One of the customers mentioned this has happened to her before. We decided to take a walk around to see if any other register had staff. They touched base with my friend and I about our and their favorite candles, offered suggestions on how to properly detect the scent of certain candles (hint: smell the cover/cap to the candle, not the wax itself... apparently it is a truer representation of what the candle will smell like when it is burning), and were genuinely excited when final decisions were made about which scents to buy.
