is very quiet and comfortable, parking in the street is no hassle, and yet if we want to get to the hustle and bustle, we drive 7 minutes or take the metro 3-4 stops. There are not many restaurants in the immediate area, but if you go 1 metro stop closer to DC (maybe a 3 minute drive) to Cleveland Park, you have options aplenty. Apart from the winter there is a nice farmer's market right across the street -- I literally walk across in my pajamas and slippers on Saturday mornings to buy a dozen fresh eggs from Pennsylvania and some veggies. 3. Price - DC is an expensive place to live, no way around it. It's very hard to find comfortable, convenient (in terms of location -- either close to downtown or at least near a metro stop) accommodations for a bargain. Unless you are willing to move out to the boonies in VA or MD, or sacrifice some physical or emotional comfort (i.e. peace-of-mind about the surrounding area), you'll be paying an arm and a leg. Park Connecticut, considering everything I've mentioned above, is a solid deal. It especially was so for our first lease term -- our rent just increased ~4-1/2% and it was still almost a no-brainer for us to stay. We got both the original term and the renewal for decently below market-rate rent, so, as with all places, it helps to move in a slow season and of course negotiate your rent. All-in-all, we have been very happy with the experience of living at Park Connecticut, and especially recommend it to young couples (or older couples I suppose -- basically without kids) who split rent and want a happy medium between: a) the luxurious, convenient, yet exorbitantly expensive apartment buildings in some of DC's more "popping", loud neighborhoods or the towns popping up all over NOVA, and b) a reasonable monthly payment and quieter, but sacrificing physical comfort (i.e. crappy building), peace of mind (i.e. crappy area), or convenience (i.e. spending a substantial portion of your waking hours getting to and from the office -- if you work in DC). read more

Shortly, my vehicle was broken in when I parked in the garage, along with three other vehicles. It has been half year, the property management team hasn't gave me a single response The last paragraph was a year ago, and now I am happily to write that I moved out with from hilariously managed property. After three months moving out, the property manager Sam Cole hasn't responded any single of my emails or call requesting my deposit check refund/ at least an explanation about where my check go???? When I finally connected with Sam, he tried to avoid his responsibility by lying that he couldn't reach me. There's no single email replied from the management group, no phone calls or any mails. I'm kind of torn. I don't know how many stars I am satisfied with giving this place so I'll break it down: Service: 3: They do (usually) meet their 24-hour service guarantee, but sometimes it is last-minute and the last thing I want to see when I come home is a handy man in my kitchen, you know? Then there's the fact that they leave the most expensive lights (the foyer lights are the kind that suck up electricity like crazy) when they're finished and I am stuck paying the electric bill. But all in all, it's not so bad in that respect. Neighborhood: 3.5: It's a convenient block and a half away from the Van Ness Metro and CVS/Giant, which is nice when you run late all the time like me. The area seriously lacks charm, however, and I wish it were more like Cleveland Park or something. The Fanny Mae-owned building across the street (4250 Conn Ave--no, I'm not a psycho, I see the address every morning) makes a LOT of noise VERY early (I'm talking 5am or earlier) quite often, and that sucks for street-facing apartments, like mine. Apartment: 5: I absolutely adore my one bedroom apartment. The kitchen has granite countertops (and lots of counter space), gas stove, big sink. There's also a side-by-side washer and dryer, a humongous walk-in closet, a fire place, and a balcony. It's really cool. The roof has a pool w/lounge chairs and on the other side there are tables with umbrellas to eat on. All that faces Soapstone Valley Park, so it's peaceful and makes you forget you're in the city. Many apartments face the park, but I wasn't lucky enough to snag one. Management: 2: When I moved here about a year ago, we had two awesome property managers. They both left at the same time and things haven't been the same since. I put in my 60-day notice about a month ago and I still haven't received my lease renewal papers. I've reminded them 3 times. Although I like it here, I spend WAY too much on rent (despite the perks) and want to move to Dupont where I've got a deal worked out for half the price. I guess their laziness might just pay off b/c I can use it as an excuse not to sign the papers! All in all, I'd recommend living here (if you have more patience than me). It's a great building and the location, while not exciting, is very convenient. (That's where I got the 4 stars). read more

As far as I'm concerned, after living for nearly 20 years in D.C., the Park Connecticut at 4411 Connecticut Ave., NW, is an undiscovered gem. Beyond its rooftop pool, fitness center, parking garage, the location 1/2 block from Calvert Woodley (!!), the metro, a Giant, etc., there's its exceptional building design, from winding hallways that emphasize privacy, to massive balconies literally ON THE PARK, with the charming sounds of birds and a burbling creek. All this, smack in the middle of a major city. Truthfully, you'd be nuts to live anywhere else. The management and maintenance team are gracious, polite, and thorough. I love it here, and I'm only leaving because I'm relocating to be near my children and grandchildren. read more

We love living at Park Connecticut. Our 2 bed / 2 bath apartment is very comfortable - with views from every room (except the bathrooms) of Rock Creek Park. The large windows in each bedroom and the balcony create a sense of openness. In the winter, the fireplace keeps the apt. warm and cozy. The staff is amazingly helpful, accessible and extremely diligent. The building (top to bottom / entrance to parking garage) is very clean and operates well. If you need anything, the staff is very reliable. We love the rooftop terrace (lounge chairs, tables, pool, jacuzzi and views). It is a beautifully relaxing retreat. The fitness center is 24 hours and is never busy. The location creates an ease of access as well. Metro, walking, rental bike depots, etc. In other words, it is enjoyable, easy and convenient to live at Park Connecticut. read more

Initially when we moved in we loved this place! The building is very nice and it is right by the metro so you have easy access to the city. 1 year later, we have moved out and cannot be happier. The problem with this place is the management and staff. The management is literally nonexistent and does not understand the concept of addressing resident concerns on a timely basis. In my opinion, you should not have to email management multiple times in order to elicit a response, especially if it is an issue that is easily resolved. Take for example, the time i emailed the manager asking what the original paint color for the walls were. That took 1 week and multiple aggressive emails to get a response. Or the time I asked the manager about a transfer fee between two equity buildings, that took took 1 week and multiple emails and she didn't even answer my question right away. She even admitted that she was understaffed and didn't have time to respond. Sadly, the staff is also incompetent. We were out of the country for a weekend and had our friend babysit our dog and signed a key release form in order for them to drop off the dog before we got back. The concierge at the front desk refused to let my friend drop our dog off in the apartment even though we had filled out a key release form. We were at the airport ready to board our flight when we got a call saying that our dog wasn't allowed back into our apartment because their was no record of a key release. What the hell?? Keep in mind our dog was only a puppy and maybe 4-5 months old at the time. Another horror story happened a couple days ago before move out. We hired movers and reserved the freight elevator for the morning of our move out 1 month in advance. A couple days before move out, I called the front desk to confirm our move out time and they said they had no record of the reservation!! They already had another resident name in that time frame. Luckily they owned up to their mistake and corrected it, but can you imagine the chaos that would have ensued if two moving companies came at the same time. You are paying these people $140/hr! I know the management and staff are only two aspects of an apartment complex but these were so bad that they influenced me to move out and never look back. My advice, don't live here! read more
