The partitions created additional viewing space but made for a tight squeeze once all of the gallery goers filed in. I feared for some of the delicate works of art! It'd be nice to come back during regular hours (and not First Friday!) to spend more time studying each piece.

The new building dates to the 1870s and was originally a saloon and dance hall. It is also twice the size of the Indian Hills Trading Post. This gallery has a solid library of contemporary artists, not just from Colorado, but from across the U.S. and internationally. About 40 artists are regularly exhibited, showing mainly paintings and sculpture. All of the work is of very high quality. The historic building provides an excellent background with an expansive main floor and an intimate basement with original stone walls. This is also a fine event venue. Steve Sonnen, the owner, is an art consultant with extensive experience in the design of art-centric spaces using work from the gallery or custom commissions. Mirada Fine Art is one of the highlights of the Denver art scene.

After going months without creative contact, it was refreshing to be around other artists and be able to talk about art without any shame or pretense! The website is also very comprehensive and makes it very easy to look up upcoming opportunities, past successes, and current work and contact information of the artists it supports. I've been coming to 40 west for years and been an artist through them for 2 years, I had also talked to them previously about the bully and my fear and thought they would stand with me. They took a little while to respond and said they would look into it. When I filed the lawsuit against the bully, I sent on the cover sheet and said I would be happy to provide any evidence or answer any questions. I had been clear about needing a deadline of 9/30, I though a month and half to hear anything was more than reasonable, but they just ghosted me. So now I had to file a lawsuit against them to try and be treated equitably and so I can feel safe moving forward. having to do that, when I'm already dealing with someone who is unhinged is crap.

Belmar is one of the most romantic parts of Denver that anyone can ever find. Or even, most comparable to the shopping centers of Cherry Creek. However Belmar is a go to place, better than the shopping experience of Northfield Stapleton. I personally felt more of a connection with Belmar than anything else. The lights of Belmar are gorgeous, romantic (I can't emphasize that enough) and witty. They have lots of streets of fine boutiques, restaurants, bars and a bowling alley. Belmar also carries an ice rink where couples and families can go and enjoy a miniature icy adventure. It makes a total hot spot for a date idea. There's Wasabi Sushi nearby, but the wait is creamy. There is also the Lucky Strikes Lanes, where you can have a grand ol' time. Belmar is amazing and a luxurious experience that you can't miss! Especially coming to Colorado, that's one spot you must see!

Belmar has over 80 vendors ranging from chefs, jewelers, vintners, artisans and creative entrepreneurs all situated *indoors*. The venue is vast and festive. Be sure to grab a shop and sip ticket ($35) and be rewarded with fun libations, a shopping bag and swag to boot. Heirloom Baking was on hand for a cookie workshop ($20), several food trucks were available for grab and go yummies and THE RINK was open for post shopping ice skating fun. The outdoor version changes over time, but this time I was tracking nine fairies or nymphs, or like creatures, that encouraged harmony and love of nature. I scanned all nine spots and got a free little gift at the end. It's a cool, funky little space. Lots of nooks and crannies. A big papasan swing. Alien like animal sculptures. Plants everywhere. I can't remember what I paid, but it was nominal, and worth the little detour here. It's on Broadway, which parts of Broadway are lively and packed, but this one was a little more dead and vacant. The staff is super nice. The prices in the shop are reasonable for work by independent artists.

That will soon change when the original building becomes a Creative Campus for studios and the Astor House contains the galleries, a meeting room, reading center/library, refreshment kiosk and administrative offices. Targeted for March/April '24, both FAC buildings will be a major improvement and offer everything from classes and meetings to an increased outdoor patio and even a Short Edition dispenser for free English/Spanish phone-based stories, poetry and cartoons for both adults and kids to take with you!

She was expert, not just at glass, but also at teaching, and was great at working around my mobility limitations. My friend and I both decided to make glass bowls, and after these annealed over a 24-hour time frame, we ended up with lovely keepsakes. Expect to learn a lot in a very short time. The Experience is a little pricey, but worth it, especially considering the individual focus. Don't rush off--you'll want to explore the Gallery and pick up a few treasures (use your 7% discount the day of your Experience) and seek sale items. I fully expect to book another Experience!

In the chaos of my move from Denver to San Francisco last fall, I lost the hologram (a separate piece with adhesive) for my 2013 Telluride Bluegrass Festival poster. I emailed William Matthews Studio to see if I could buy that part alone, and they promptly replied and said they'd mail me a new one -- which they did, free of charge. I feel like stuff like this doesn't happen much anymore, so I just wanted to give them a happy Yelp shout-out -- THANK YOU!! -- and encourage people to give these lovely people some business. I definitely plan to check out their goods next time I'm back in Denver.
