We had a palapa re-thatched around a grill/bar in December 2019. The work and communication were pretty prompt so we were happy in the beginning. Unfortunately, the thatch was hung too loose and too low and over a few months of settling in, it got worse. Large dips formed between supports that catch leaves and birds sit in, and it hangs so low we have to duck to walk into the grill or sit at the bar. I called in May to have it looked at and was told the crew would be in our area a couple weeks later so someone would call me. That time passed with no communication. I called/text one month later with the same scenario- "We have a crew in your area in a week. I will make sure that they call and make an appointment". Again, no one called or came over. I was eventually told a supervisor had gotten sick but that we were still on the list and would be taken care of. I continued patiently waiting for someone to come take a look but it never happened. In the end, I took a couple weekends to dismantle the thatch and correct it myself. We're small business owners as well and completely understand the difficulties involved, especially with the current pandemic. But, we also understand the responsibility to correct mistakes and ensure customers concerns are taken care of. The Palapa Guy did neither. read more

Nothing but great things to say about Richard and his team. He's the perfect man for the job, you can tell he loves what he does and his attitude puts you in a tropical mood. He was very attentive to what we wanted to build and came to the house several times throughout the process to make sure we got it right. I've always wanted a tiki bar and boy do we have one. It absolutely makes a statement but better yet is the quality of the build, this thing isn't going anywhere for a long long time and every single piece is custom, nothing was prefab. If you want a palapa stay as far away from this place as possible. Not only do not honor their work but they are dishonest, untrustworthy and will try to get more money from you. I had them repair my palapa and it clearly stated on the contract we will honor the structure which includes: wood, screws, nails, concrete and rope for three years. Not only did they not honor this but Eric blamed the installer for the work and then had the nerve to try and sell me the same service they had sold me in September 2014. Warranty was supposed to be for 3 years. You can't put testimonials on their website because they don't want you to know they don't honor their products. Run people, spend your hard earned money somewhere else because they will not hold up to the repairs. One lie after the other.. read more
